Division IV Region 14
-
RedRider1Elyria Catholic is a NE Ohio team that is probably all but unknown to the NW Ohio dominant Region 14. They have a very talented team, a high powered offense and a strong playoff tradition. If the state doesn't take any wins from them, they'll be a top-4 seed.
Drew Pastuer's Fantastic 50 is as close as we have to CalPreps.com and he's projecting the following playoff seeds.
Projected Seeds
1) Elyria Catholic (Elyria)
2) Ottawa-Glandorf (Ottawa)
3) Orrville
4) Genoa Area (Genoa) - He's predicting they win each of their final 6 by a minimum of 22 points (Eastwood) and a maximum of 40 points (Gibsonburg).
5) Clear Fork (Bellville)
6) Galion
7) Clearview (Lorain)
8) Huron
Genoa vs. Clear Fork would be a great 1st round game. And would be over in record time...both teams run the ball 75% of the time (at least).

5knotsNobody is going to run thru the region. You Northwest Ohio folk need to appreciate good hard fought football games....not everything is a blow out over here in the eastern part of the region.

We are NOT trying to discredit Genoa, we are saying that they were a very good ball team. BUT we won the game and no excuses. The same as we say for the OG game. We shoulda, coulda won that game but we didn't. And here is the difference: we accept it and don't get on here and re-hash shoulda and coulda's. And 5knots last post is right on. And if you wanted to fill your week 4 vacancy, why not look for a patsy D-1 team from Toledo.....or even Meatchicken or Indiana? Take a script from our page.Classyposter58;493707 wrote:
Anyways I like how both Orrville and Genoa's fanbases are trying to discredit each other... -
thePITmanIn my opinion, Ottawa-Glandorf and Elyria Catholic are the favorites in the region with Orrville a close 3rd.
-
OQBI was going to say Triway was the favorite Pitman All kidding aside, EC and OG are the two front runners for sure.

And how about your team? Come on. spill it all out! -

THE4RINGZChippewa is making a run starting Friday in West Salem. I see them getting in and going deep in the region.
C'mon back BRF! -
thePITmanYou guys caught me. I obviously think our team can make some noise this year in the playoffs. Last year we had an early exit but this year's defense is better, I think, and our offense is coming along. We might not be the favorite in every game, but if we get in the playoffs, nobody will be able to take us lightly, IMO. Go Titans! (the ones from Triway)

clickclickboomSo does anyone know if showing a picture of crushed 17 year old kids on a forum is respectful to the other team?
-
clickclickboomI see alot of talk about all these cocky genoa fans that are so disrespectful.. but who on this forum is a genoa fan outside of me classyposter and bw?
-
OQBClick...We are speaking as a group of huddlers that were on JJhuddle, where you guys had a big number of posters like we do. Ever since the pay to write on that site, the number of huddlers has gone down quite a bit, and not everyone moved to this site. Go to the forum from last years game, you will see what I am talking about, or were you part of that crowd too?
-
OQBEveryone from Genoa who posted on that thread was predicting a 50-60 point blowout, like Orrville was the worst team they were going to play all year. Yes you guys averaged 59 points a game last year, but we held you to 35, and scored a whopping 36 points on you which is more than you had given up the previous 11 games combined. Talk about cocky.....just the whole way the Genoa fans, coaches, and players went about that game, rubbed the Orrville faithful the wrong way, and believe me it was a beautiful sight seeing all the players fall to the turf in disbelief....cause the better team won that night.
So before you criticize us for being disrespectful, look in the mirror at your own Genoa fans, players, and coaches!! -
RedRider1Is a 17 yr old kid gesturing lewdly to the fans of the opposing team a good sport, or respectful. They wont put up with that in Alliance, just so you know.
and maybe this picture is more of your liking.
There's a whole bunch more here...in case anyone wants to relive it.

bwcomet89^^^Clickclickboom is not in Alliance.
We seem to be re-beating the same dead horse over and over here. I do remember many of the posters on the huddle talking about "Genoa will win by blowout". I also remember their names, and also that many of them weren't even from Genoa. Yes, there some posters from Genoa that were predicting big scores, but none of them are here so I wonder why the Genoa posters here are constantly lopped into the same boat? If your car gets broken into, do you start beating up the bystanders because they're from the same town as the thief? I got cut off on my way to work today, and I didn't flip off the car next to me.
What puzzles me the most is why Orrville posters are even going after Genoa posters. Genoa is not the biggest fish in this pond, and there are a few other teams you should be more worried about. -
bwcomet89In a desperate attampt to try to get this thread off of a game that happened 10 months ago and has zero bearing on this year, who are some dark horses in this year's playoff picture? Also, are there any posters on this site from Ottawa Glandorf or Elyria Catholic?

1_beastTriways wins it all
-
RedRider1Someone mentioned it earlier.....this seems to be a 4-team region.
EC and OG are 1 & 2 in my book.
Orrville and Genoa have better than average odds
Then it drops off. Sure a team could come from nowhere, but I wouldn't bet a dime on it.
But some possible darkhorses to nab a home playoff game.....
Galion - Their next 2 are tough (at Columbian, vs Shelby), but if they win both, or even lose 1, they could finish 9-1 or 8-2 and a top 4 seed.
Triway - Their next 4 will decide their fate. Maybe only the Manchester game is a probable loss. But that puts them at 6-2, and probably an 8-2 finish. I wouldn't want to play them in a 4/5 or 3/6 matchup.
That's really all i see. -

Correct. But it WAS the Genoa fans saying their JV team would be playing in the 3rd or 4th quarter and saying they were going to continue their habit of kicking field goals on 3rd down in the red zone to "practice on their kicking game" and not to run up the score. Which was something we all (Orrville and non-Orrville fans alike) had fun with, since their missed PAT hurt them in the end. How ironic! -

5knotsIf I am you Pitman....I have my Columbian hat on over Huron and an Upper Sandusky T-shirt over Galion...If those two region 14 teams win it will start to make the playoff possibilities tougher and tougher for all. Of course I am assured you will keep your TY Tyger garb in the drawer since we are a fellow Wayne County team....you would never pull against the Riders in a game like that?
-
THE4RINGZIf you think Pitman has a Columbian or Huron hat, or a Upper Sandusky or Galion tee shirt, you obviously have not been paying attention.
It's all purple baby!!!!!!! -
RiderfanI sure loved reliving the Genoa game on here this week. I may be wrong, but I think the Genoa fans should know, we even won with are star runningback out most of the game with an injury. Still one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. Both teams played hard and give Genoa credit for not giving up when they were down early.

I also respect the SW part of the state too and they just beat a Kenton team that I really believed as the best in D4. Ottawa Glandorf and Kenton have a tremendous chance of rematching in the state title in my opinion. Also they could run through the region the way Genoa did 2 years ago, not blowouts but double digit wins in each game. I see Ottawa Glandorf doing something similar
