I live in Chicago and everyone just wears a mask and it’s not a big deal at all.

Well, Chicago isn't really open yet, is it?

This is spiking in most states, including many liberal states.  IMO, it's not a "muh rights" thing but a self-centered millenial thing.

It is mostly open.

You think it’s Millennials who are anti masks? What?

The spike in cases appears to be coming from bars, colleges and mostly 20-30 something people.

So, yeah, there's a bunch of fucking millennials that aren't practicing social distancing or wearing masks.  LA is a huge hotspot and it doesn't get much less "muh rights" than there.

The idea that it's only a bunch of rednecks not wearing masks because of Trump is just your run of the mill libtardism being pushed by CNN.

Trump country.

Most voted for and worships a guy who refuses to wear a mask and says they’re worthless. Essentially we live amongst a bunch of Quakers and Spocks.

Nah... I see it everyday with family and co workers and Facebook feed and so on and so forth  it’s not a CNN push.

Right, but the point is a lot of Democrats aren't wearing masks, either.  It's not political, it's selfish people who aren't wearing a mask because they aren't concerned about contracting it.

You’re not wrong. But in my experience, be it at work or kids school or even in my family, it’s overwhelming Trump supporters who are anti mask.

I don’t agree with that at all.

I’m not even saying it’s rednecks or trump supporters. I actually asked the question “why are people in Ohio having such a problem wearing a mask?” Not insinuating it’s political.

I don’t think people are testing positive for covid with a little thing that says “you got this at the bar you entitled millennial”

Unfortunately, it is political. The majority of the anti-mask people I know are indeed Trump supporters who are crying about their rights. I mean they cover their dick, balls and/or breasts to go into a store because they have to, but a small piece of fabric over their face is "unconstitutional."

I doubt it....i still dont know one person that has corona.  In the county I live in, there hasnt been more then 200 cases and less then 5 deaths that arent part of a nursing home

You realize that your small Ohio town isn’t a representation of the US, right?

I do. I thinks he's one of the many, if not most, who pick and choose facts and pseudo-facts to support his preconceived opinion.

You can be anti-mask yet still wear one when mandated and still social distance. All the protesters seem to be pro mask but they sure as hell weren't social distancing. Yelling with a mask on doesn't do a whole lot.  Also, how many "muh freedom" people would even get tested unless their symptoms were very bad?

The 7 counties with mask mandates in Ohio:

  • Cuyahoga County - 65.8% for Hillary, Obama in 2012
  • Trumbull County - 51.2% Trump, Obama in 2012
  • Huron County - 65.5% Trump, Obama in 2012
  • Franklin County - 60.6% Hillary, Obama in 2012
  • Montgomery County - 48.4% Trump, Obama in 2012
  • Butler County - 62% Trump, Romney in 2012
  • Hamilton County - 52.6% Hillary, Obama in 2012

The spread doesn't seem that political unless you are literally saying that it's only the republicans in these counties spreading it, which would be ridiculous. Must be all the republicans in LA too.

As for the younger crowd spreading it, the cases are spiking younger. BUT, what does that mean related to testing 2 months ago? When tests weren't open to just anyone, how many younger people were getting tested. With the increase of testing, I'm not convinced it is all bc of younger people. Cases going up still does not matter unless hospitalizations are going up. Arizona and FL seem to still have issues, but I haven't seen much reported elsewhere that people are dying or hospitalized at an increased rate.

Just the type of people..but I believe it’s most everywhere.

Just here in my parts Athens is the mask wearing claimed champs....but I was in their Lowe’s last week and I’m guessing 40% of customers were wearing. I was also in Chillicothe Lowe’s the next day and I’d guess 20-25% of customers were masked. I go to the store here in Jackson and it’s 50-60% I’d guess, church about 75% at mine.....go I a mini mart I’d guess under 50%.

My FB has 10 screamers that only post about them and 5-8 that scream about their rights blah blah blah.

People that I’ve in rural parts tend to be from those rural parts and are set in their ways....also not around many people compared to a city. I think some are shit full of the people not in the know telling them what to do and they haven’t seen the virus have much activity in there parts....out of sight out of mind maybe.

I wish we could just get real data on this.  So many stats come with "probable" cases, "possible death of "

What % of the stats are misapplied?  25%  more then 25%?

Give us the data without the nursing home deaths.

Stop fear mongering the total and give us the total of people that are actually "sick"

I follow two sites which pull from the data from states:

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/us-map

https://covidtracking.com/data

Yesterday, deaths were over 900, but that was probably due to a delay in reporting due to the holiday weekend. If you average the last two weeks, there was a slight increase in deaths, but more just a flatline so far. The alarming thing is the increase in hospitalizations around the country.

Don't forget that hospitalizations with covid and hospitalizations because of covid are different things. A lot of states do not differentiate.
