Your signature is amusing. Where was Genoa prior to the last 4 years? No titles since 1994?? It will be interesting to see what happens to the program once Vicars moves on. I'm sure you will be just as classy then.

As long as WH is in the OCC, you're not going to get many 2nd level points from them. You're right though...most years Waynedale is a good opponent to have.

I do think a decent middle of the road team in central Ohio in a bigger division (maybe like a Mans. Madison) would be a nice points game for you.

Everyone has room for improvement in their schedules, and we're no different; but having 3 intense backyard rivals as our 3 non-league games fits us perfectly. The fact that at least 2 of them (Waynedale, Orrville) normally have successful seasons and the other (West Holmes) being a bigger school (DIII), it can help us a little bit. But we just have to win games. Period. Then worry about the rest later.

I would like to see us bring Dover back. If not them a Wadsworth, Jackson, or Timken would be nice bigger opponents, but winnable games. Leave Triway for basketball...

I'm sorry our 8 wins is not enough for you.
  • OQB
you don't have 8 wins yet.....

    We did last year.

LoL, no thanks. I appreciate the offer.

I predicted eight wins this season and unless lightening strikes I will be correct.

We didn't get the second level points this year because the PAC is a little down this year.
  • OQB
haha ok just thought I'd offer! :D

I just think it was better when we had Dover on the schedule, and I know a lot of other people who do too. Nothing against Triway, but I like that rivalry for basketball...not football.

Still Waynedale is DV with a mostly DV and DVI schedule which leaves .5 to a full 1 point less for you than a decent 4 to 6 wins from a DIII or DIV school which .5 to 1 last year would have put you ahead of us.

That 0.5 extra would have gotten divided by 10 (our number of games played) and then the L2's divided by 10 as well (multiplied by 10 then divided by L2 divisor of 100), so that 0.5 wouldn't have bumped us over you. Speaking of local rivals which we like to schedule, though, I've always wanted to schedule Wooster, and maybe soon we'll be able to work that out. Having 3 OCC non-league games could help us in the long run, I think, both playing up division-wise and competition-wise.
  • riders1
The .5 is after the math , we had a total of 203.5 full value points, you had 202.5 full value , after the 10th game simply move your decimal over one spot to finish at 20.35 and 20.25 and add that .5 to that and you have 20.75 moving ahead of us. You had 1 less level 2 point than we did, say the difference between 1 win against a DIII to a DV. ( 5 pts to 4 pts.)

Gotcha. I think I misread your first post incorrectly.

Sour grapes? Ha take your Runner Up awards and go home. Don't forget Genoa was pretty solid in the 70s and 80s

He'll see the talent level decrease and look for something bigger....bound to happen.

    Is that a double negative ? :)

Talent level looks pretty good in grades coming up! That should in no way be the case for him leaving in the next few years at least... Not to say he wont leave, just saying it won't be because of lack of talent.
  • OQB
lol recruiting the pee wee leagues in NW ohio huh getting talent in the system early....:D haha all in fun!
  • GCTD64
Lol.. Not exactly but there are some good athletes in the younger grades (8th-Juniors). I see no reason we would be short of talent in coming years.
  • OQB
haha, thank you for not gettin ticked off at that! Sounds like Genoa has a great thing going for them. And for their sake, I hope Vicars does stay he has done some great things there.

I just don't understand the reasoning behind putting that about Eastwood in your sig. Did Genoa finish second each of the 5 years of Eastwood's run? I don't think so.
