The mayor of Oakland is freaking out and investigating the placement of these in a local park as a hate crime. The black guy that put them up came forward and explained that they are swings meant for play and exercise. Who, in their right, sane, mind, looks at these and thinks "OH MY GOD THIS IS A HATE CRIME! THESE ARE NOOSES!" I mean FFS.

Somehow that Meet Joe Black scene loses it's humor for me when it's a real person.

But I can't believe with all these people swarming cars like has been happening the past few years at protests that no one has been seriously injured.  And there's no telling if the DA would rule it self-defense or throw the book at you.  If it's not caught on camera you'd probably be screwed.

Just another example of play stupid games. No jury is convicting you fearing for your life and driving off. There have been a ton of videos of cars hitting people recently, this one was just a funny one. 

Apparently there was pressure on the Texas Rangers to change their name because of the connection to the police. That’s got to be the biggest reach yet. Idk why people care. Not like baseball is coming back anytime soon.

The first two gunshot victims, 1 died, inside the CHAZ. Everyone is SHOCKED! 

Just saw video on FB of them breaking into and looting a Wells Fargo in Minneapolis. Must have been 100 “peaceful protestors” in the video. 
 

Couple things..

1. Anything worth value was already in the safe or taken out of this branch weeks ago. 
2. No one in the video was smart enough to break into a safe. It took them like 5 minutes to use a sledgehammer to break into the bullet proof glass at the drive through. 
 

3. I hope this is the one place Wells Fargo has the paperwork for my home mortgage and it got burners/lost. That would make my day...

I don't know if I would necessarily draw that conclusion.  I do think we had a perfect storm for gun crime to surge: pandemic (many people went out and bought guns), anxiety & more drinking & bunch of other mental issues exacerbated by stay-at-home orders, and 40M unemployed.

I am seriously considering getting a gun.  I'm not convinced this is the once-a-century pandemic.  Spanish flu was probably 50 times worse (upwards of 3% of the global population - 250M people today), and after we've seen what Covid-19 that should scare the shit out of everyone.  I don't know how they kept things going back then, on the heels of WWI nonetheless, because I can't imagine anything less than complete chaos if that happened today.

Sean King is a tool. Yeah, these idiots that are taking down other monuments are missing the whole point. These are complicated issues and people are just being stupid and rash. 

The Teddy statue was on the docket to take down for years. Apparently, the statue has some other elements that are pretty racist.
