Waynedale Football?

Havin FunI believe it is true the line will be smaller next year. That darn coach needs to go. There is no reason he cannot grow bigger kids!!
Joking on that but what do you do? A smaller team CANNOT win when going against teams 50-100 lbs bigger than them on both lines. You just need to ride out this wave of smaller kids and hope some size returns at some point. -
eyes r burningWith all the talk on here maybe we should just play a JV schedule the few years until we can get some impact players on the line (but those are the players we don't try and keep) I'm at a loss for words on what we should do. Hoping Wcalfan might have some insight, can he keep a total of the gate between girls basketball and the football program the next few years to let us know where the football program is. Northwestern had a very small line this year, so I'm not buying it!!!! Something is very wrong in the den!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"General" listen to me closely.....I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. Get that through your head. That is OLD NEWS. I think you are trying to suggest that I am the AD or an administrator (because of your cute little "gate" comment). I am pretty sure they have a lot more to do than to listen to morons like me and you give our opinions. Although he will get a laugh when he hears your assumption. AGAIN...nice try. "Well" I better get going now...I always enjoy it when you spew your vomit on here though. (pssst....It's killing you isn't it....you just can't quite get your finger on it.....ha ha ha ha!) By the way, nothing is wrong in the den. Actually it is so much more peaceful with you out of the picture.eyes r burning;1383003 wrote:With all the talk on here maybe we should just play a JV schedule the few years until we can get some impact players on the line (but those are the players we don't try and keep) I'm at a loss for words on what we should do. Not suggested anything there, our little bear. Was just asking a question (and questions are good thats how we learn), is the football program covering it's nut? (which is the most expensive sport to fund). Guess the wrestling and basketball programs can cover it for a few years or so, but someone might want to look into it, that is called financial responsibility (which is becoming a lost art in this country). The days of 3 deep on the fence are gone unless the band is extraordinary the next few years to draw in some fans.wcalfan;1383188 wrote:"General" listen to me closely.....I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. The Rittman, Chippewa football culture has descended on this district an the question has to ask WHY??? This has been festering for awhile, the slow erosion takes time. It starts with one kid and that has just spread over the years.
Again I will say the kids in the district or any district have not changed, what changes programs is culture and attitude, what changes culture and attitude? LEADERSHIP, there are no bad Indians only bad chiefs.
Little bear, I really don't like to hear you call yourself a moron! I think your intelligence is far superior to anyone that has posted on this site, but I can't put my finger on why you don't get this leadership thing.
Good day my friend, the "Generals" finally decided to change their culture, the first step is admitting there is a problem. -
MOUNTAINBEARgeeeez! IT IS NOT DARN CULTURE, STOP BLAMING SOCIETY. Crap! guys, society is not any different in apple creek then in creston. something in the water that has culture different in jeromesville then that of fredricksburg or mt. eaton. bull! what, some great invisible wall around the southeast local that makes it different then any other wayne county school. bologna!!!! something has happened with the last couple of classes and is still going to effect the kids in the next handful of classes coming up. no one has been able to put their finger on it yet. pee wee, coaches, kids, parents, even the school itself. heck who knows. Stinking internet that we all seem to be enthralled by? That always seems to be the new (BUZZWORD) these days- SOCIETY & CULTURE! the question should be what is the school itself doing about it or what are the parents willing to do, can a head coach even do anything about the situation? no matter who he is.. students? Just for the fan...... SAD!

What???? are you Tickle from moonshiners? Football culture numbnuts, its a culture surrounding a program. Waynedale just changed it with the basketball program a couple years ago and it's start to rebound, but the longer you wait the longer it takes to recover. Wrestling and Basketball are reloading, thats what a program breeds..............Bet the football roster has 7-8 guys over 200 lb same as all the years past, so lets get off the small guy bull!$##. LEADERSHIP get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MOUNTAINBEAR;1383879 wrote:geeeez! IT IS NOT DARN CULTURE, STOP BLAMING SOCIETY. I have never said that Coach Z isn't partly to blame here but the problem is MUCH bigger than just him. You are right that we need to change the culture but I really believe that starts at home. If they come in with the right attitude and work ethic, then the leadership "thing" is much more effective.eyes r burning;1383623 wrote:Not suggested anything there, our little bear. We probably did have 10 or more kids that were over 200 lbs. on our roster this past season but how many of them were "real" contributors? Our best lineman, arguably, was a freshman. Think about that. He weighed 250+ but he was a freshman who didn't even play at all his 8th grade year because of an injury. Again, you act like we have these behemoths walking in our hallways that could help us on Friday nights. Where are they?!?!?!?! Because I am telling you they aren't very visible if they even exist! -

Not sure where you got I think behemoths are walking your hallways. I only said I thought we had 7 or so guys over 200 lbs just like we have had for the years past, go back 10, 20 years its about the same. Your the one that keeps bringing up this size thing and talk of impact players and such.wcalfan;1384082 wrote:I have never said that Coach Z isn't partly to blame here but the problem is MUCH bigger than just him. Can anyone from Northwestern, Dalton, Rittman or Chippawa let us know what your line averaged weight wise the last few years and how many of your lineman signed a NLI yesterday or have collage coaches beating down their door. It would be interesting to see REALLY how many impact line there were last year in the WCAL! Think I remember reading something in the paper about Northwesterns line. About a bunch undersized kids doing great things on the line. -
wcalfan
We had undersized kids this year but they didn't do great things! Is that the coaches fault? We have never had big lines but we have had tough, hard-nosed kids to rely on.......(awkward silence)......we don't have that right now. Let's just be honest with each other and I really don't see a lot of them on our roster. You tell me why we don't have those types of kids right now? And please don't tell me they are walking the halls......eyes r burning;1384568 wrote:Not sure where you got I think behemoths are walking your hallways. MOUNTAINBEARculture is growing up amish, born amish, eat amish, dress amish, marry and live amish. but this is not the forum to discuss the differences in culture and society. the time was where rich kids & poor kids, big kids and slow kids, preps and stoners, even cool kids and geeks came together to form a TRADITION of what we all knew as bear football. waynedale had a football COMMUNITY. But someone along the way decided that the tradition needed tweeked or changed and now the football community is fractured. the likes of jmar & the fan want to point at the parents or coddled kids. But you have a bad father means you cant play football, your mom cheats on her taxes means you cant block or tackle. disfunction is a part of our society and culture for 50 years so now we cant play football because of it? so, "nonuts" I still loved the tickle jab. that was great.
