Division IV Region 14

bwcomet89I knew you were, I was just using your quote as a launch point. If I remember correctly, Woodmore fans/people familiar with the field feel free to chime in, the visiting coaches that generally sit up in the box in other areas stand at the top of the visiting bleachers. It's not like Woodmore's staff kicked them out of the press box, everyone's coaches have to sit in the stands.
-
thePITmanLoL @ this conversation. Anyone else think it's funny to see a Genoa fan complain about someone else's supposed lack of sportsmanship? I, too, would do whatever it took to give my team an advantage (within the rules). However, being part of a team for which I expect to be in a press box for what I do (statistician, with papers, etc.), when I was forced to do my job in the stands at Tuslaw one year (in the middle of our fans, trying to write down numbers on my lap battling heavy wind), I was pretty upset, you better believe. One thing all schools should have is room for opposing teams' staff.
-
RedRider1Right now...EC and OG are the class of the region. Genoa, Orrville, Clear Fork & Huron are in that 2nd tier.
A sleeper might be Galion....their next 2 (Tiff. Columbian and Shelby) are tough...but if they get through that, they could run the table.
Other than OG...I think Orrville has one of the most stout defenses in the region. -
birddog23Who does Galion have back from last years squad?
-
CCRollyThey lost just about everybody. Tons of new faces.
-
clickclickboomRight now OG is head and shoulders above everyone.. I dont know much about EC but they start 0-3 which is gunna hurt them.. Genoa is kinda a ? as they always are until playoffs and i doubt Huron will make much of a run. Orrville definately does have one of the biggest fan bases on the chatter. i'll give you that rider1.. cocky jerks yes but loyal fans without a doubt
-
OQBHow are the Orrville fans on here cocky jerks????
-
clickclickboomHere's a quote from last night, after Genoa's 57-0 win over some cupcake....by Genoa's Seth Dufendock (remember him, he was the one who got LIT UP on an Orrville punt return)
""It's just heart and determination," Dufendock said. "We gave up 24 points last year."
Too funny.....not counting the 36 Orrville scored on them. Guess they block out the bad memories.
I'd love nothing more than to rematch with them
HAHA, the coached told them to forget about that loss during their weekly candlelight heart to heart talks.
I wonder if any of their players have given obscene gestures to opposing teams yet, or if they just save that for the playoffs.
You guys are disrespecting a tradition that we are trying to establish at Genoa.. We don't have 20 playoff appearances but we've been snubbed a few times in the 70's as well.. We played the worst game in the past 3 yrs against Orrville and lost by 1.. You guys talk on here like it was a 20 point blowout.. You also have generalized one players action as the entire teams character you don't know what goes on over here in Genoa so why don't you live in your past(eventhough you don't have a regional championship in 11 years) Orrville was great in the 80s and 90s but haven't done much this decade except brag about their schedule, blame their schedule and bash other schools schedules.. give it a rest you haven't been a dominant program in years quit bashing on a team thats starting a tradition and has beaten OG in the past 3 yrs. -
5knotsThat crow must not be sitting too well from last year^^^^^
-
Old Riderclick...EC is 4-0! Your info is wrong!
As for not being a dominant program...maybe not as good as we have been in the 80's and 90's ....but it was good enough to beat you in 2009!
The only schedule we questioned was Genoa's just because we didnt think it was preparing you for the playoffs...and I guess we were right with that assumption.
No regional championships in 11 years is hard to swallow....but what was your point with that comment? We have 8 regional titles and 4 state title appearances....and you?
....let us know when your tradition is ....how did you put it? "starting"...maybe we can help in some way! -
BRFThis is gonna get good now! All the talk last year about the candlelight deal turned out to be hypocritical. You don't do that stuff and then have your best player do what he did. BTW, he should have been suspended from school for what he did. I am remembering all the bragging going along with the 60-0 poundings on that cupcake schedule, along with the field goal kicking on first downs. It wasn't just Orrville rejoicing over our win last year, it was pretty much all of Ohio that deals with your team that was rejoicing.
-
5knotsThey played the worst game in 3 years because we came out and smacked 'em pretty good right off the bat.....anyone remember that punt return in the 1st quarter?
