Because there is video and he doesn’t have a knife in his hand as he approaches the car? Also we just went through seven pages of you guys saying he threatened the officers with a knife?

There was something in his hand, are we sure it wasn't a knife? I haven't heard that confirmed nor denied. Video isn't clear enough to deduct what it was, although some are saying it was a karambit in his hand the whole time.

How come no one has really backtracked on the whole "they could have used their tasers" argument? Reports are they were used. I'm really not sure what I would have done in the same situation, no matter what race.

Not a Child rapist

That's a first I've ever heard that claim. What brought this post on?

The first death caused by Kyle Rittenhouse was a convicted sex offender -- Joseph Rosenbaum. Convicted in Arizona in 2002 for committing an act of sexual misconduct with a child. He's a level 3 offender (high risk of reoffending and a general danger to surroundings). For this felony, the victim as under the age of 15. He committed 42 separate disciplinary infractions while incarcerated, he was released in 2016. He had battery charges pending as domestic abuse filed last month.

Lots of people were saying Jacob Blake raped a 14 or 16 year old girl

It takes what about 1-2 seconds to turn around and lunge. If your within 7’ feet of someone with a knife your within striking distance.

So they tried to stop him. Then they tried non lethal force with a taser and that did not work. Then he went into an area with a deadly weapon while struggling with an officer. If he can’t shoot then when can he shoot once he’s already been stabbed?

My comment was meant to be facetious. No matter what happened before, when he tries to get in his car, I ventilate him.

I don’t k ow what people want the police to do in this situation except maybe fire a couple less shots.

The police tried to arrest him. He then resisted. They then tried non deadly force and unfortunately that didn’t stop him. Then still fighting with the officer he reached for a deadly weapon.

The police tried to make a normal arrest they tried to use non lethal force and then finally turned to lethal force when he went for a deadly weapon. That seems like the proper escalation.

The knife was on the floorboard of the drivers seat within reach once he opened the door.

I think George Floyd was horrible policing. I think Breonna Taylor’s death is because of a horrible policy and no knock warrants should be eliminated. I have no problems with the officers in Wisconsin.

This is what I don’t get. Not sure why this was what people decided to take such a big stand on. There is obviously racial injustices in this country, but this ain’t it.

Can a car be considered a deadly weapon?

So were kids in the car or not?  If so, were they in the proper child restraints?  Did he have permission to take them in the vehicle?  Was there reason to believe he was impaired?

These are just some thoughts I've had and I apologize if any of these questions have already been covered.

So did he have a knife in his hand or was it in the car? Serious question.

I never said a knife was in his hand. The reports are that it was on the floorboard. Blame bad reporting but it doesn’t change what happened.

Better training would be a good start. 1 dude who had already been tasered shouldnt be able to get free from 3+ cops. Like, ever.

You have now proven my earlier comment, that you will defend the black perpetrator regardless of the facts that come out of what actually happened.

How about we try to agree with where the facts end up. For instance, let’s agree that George Floyd was most likely murder based on the facts.  This one, however, was probably a justified shooting now that the facts have come out.

You can’t be on one side all the time regardless of what happened, let the facts fall where they are and then create your opinion. Your opinion can’t be determined before the facts come out and then stay there even if the facts go against you.

I was trying to determine what the facts are that we can agree on not defend anyone. It makes a huge difference imo if he had the knife and was threatening people with it or it was just randomly in his car. I wanted to know what your opinion was at this time. Not sure why that is such a big deal

Also I said 5 pages ago I didn’t think this cop would ever serve time for this. That being said just because it may have been a legal shooting doesn’t mean he had to shoot him. Let alone 7 times. It’s ok to disagree tho
