Let's get ready to cheer on the Nittany Lions as they "ROAR" into town for a dual tomorrow vs. Ohio St.!

    We Are.....PENN STATE!! : thumbup:
  • Fatmanroll>Peterson
Had a great time at the OSU Penn State dual today. Buckeyes pulled out a great win. West, Briggs, Independence, Marion Franklin, and Northland wrestlers in attendance.

Sweet and remember on Feb 6th is the big on at the Schott! Just a reminder that we can order group tickets using the CDWCA discount and we get all the perks that come with large group ticket purchase.

Nice. Great experience for those kids.

As much as I hate to admit it, OSU did a great job! I thought there were 5 swing matches (125, 133, 157, 184, 197) and PSU had to win 3 or 4 of them...only got 2!

Kinda wish Megaludis, Retherford & A. Alton were in the lineup, but we'll be loaded next year! : thumbup:

Then and only then you will be "Inside (The Columbus City League) Circle". : thumbup:

I saw both of these guys at the East Knox tournament in December and was very impressed with both of their's performances. Should make some noise in post season. I heard Gabe may go down to 106 come sectionals?
  • It is what it is
Is McGlown at 220, thought he was 195?

    It's possible, but I don't see Jackson making 106.

Fort at 160 will be tough as well as Nixon at 132.

I will update my rankings after Thursday's duals (Herm, we can collaborate if u want...I'm by no means "THE" expert!) ;)
  • Fatmanroll>Peterson
Dual Championship has been rescheduled to TBD. When I know I will post it on here. Whetstone has a match at Columbus Academy Thursday night and student activities is rescheduling our league match for it.
  • 80baby
Wow an outside meet is more important than our "League Team Dual Championships". Someone said stop posting stuff that makes since on here but this to me makes no since at all. Okay I understand that a team has a dual scheduled the same day that the Team Dual Finals was moved to: Wait a minute no one checked to see if any of the teams had anything scheduled that day before rescheduling the meet? My bag that makes too much since. I have this feeling that the meet will be moved into next month trying to work around State Team Dual's and everyone's schedule. Let's just wait and see when it happens after all "it is what it is".

Yes sir we can get together and work on our league rankings. So coaches if you have a kid that you feel is worth ranking send his info to B or I and we'll put them in the mix.

SA.......a mind is a terrible thing to waste! lmao!! :RpS_lol:

Why not do it Wednesday? Wouldn't interfere with basketball and no team has a conflict (West has a jv meet at OO, but I'm sure 1 of their assistants could cover it).

Here are the potential dates are working on.
    Wednesday January 21
    Thursday January 22
    Thursday January 29
    Saturday January 31
    Thursday February 12
    Saturday February 14
    Wednesday/Thursday before city championship (18/19)

Trying to do sooner rather than later in case of another weather cancellation. Waiting to hear from other schools.
  • It is what it is
Looks like conflicts in January and February 14th, so Feb. 12th might be the only option.

wow, according to Centennial's schedule, that would have them wrestling 4 days in a row (Wed tri meet and 2-day tourney Fri & Sat)!

Yes, Centennial was very flexible and accommodating for our league. Whetstone, not so much.

Good stuff. @ 152 Seiber (W) quit so he is out. @ 160 Rogers (W) has pinned Fort (MF) but got majored to Ramirez (C) and at Heavy I am 100% but I think the Briggs kid beat the Northland kid. Also watch out for the Eastmoor kid at Heavy.
  • It is what it is
Thanks for info! Noted and adjusted. I was at that match when Rogers pinned Fort and I like Rogers a lot, but not sure he beats Fort again (could be wrong!). I, too, think Ray from EA could be very dangerous at city.

A few guys I'm not sure of due to not seeing their names or any results: Perry (WH) at 113, Bolden (N) at 132, Oyelami (BR) at 145/152, Edwards (WR) at 285.
  • 80baby
You can take Oyelami BR out. After this weekend I should have a clearer picture of where some of these kids are at there's only a few teams that I haven't seen on the mat and after next weekend I will have seen everyone. I have to bring this up but it never fails there could be a few kids that won't make the grades and they could be removed form the rankings and on the other side there could be a few new kids to talk about. So this weekend we'll have a real good look at the kids that will be on the mat next month and right into the post season. Also a few of these kids will be at different weight classes in a few weeks which will change some of the rankings. As always a few coaches might move some kids around just for the City meet which can change a few things. Just to get it started the team race will come down to the 3rd to 6th place finishers and how many quality points they can score on the back end. When I do my team rankings it will only be for our League Championship Tournament.
  • It is what it is
Agree on seeing everyone (finally get to see WR this weekend) and grades. As far as our lineup goes, we have a few good guys, a few solid guys, some fillers and we won't fill 1 or 2 weight classes.

IT IS WHAT IT IS! :RpS_lol:

btw, those initial team rankings are projected city championship standings.
