They're not trying to get rid of public schools they are just looking to defund them and move the money to other more appropriate places where it will do more good especially since the school systems won't reform themselves.

Lol S&L still agrees after it was proven wrong. Can’t fix stupid. 

The police were defunded in 2008 and crime skyrocketed. Police have millions of interactions with people daily and almost all are without incidents. I think improvements can be made like eliminating no knock warrants, decriminalizing weed, and making police take classes yearly or every other year on the newest deescalation techniques. 

I think we need to take justice reform further by improving the prison system and probation system. There are so many young people who get caught in the system because of probation that they keep in and out their whole lives for minor crimes. 

We also need more police and community interactions especially in minority neighborhoods. How many children are taught to fear the police and not to “snitch”. Instead lets have more community policing where children get to know the officers on their streets and develop relationships so they are not afraid and willing to report crimes to the police. 

Also if we wanna get rid of police unions I’m all for it but let’s also look at other state funded worker unions like teacher unions as well.

Also hilarious that the dipshit mayor of Portland, who has had riots for 50 straight nights (no they don’t actually care about BLM), is mad that Federal Police came to start arresting people because he’s an incompetent moron.

I'm not unopposed to the feds stepping in as the situation in Portland is a mess, but the fact they were not properly IDed or the local government was not involved is not right. 

Everyone on here should be wary of the feds just coming in without proper ID. 

Saw a black cop from Portland on tv the other night.  And he was absolutely disgusted about "routinely being subjected to racial insults by privileged white millenials...told he should quit his job....that he was contributing to systemic oppression of black people".

I just don't understand how Portland is tolerating these Antifa thugs.  Have there been any calls to recall the Mayor/Governor and hold a special election?
