Division IV Region 14

We are looking at OSU for one and Akron for the other. Different majors and different personalities

I like Clear Fork by 14. I think Orrville does have a decent shot because they remind me a lot of Texas to Clear Fork's Nebraska, they just don't lose to em. Also it's a home game and a conference title shot as well but I mean just seeing what Clear Fork did to Ashland I just do not see them losing to Orrville. I mean 500 yards rushing is insane and even though McCune is a beast he also has 2 other backs that can support him in the run game and make plays on their own. One thing that I wonder is how is Clear Fork going to surprise Orrville considering they pulled every trick out of the bag on defense last week. That stuff won't fly a second week in a row if they've been scouted properly and I feel like Orrville has done that. Orrville has a chance to win but I can't go against the Colts considering their performance last week. As for Genoa well I'll find something else to do the next few Fridays and watch my phone blown up by score updates in the first half of the game. Honestly I am jealous of you OCC fans for getting to see big regular season games, I haven't seen one since Eastwood in 2008 although I guess Oak Harbor this year could count even though we didn't really know if they were gonna be good or not

Does anyone realize that Ashland's defense is horrible? The Arrows will lose in the first round because they won't be able to stop anyone...hence Clear Forks running attack blowing away the Ashland d. Orrville knows how to shut down the run game and they have proven that the past two years. I think a lot of you will be surprised at the outcome...when Orrville has a chip on their shoulder and has the swagger, they are really hard to beat. Genoa fans should know that from last year....
  • RedRider1
^^let's hope with that chip and swagger, that we decide to play 4 quarters of Orrville football. You go down 14-0 to this team...it's over.

No definitely skunks, you ever stop at Wal Mart over there, it stinks:)

Are you talking about the same defense against which Clear Fork scored 20 more points than Orrville? And when the game mattered, Clear Fork scored 42 points on Ashland's defense by the end of the 3rd quarter to Orrville's 14. Just sayin'...

But all match-ups are different. I'll give you that. But also, seeing as Orrville was touted as being a big-time running machine coming into this season and only putting up 1/3 the points against that "weak D" as Clear Fork did in that time, I'd be worried. Oh wait. I forgot. "Worried" is not in Orrville's vocabulary. ;)

1 more day and we'll find out what kind of team Orrville has. We don't really know yet. I know we are improving offensively and that had to happen. You don't just throw a soph QB in there and expect everything to be roses from the git go......of course we did expect that. haha. this game is CF run vs Orrville D period. If Orrville can control that machine we have a good chance of winning. If CF rolls on as usual we lose. I don't think we can outscore them in a shootout. I think Orrville D matches up as good as anyone CF has played. That doesn't mean squat.....for all we know CF has another gear no one has seen yet. I look for a very good game.
  • OQB
    Well said 5k.
  • RedRider1
By numbers alone....Lexington has been their best D they played. Lex has given up 157 pts on the year, Orrville has given up 165 (137 if you dont count the 4 INT's returned for TD's).

    CF scored 42 on Lex.

Orrville HAS to keep the game in the 20's to have a shot. You're not going to out-shoot them.

What do you do with a team that has 2 backs (McCune and Bellamy) averaging 8+ per carry. Bellamy averages 9.9 per carry by himself.

Tre, Max, Mason, Stew, Drew, Kyle, Matt. o-line, d-line...heck, the entire team needs to play perfect.
  • thePITman
Well said. If Orrville can take advantage of playing at home and have a great defensive game plan and keep it close while not letting CF chew up the clock, Orrville's "O" still has big-play ability and can turn a game around very quickly. If it's within striking distance in the 4th quarter, Orrvillle can win. But I agree, it's up to Orrville's D to keep it close.

    Good luck to both teams!

    Winners tonight:
    Clear Fork
    Elyria Cath.
    Genoa
    Triway
    Ottawa Glandorf
    Ontario
    Clearview

    Losers tonight
    Orrville
    Huron
    Galion
    Van Wert
    Eastwood
    Bucyrus

Top 5 stay the same , OG and Ontario move past Huron , didn't catch an Evergreen score, but Huron should be 8th ahead of Evergreen and Clearview.
  • OQB
I feel sorry for whoever plays Clear Fork....they will leave you stumped and shaking your head.
  • riders1
We could be playing them again:)
  • OQB
We would have to win week 11 first, and that is going to be a tough task.
  • riders1
Joe Eitel is up to date, as I figured
    1 CF
    2 EC
    3 Genoa
    4 Orrville
    5 triway
    6 OG
    7 Ontario
    8 Huron
    9 Evergreen
    10 Clearview
8 thru 10 are very close, any opponent win is the difference there.

    Looks good

How about a #4 Orrville vs #5 Triway at Orrville for the first week of playoffs or even better a rematch of Orrville and OG @ Orrville? Both seem like a very good test for this Riders team this year. CF suprised me with their 1st win ever against us and they are very deserving of the #1 seed rather than giving it to a Genoa team that goes undefeated but don't play anybody haha. Is there a good shot at Orrville staying at #4 with either outcome against wooster? Or if we win do we move up since wooster finally has a decent team and a record of 7 and 2? Personally id love to see a rematch of Orrville and OG played at Red Rider Stadium.

Pretty much looks like Orrville will be 3 with a win over Woo and Genoa will be 4. That puts Genoa hosting OG and the Riders in a rematch with Triway in Orrville. At least that's how I read the info?
  • OHSMacMoney34
Well i'd love too see a rematch of the Orrville Triway game at home again. I live with 2 either current or alumni of Triway high school and i'd love rubbing it in again when Orrville beats up on the titans again haha but it is 9 weeks later soo Triway could've changed a lot since the first meeting. Personally i'd rather get OG at home and beat them and get a little payback. Soo what if Orrville loses to the ugly (woo)? Would god's team in Genoa jump us to the #3 spot and us stay at #4? Just one last comment...earlier this season I do believe I read on this thread about how genoa fans were "hating" on the OCC saying it stood for ohio's crappiest conference but now they are sayin that us OCC teams are lucky too see such great games in the regular season haha. Looks like we clinched a home game no matter what?
  • RedRider1
    Here's how I see it....

Orrville wins...we finish 3rd (by a half a point at most over Genoa)....and host Triway. If Genoa jumps us for 3rd...we finish 4th and would host OG

If we lose to Wooster, we should still finish 4th and host Triway. If we lose and OG wins, we travel to OG.

It's looking like Titans...either Triway or OG.

    Here's all the details...
