My county has .0002% of the population with this.  Can someone tell me again why we are shut down?

I was just telling DLazz this weather blows and there’d probably be some fucking quad meet today with Dixie, TVS, and Northmont’s C team on top of it.

So, are the hospitals all ramped up to handle this shit yet? Or are we locked down for the remainder of the fucking year?

There are temporary hospitals going up in a lot of major cities. My company supplies oxygen to a good % of the hospitals around the US.

Not my department, but I have heard about the temporary hospitals. Cincinnati is putting one up here in OH.

I truly believe that most of these temporary hospitals will never see a patient.

This is a (literal) ton of prevention.

Yesterday there were 6,518 cases in the state and today will probably be around 7K. Does that include all people diagnosed from back in mid-March until now? Or are they removing the people from that count who’ve recovered.

It is the total.  Most stats I have seen keep the running total and then as people are recovered they are moved to a seperate number.  So subtract the recovered from the total and you have active cases.

If you take the cases in my county related to the nursing home outbreak that arent part of the general population the number of infections goes to .00013.

So once again, is the prevention actually worth 25% unemployment?  In my county....no.

If you are willing to provide the state with a sample of your blood they may provide you with papers certifying you to engage in some "non-essential" economic activity.  Or you can risk it and possibly end up in one of their leper colonies.

Who exactly should be quarantined? Would you lump yourself into that group?

Everyone age X and older? All obsese people? Diabetics? Ashmatic? Who cares for these people? Gets them groceries and other supplies? Do you seal them off in their homes?

If you are the professional and are giving projections to the entire society, you sure as hell want your numbers to be accurate.

He didn't figure out how to read the parts of DeWine's daily reports where it states that all numbers are believed to be low due to limited testing being available. Or apparently remember stuff (some of which he's even said on this site) about how the freaky thing about this disease is how it doesn't necessarily even have real effects on some people (the asymptomatic ones), but that those people can still infect others. So he's still got a ways to go before anything he posts is actually worth reading. I mean, since it's CC, that should be assumed on virtually every topic more serious than properly picking dodgeball teams, but that doesn't stop him from trying to contribute!

Just got an email, one of my best friends from work lost both grandparents to it over the weekend.

I don't know if this is tinfoil hat type stuff, and I am NOT saying this is true to your best friend's situation.  But I'm curious if there are any deaths that are because of other reasons, but "COVID" is slapped on it.  Could be because 1) it's easier 2) political reasons (tinfoil), etc.

Like the skydiver meme, "Skydiver without parachute dies of COVID"  I would not put it past the media one bit to report COVID deaths that aren't actually related to COVID.  If I have COVID and I die in an automobile accident, to me, COVID shouldn't reach the news at all... but we all know that it would, for the clicks.

371 new cases today....6 straight days 330-375....over last 5 days the 5 day hospital stays and ICU admissions have decreased
