Made some calls huh? Wow you are resourceful but you provided me with no help at all. Give me a break. I have you figured out.....I love it when people on here say that kids "don't fit Z's mold". That's a cop out. That just tells me they don't want to work hard. Where are their parents telling them that they need to play and be a part of the team with their other classmates?eyes r burning;1354536 wrote:Made some calls to help you out, was told there are three former players that dont fit Z's mold, from what I was told would be two ways starters, C Brewer, L Snyder, B Wardall. So there are six players if they go both ways, so other names in this class that came up D Stanley, can take almost anyone in the state down sure he could make you a few tackles at DE, B Hawkins or B Kick might make a nice TE, how about K Leudeman heard he's pretty quick and can jump through the gym, might make for a heck of a DB an then the Staggs boys heard they can play not sure where, sure a coach could figure that out.
Snyder was going to play till he hurt himself right before the season started. The others that you have listed are decent athletes but again...we need game changers. Not sure those guys are game changers on a football field. The Staggs boys do nothing but wrestle....that's it. They are good baseball players as well....what do they not fit the "mold" of the baseball coach either?
You do bring up an interesting point though...a handful of the names you brought up are wrestlers that do NOTHING but wrestle...specialization??? You said it not me. I would think that the wrestling coach would want his wrestlers to play football, which I hope he does....I also know that a few of them also play soccer, which hurts the numbers for the football team but every other school has to deal with that as well.
Again I will say it....the only way we will improve the situation is if EVERYONE is on the same page and I mean EVERYONE. -

Thanks hasbeen. Silly is right...there are just desperate people on here looking for anything to point the blame on Coach Z and the AD. The funny thing is...each and every one of their "theories" get shot down and they refuse to look at where the problem really starts......hasbeen;1354580 wrote:The OC at Pickerington North is a basketball coach as well. MOUNTAINBEARStanley kid has a chance to wrestle past highschool, wardell and staggs boys are atheletic as heck, but jeez he is right that a coach shouldnt have to walk the halls RECRUITING. you love the game or you dont, passion for the game or none. pride that your a goldenbear or not. When we came up its "HOT DAMN< CANT WAIT TO KNOCK CRAP OUT OF SMITHVILLE" How about you or me recruiting those boys?eyes r burning;1354536 wrote:Made some calls to help you out, was told there are three former players that dont fit Z's mold, from what I was told would be two ways starters, C Brewer, L Snyder, B Wardall. So, are you saying Mr. Stanley and Mr. Rebie don't expect thier boys to work hard? And Z expects Soooo much more then these two coach's Humm. That must be way they line up to play for them, put either of these two men in charge of the football program and you would be back to winning ways within a year and they would build the tradition back. So don't tell how Z's standards are so much higher, it has a little thing about kids respecting thier coach, you are never going to get it!wcalfan;1354599 wrote:Made some calls huh? 1_beastD Stanley don't LIKE football. (Must be the sh$%y parenting)
He does "NOTHING" but wrestle. (He actually spends time lifting weights too). The listed ATHLETES are just that...ATHLETES....That's the type of kids that do infact help a program.
I don't have a fix....I don't have an answer. I do have season tickets....I do travel to all away games as well....I will NOT however, FORCE my son to play a sport with his "classmates" that he doesn't enjoy nd quite frankly, knows very little about.
As far as the "cop out" and "That just tells me they don't want to work hard. Where are their parents telling them that they need to play and be a part of the team with their other classmates?"
I CHALLENGE YOU or anyone of the "harder" working football players OR "classmates" to step into the wrestling room just one practice. I guarantee the "work hard" comment will change!

1_beastHey, If it's any consolation, My 9 year old enjoys football very much. He is well informed and even brings binoculars to the games so he can see better! I will allow him to play this year in youth. So one day, he may be able to contribute. Hard to tell though...his brother played in youth and jr high...just didn't grasp it. Ya dig?

