Dude's pants are a liability. Give them a yank, trip the jackass, and run at the very least. The dude is bigger than I am, but I'm not going to sit there and grovel.

I don't know about everyone else, but my fight or flight instinct is STRONG. If you want to beat my ass you're going to have to work for it.

Unless the blow got me completely disoriented, he'd be taking the room temperature challenge.

This guy appears neutered.  A good video to show a son when the topic of how to deal with a bully comes up.  My old man told me a bully "must" be hit back even if you lose the overall fight.

I agree with your overall sentiment but Gundy’s thing was just so dumb and unnecessary. You put a shirt on in the morning and best case scenario no one really notices it. Worst case you offend people most important to your job, which he managed to do. Just poor judgement on his part. Also, prominent college coach or not, everyone knows that network is trash so why even support it in the first place.

Naw fuck that, I can't even get behind calling it dumb and unnecessary.  The dude just put a shirt on.  GOD FORBID!! People would have cried if he wore a FOX News shirt too.  I can't imagine in this current climate that people would try to cancel him if he wore a huffington post shirt (or various other trash left leaning sources, but if they did, that would be trash too.  I am willing to bet 100% of those players on that roster have heard and seen worse.

It is also the name...Aunt Jemima is in the same ballpark as say Uncle Tom or any other Minstrel Show type.

Dixie Chicks are up next.

https://nypost.com/2020/06/17/is-it-time-for-the-dixie-chicks-to-rethink-their-name/?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=NYPTwitter&utm_medium=SocialFlow

I thought of them after the Lady A. thing. My wife is a big Chicks fan, been one since day 1. Her thoughts were they would just shorten the name to the Chicks as everyone already knows who they are. They have a new album coming out soon and may change it then or once they go back out on tour.

It was OAN... they are fucking nuts and crazy that put out some crazy conspiracy theories about the protests. It was not cancel culture from angry liberals. It was the players saying nope, that is too far and we need to talk about this.  I mean he might as well as had on a QAnon shirt. Given the current client, players are using their platform to encourage change and dialogue. I don't see how this is a bad thing.

Maybe. Maybe not. If it even sounds quasi racist, firms should just change their names now. As I've said in other threads, this is a larger discussion about eliminating any vestuges of language from Lost Cause/ Jim Crow times.

So does/is CNN.  Should we cry when someone wears a CNN shirt now? Like I said, I would bet anything we would see the same reaction if he wore a FOX News shirt.   Hell, there is plenty of time for it to happen.  I would not be shocked.  Don't be so naive.

If players get upset at a coach for wearing a CNN or Fox shirt, then we can talk.....

Exactly. Usually the people (not speaking particularly about like that) That say well let’s  just make everything about race/racist  usually have a problem saying anything is about race/racist. They often use nonsensical examples that don’t happen or wouldn’t happen ie. Let’s remove MLK statues because... blah blah blah

Guys, what the hell?

The mean streets of Bethel just got meaner!

No news coverage of the protests in Johnstown, NE of Columbus.  However, the only thing that was going to be in danger of those well fed white women was any buffet in the area....

What was the point of him saying he had a record  and knew he was going to jail? Serious question. You didn’t say it but what did u insinuate?

He was contradicting the earlier statement that he didn't know he was going to jail or there was a chance he wasn't going to jail as "not all arrests go to jail".

He even quoted the post he was referring to if I remember right. So he was saying that the man KNEW he would go to jail BECAUSE he had a record and was just only let out on probation due to COVID-19.

That's all he was saying, he never insinuated he deserved to die due to having a record. So, like I said, and SnL proved me right, only a moron would believe that he meant he deserved to die because he had a record.

He was just pointing out that the man knew he would go to jail as a counter point to the earlier post that not all those who are arrested go to jail.

If you look for racism in everything, you're probably going to find it, even if it doesn't exist.

Why not just address the douche who’s come back and fought with literally every member on the site.

Yeah, sorry for calling someone a moron because they were acting like a moron. I can honestly say I don't think I have called anyone on this site a moron other than SnL.

I will stop however, just for justin's sanity.

Don't forget Gundy almost got cancelled for wearing a news network t-shirt (albeit a dumb one that Trump loves to tweet about and is 100% biased right). 2020 is really stupid, and you still have these hippy clowns causing havoc in Seattle and Portland (Paris and London too). A little glimpse into the future if we continue to let people who feel entitled get their way. They stopped having anything to do with Floyd  about 2 weeks ago.

To be fair, OAN is no more biased than MSNBC is on the other side. Fox is like CNN and OAN is like MSNBC.

I would love to see if anyone ever has got "cancelled" for wearing an MSNBC shirt...

I'd like to clarify that I don't care what Quaker Oats does, but I find it nothing more than corporate virtue signaling.

Aunt Jemima is based off a very awful stereotype and Minstrel show type. It needs to go. I am also shocked it lasted this long.   It is not virtue signaling. It is something they should have ton years ago.

I'll add if anyone does get the chance to see the African American museum in DC, the Minstrel show portion of the museum is pretty damning and whoa.

The UVA one does seem like a stretch. But, sure.

To be honest, until today when I heard about Aunt Jemima I didn't know anything about the background of the caricature. Once I did a little research on where the caricature came from, I agree, it should have been gone awhile ago.

Plus, Mrs. Butterworth's is way better anyway.

And the UVA thing is utterly stupid.
