You were going from a hospital to the gym, and you expect me to believe you’re upset by people not following the rules on this? Okay.

You think your odds of ending up on a ventilator will be reduced because you stayed inside for a few months but I don't understand things? Okay.

Don't know how else to explain it to you man. When life opens back up everything is going to be play at your own risk. Only difference is if you and a ton of others get sick, the hospitals will at least likely have that vent for you. The odds of getting deathly sick haven't been reduced...

And you talk about playing loose with the facts...

This guy claims hospitals in Florida and California are "empty".  Okay, if he says so.  In reality, a little checking will show that hospitals in hard hit areas are not empty.  And in other areas where they have open beds, it's a lot due to them cancelling elective / non-urgent procedures in order to free up beds in preparation of maybe needing them for COVID patients.

I get that right wingers desperately want this to prove to be a politically motivated hoax or scam.  The newest one is that doctor's declare someone dead from COVID-19 regardless of other conditions.  Again, a little digging will see that a conspiracy between thousands of doctors across the world to falsify or exagerate the cause of death would be impossible.

Why can't you just accept that it is a serious crisis, that no one knows the ceiling, that perhaps - just perhaps - people in charge are trying to make decisions they think are most beneficial to us and not making everything about US politics.

Nothing that I’m saying has anything to do with me getting sick. I’m a healthy young person, if I get this I’m sure I’ll be fine. I stay inside so that I don’t get it and keep passing it along to others. You know, the ACTUAL reason for social distancing rules.

A bright spot of this pandemic, it appears there's a new Cannonball record. The new record was just set after previously being broken in November. Of course, this is a perfect time to make the drive with fewer cars on the road and potentially fewer cops patrolling certain areas.

I could not imagine driving from New York to LA in under 27 hours...

The few times I have driven on the 270 loop since this happened and man there have been a number of folks going near 100+.  Usually so busy you cannot let loose but have been seeing a numver of folks using this time as an indy 500 time trials.

A quick perusal of right wing talking point generators (Rush, Hannity & Fox, Brietbart, Alex Jones, etc) will confirm this.  For sure there are plenty of left wing conspiracy nut jobs as well.  But they are not the problem with this immediate situation.

Lol, yeah. Agree to disagree. When things open back up here soon I guess continue to stay inside because your odds of passing it to someone haven’t went down.

Wouldn't this be riskier than riding around in your car?

National coronavirus response: A road map to reopening

Key Points

  • This report provides a road map for navigating through the current COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. It outlines specific directions for adapting our public-health approach away from sweeping mitigation strategies as we limit the epidemic spread of COVID-19, such that we can transition to new tools and approaches to prevent further spread of the disease.
  • The authors outline the steps that can be taken as epidemic transmission is brought under control in different regions. They also suggest measurable milestones for identifying when we can make these transitions and start reopening America for businesses and families.
  • In each phase, the authors outline the steps that the federal government, working with the states and public-health and health care partners, should take to inform the response. This will take time, but planning for each phase should begin now so the infrastructure is in place when it is time to transition.

Riding around in your car is fine, most health experts have said that’s okay to do. Doing some dumbass parade for a young child is really stupid and makes police officers have to come out and stop it, and then dumbasses complain that the cops are putting people at risk by showing up when they’re only showing up because people decided to have a parade for a fucking 3 year old.

Can’t you guys just stay inside? I mean it’ll be like a month or two more. You have to drive around, do birthday party parades, let your kids play with other kids, etc. I mean is it really that difficult for you guys to just stay inside?

You said riding around in your car is fine.  If my parade involves "riding around in my car," how is one bad vs. the other?  I'm driving by someone's house, laying on the horn, and waving.  I'm not getting out to have sexual intercourse with everyone (allegedly).

We have my nieces birthday party tomorrow. We are going along with grandpa and other cousins. Staying in our own cars, parking on the side of the street and signing happy birthday to her as she walks down the sidewalk. Then driving home. OH THE HUMANITY OF A PARADE!

Go walk around Chicago for some fresh air and tell me how that’s safer...? You can’t. So shut the fuck up.

And O-Trap may have a mutant kid if staying cooped up isn’t killing his family. We have an 11mo old so it’s fine, but his cousins are 4 and 2, and they just throw tantrums all day because they can’t do anything. I don’t know how a parent of a toddler is able to survive this with their sanity.

Your niece is as good as dead.

And dealing w/ 2 year old tantrums all day, alcohol is the only cure, and sometimes letting her be around the neighbor kids (4 of them, not touching them, outside). I couldn't imagine living in an apt w/ kids and in a place that's cold during this. It has been 70's/80's and sunny, and we have a big enough yard for her to play in.

Since we're talking about a child's birthday party, I'd hope you're not going to have sex with everyone. That's just wrong. And illegal.

It’s the most logical option and will definitely allow for a better party.