-
clickclickboomYea ur "smack" is the reason our fullback didn't hear the check and ran the wrong play to fumble and we turned it over 2 other times in the first quarter.. all i'm saying is that right now Genoa has a better program and Orrville doesnt have to feel so jealous about it.. get your jollies from the win last year. it wasnt the true Genoa that you saw in the second half.. we were the better team and you can not deny that... I wasn't aware that we brag about the field goals as much as people ask and we tell them its to keep the score down wasnt it EC that had to forfeit the first 3 games due to an ineligible player.. i might be wrong because i've been having a life at college
-
Old Riderclick..."Genoa has a better program".....
Hey Orrville fans...did you read that. I am going to refrain from commenting anymore or even chatting with Genoa fans. WOW!....I can tell you are a college student and just graduated from high school with comments like that.
...anyhow
Ottawa Glandorf is the team to beat. I heard that EC may be under some sort of OHSAA rules violations but never heard the outcome of that. Can anyone varify a ruling or truth to this? -
clickclickboom^^ u mean the 3 games they forfeited that i told you about 2 posts ago? You seriously think that Orrville has had better teams in the past 3 years than Genoa?
-
Old RiderI was aware of the 3 games...thanks for the reminder though
We have played you once and were 1-0 during those 3 years... so yes, in my opinion we have had a better team.
You said a better "program" though and that means more than just the last 3 years to me... remember...you guys are still "starting your tradition".. with candlelight and rude gestures after a loss.....LOL -
clickclickboomVia Calpreps.com
[2007] Genoa (OH) 28, [2007] Orrville (OH) 17
[2008] Genoa (OH) 31, [2008] Orrville (OH) 21
[2009] Genoa (OH) 31, [2009] Orrville (OH) 27
[2010] Genoa (OH) 27, [2010] Orrville (OH) 22
LIke i said.. Genoa played our worst game of the past years that day and the result showed.. the better team did not win. plain and simple.. Program is the past few years whether a new coach or new athletes recruited brought in while giving their parents a jelly job.. just general ideas.. tradition is the boasting of what happened 20 years ago and living in that time while a new team comes by and gets a better program -
BRFLike Pete Franklin used to say, "you have your feet planted firmly in mid-air". Go study and lay off the bong.
-
Old RiderNow that is a typical Genoa Area post there...great stuff! LOL
Yep...the Calpreps picked you guys.......your the better program then. Sorry I said we are better....
yet another classic post from a Genoa fan.....be careful, don't fall in that hole your digging!
BRF...thats great! Yeah, the bong should be put away definately! Maybe thats what all the Genoa fans are doing during their tailgate "pow-wows". -
clickclickboomIm digging a hole by stating that a fairly accurate non biased prediction thing has genoa winning all 4 of those games? just because i don't LOL after all my posts doesnt make me an idiot
-
clickclickboomI have no idea what you guys are talking about with that bong statement..
-
RedRider1click,
there has been nothing official in terms of Ely. Catholic forfeiting anything. They were found in violation by the OHSAA...but Elyria City Schools (the ones who turned them in) did not ask for any games to be forfeitted as punishment. The punishment for the violation is yet to be made....they COULD be made to forfeit games...but as of right now, they're still 4-0 and on top of the region.
old rider.
your advice is the best....this is some cocky kid that can't or wont be reasoned with. We know our tradition, our post season success and how we schedule up to prepare us for week 11. Genoa will figure it out after a few more early exits...but by then, Vicars will leave for another school and their tradition probably stops with it. Wish them good luck against the small D-6 schools and we'll waive as we pass them in the computer polls.
With a win over Senior, we leap over Genoa, even if they max out their possible points. -
Old Rider.....no, but your last post took care of that!
Calpreps and any other predictions are just that...predictions. -
clickclickboomI feel like a guy making an argument against slavery in alabama in 1850.. You guys are so stupid its incredible. you find it hard to believe that anyone that has not won playoff games in the 80s could be any good in 2007-2010.. nobody can seriously think that Orrville was better than Genoa last year. its just stupid to even think that. Thank you for updating me on the EC stuff though i wasnt sure on that. Oh and computer rankings are the most pointless rankings in the world.. last year 8 beat 1 35-0 the year before 7 beat 2 57-12 ish i dont remember and the regional final in 2008 was 7 vs 4 go ahead and take your 1 seed in the region when's the last time the 1 seed won it?
-
clickclickboomyes and fairly accurate.. it tells someone who doesnt know who SHOUD win the game you know the BETTER team
