Edwards not wrestling for Walnut Ridge
Perry & Burton not wrestling for Whetstone

Still haven't verified Wellborn & King from Marion-Franklin, Fair & Roundtree from Independence.

Anyone know their situations or who else lost/added wrestlers to their lineups??
Do we know any weights for the above kids that are wrestling?

This time kept it competitive until around the end of the 2nd period. It helps that these two are basically drilling partners now. I think Tyler takes 1st at city, but hopefully Eryn can pick up some steam and score high for us. What is the story on Lambert from Centennial? Is he wrestling? I know when we dualed them I think he had yet to have made weight. Eastmoor heavyweight is tough. I think 285 goes likes this:

    1. Briggs
    2. West, Eastmoor, Northland, Centennial? or Sleeper
Eastmoor Northland and Centennial had a tri on wednesday. Ray from ea beat both Harris (n) and Lambert (c). If the match had gone 6:30 lambert probably would have beat ray. Waits is a beast.

On a side note, Linden's heavyweight beat Ray (ea). Some Linden kids have been left out of the conversation. They have a very nice 160 and there heavyweight has beat some guys.

    King was 160 & Wellborn 195
    Fair was 106 & Roundtree 138

Freeman at 160 and Adams at 285 are good for Linden, just not sure they're in the top 4.....we'll see!
I like Ray and think he could challenge Poeschel for the title.....again, we'll see!! : thumbup:

There may be a wrestler or two that goes unmentioned, especially if their coach doesn't bring him, or her, to light. That's the reason 80baby and I have been asking for thoughts/comments. Thnx McLuvn, er McGlori!! ;):RpS_lol:

The city duals championship on the 29th at WR will be our final evaluation/analysis!

My team rankings have changed slightly due to updated info:

    1. Walnut Ridge.....clear favorite
    2. West................Lou Holtz syndrome, lol
    3. Centennial........if full or close to full lineup
    4. Whetstone........full lineup
    5. Mifflin..............won't have enough bullets in the gun
  • It is what it is
80baby & I will be in attendance at the duals championship at WR to see lineups (who does or does not have a full lineup; think WR, W & WH will, but doubt C will) and finalize several positions (key matchups likely to wrestle) at various weight classes.
Should be a very competitive night! Looking forward to it!! : thumbup:

*my pick is WR over W for 1st and WH over C for 3rd.
  • It is what it is
Whetstone over Mifflin 52-28 @ state dual, congrats to them! : thumbup:

Unfortunately, they had to face Westerville North as a result!

city duals finals tomorrow! Can't wait!! : thumbup:

What's going on at Independence? Who do they still have wrestling and at what weights? Do they still have a team?
  • Tjones85
IT is What it IS...whetstone needed that level of competition to get ready to be prepared for sectionals its hard to get better unless we face good...really good! Like westerville north, marysville, del hayes ect...With much of the league being D2 it puts the few D1 teams at a disadvantage at sectionals since much of the league faces its self. I know the teams that have been D1 in the past took much heat because they didn't want to wrestle the league, which is not so much the case. Its more those teams have had to face D1 teams to get prepared for the post season. As much as the city league tournament means its still not a sectional. And REAL post season is why we do this.

Direct quote I just received from assistant coach Floyd Cisco, "Yes we still have a team, you all that doubt that need to suck it, hard." :RpS_lol:

I understand the point, I actually spent several years in DI , before coming back to the city. I was simply passing on my condolences because A LOT of teams, DII or DI, don't look forward to facing WN! lol!! To me, the city means very little (others think otherwise....hence the questioning of teams and a "particular" coach.... which to me is way off base and asinine!) GL at sectionals and hope to see u at Darby...if we somehow make it there! : thumbup:

Just didn't want to drop I-High wrestlers off the rankings if they're still there.

Congrats to Walnut Ridge, last night was alot of fun. Not sure why Centennial and Whetstone did not wrestle for 3rd/4th?

Next year's dual seeds go as follow:

Therefore seeding for next year's city dual tournament goes as such:

    1. Walnut Ridge
    2. West
3/4 Whetstone/Centennial - decided by their year end dual.
    5. Mifflin
    6. Eastmoor
    7. Independence
    8. Africentric
    9. Marion Franklin
    10. Linden McKinley
    11. Northland
    12. Briggs
    13. South

If any schools pick up teams they will add in at the bottom, if any schools drop teams everyone moves up one, again remember HOST SITES ARE ENTIRELY TO THE DISCRETION OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES. We can discuss with student activities at our seeding meeting the thought of moving our duals up past the end of the grading period. BTW anyone from student activities show up last night?

May want to look at having the duals a week or two later so teams have time to prepare.