Tell me why they don't respect Coach Z then? All 3 of them are Waynedale guys and they were molded pretty much the same way. Hard work and dedication were the reasons why they are successful people. Everyone says how "close" Z and Reibe are but yet they are so different as coaches? I see Stanley and Reibe rip their kids for not giving effort and they seem to respond. Why is it that they don't do the same for Z? Don't give me this...."he plays favorites" bull either. What really is the issue with Z?eyes r burning;1354939 wrote:So, are you saying Mr. Stanley and Mr. Rebie don't expect thier boys to work hard? I NEVER once said that our wrestlers don't work hard. BELIEVE ME, we all know how hard they work. But so do ALL of our other sports. Each sport trains in a specific and totally different way and one sport NEVER works harder than the other. That is what usually sets the Bears apart from others. I would never tell a parent to force their son/daughter to play a sport but I am telling you right now...this specialization issue is not good for a small school like ours.
By the way I think you are a great parent...ya dig? -

Unfortunately at a small school some times you have to wait for game changers to walk through the door.eyes r burning;1354659 wrote:OK, lets not do nothing an wait for the next game changer(THAD) to walk through the door, then you will see some coaching! -

Did Rittman and the Chipps have game changers, if they did the only games the changed for thier teams was aganist Waynedale, so in small schools you need 11 kids that will run throw the wall for you and KNOW you will do the same for them, not a game changer(really have not seen one of those since Thad)wcalfan;1355120 wrote:Unfortunately at a small school some times you have to wait for game changers to walk through the door. -

It is QUITE OBVIOUS that Rittman and Chippewa had more game changers that we did...are you serious?!?!?!? Chippewa had their game changer walk through the door at the beginning of the school year. The freshman qb from Barberton. We think we have some talented freshmen...well he proved he is better. He is doing quite well on the bball floor as well. 11 kids "running through a wall" are great but you still need game changers/play makers. That is a fact!!!!! We have always had them...Thad, Hendrix, Zuercher, etc. The list goes on and on...where are they now?!?!?!?!eyes r burning;1355147 wrote:Did Rittman and the Chipps have game changers, if they did the only games the changed for thier teams was aganist Waynedale, so in small schools you need 11 kids that will run throw the wall for you and KNOW you will do the same for them, not a game changer(really have not seen one of those since Thad) -

Your telling the Freshmen QB was a game changer????? Who are you man, out coached 5 games this year out talented 5, one game changer can be stopped(playoffs) as soon as you run into 11 gamers. Are you busting my nuts here saying that kid was a game changer?wcalfan;1355178 wrote:It is QUITE OBVIOUS that Rittman and Chippewa had more game changers that we did...are you serious?!?!?!? Just a thought hear, maybe they didn't grow up in the perfect family, some have mothers that care some have fathers that care, some have neither so the coach is who they look up to. Life isn't always what ideal and kids have to deal what's dealt, 90% of the kids are in this situation has no fought of thier own, just like it was 20 years ago, These two coachs know how to deal with that, they grew up with it. Believe in your asst. coaches, maybe time to remove all family from sidelines.wcalfan;1355106 wrote:Tell me why they don't respect Coach Z then? That freshman qb was the BEST player on the field that night at Waynedale. Hands down. That is what I call a game changer...in THAT particular game. If you can't admit to that then you are clueless. AND he has proven it on the bball floor so far this season, with the exception of the game vs. the Bears in which we shut him down.eyes r burning;1355198 wrote:Your telling the Freshmen QB was a game changer????? Do you have any clue about what all Coach Z does for the 90% (is that like the 47%? Ha!) you are talking about? He goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to caring for his players. I have no idea where some of you get this notion that he doesn't coach to the "90%".eyes r burning;1355281 wrote:Just a thought hear, maybe they didn't grow up in the perfect family, some have mothers that care some have fathers that care, some have neither so the coach is who they look up to. I know that having Z's dad on the sideline rubs a lot of people the wrong way but he actually has no coaching responsibilities at all. He is a glorified manager. I have been told that he makes it to about 1-2 practices a week. -
