I'll take the cinnamon rolls & the JV coaching staff & guarantee you a better record then this year.

No one as head coach.........coaching by committee with offensive/defensive coordinators, receiver coach, special teams coach etc.

    Z can have a season off & 1/2 the Troyer's sandwich.

If we're no better, then he can come back, but the rolls will be gone.

    Deal ?
  • MOUNTAINBEAR
wait a minute....how did I lose the rolls.. Ill give you one coach from jr high, two from jv and two asst coach from varsity-you choose? but beast and I keep rolls and you get the sandwich. DEAL!

That's pretty much exactly how I would set it up.

Z still gets the sandwich (cold).

I'll take 2 plain (not glazed) donuts & a diet coke.

    It's how I roll !

Wait a minute.....U guys still get Dennis and Z can take the season off and coach his 1/2 Troyers sandwich into his foul mouth! AND the best news is U can pass out the dozen of rolls out the gate next season, and everybody gets one!:laugh:
  • MOUNTAINBEAR

i have retired from football armchairing. its WRESTLING season!

Edit: although i will still poke the WH and Norwayne threads.

My condolences on your football season. Kinda know how it feels, we were there last year.
I agree with Pitman's assessment, whatever happened over there, it's the job of parents and fans to support the kids.
IMHO any other grievances should be addressed to the object of the complaint. If you have a problem with the coach, AD or Admin then make an appointment. Or come on here, just DO NOT talk about it in front of your kids who attend the school. Most especially players or your "dog in the fight'! This only breeds further discontent and blaming others. Particularly find your team leaders (be it seniors or underclassmen) and encourage them! Then encourage them to encourage the others. Teach them how to approach their coaches with suggestions and not ultimatums and to do it with respect. Above all, be patient, it takes time to turn a ship around.
Again, I can't imagine the discouragement you feel, but I feel for you all.
Maybe it's time to sit tight and enjoy your wrestling success for a season then come back to this when the sting wears off a bit.
Good luck to the wrestling bears and best wishes for positive solutions to come forward before next season.

Any chance of Waynedale at least trying to go with the personal training route West Holmes and Norwayne are using?

    Thoughts?

JMar or WCALfan may be helpful.

edit: my 1st sentence was sincere....the 2nd part was a jab and uppercut. screw you 2. ;)

I'm pretty down on Waynedale football right now. Worst season in program history and basically no changes are made. The coach and AD have to own this reality. They presided over the worst football team in history. Congrats, guys. Waynedale athletics really seems a trainwreck right now. You apparently have friendships interfering with judgment, not to mention the AD's son being involved in the mix. And then there's the bizarre fact that the school system permitted its AD to become a head coach. That's not normal. You create a system with no check and balances and this result shouldn't be shocking.

Rumor has it this will be the case until this freshman class is through, both will resign after 2016 season, so get use to it for a few more years! One will take to new heights, other will drive program to depths that will never be recoverable.

Can anyone name one high school football coach that is on a basketball coaching staff in the state of Ohio except at Waynedale? After 0-10 and getting hammered at home by some teams that are not very good and have not been very good for a very long time, you would think MAYBE the coach may want to be working on his house? Bet everyone wishes that thier jobs were the safe, 0-10 we will deal with that next fall!!!!!!!

    What ^^ he said X2 !

I just got tired of all the flaming private messages I got after posting anything regarding a change to the FB program, so I quit posting. I couldn't even make a joke about rolls with out getting slammed.

Say it in the open forum for all to read if you're so obsessed that the program isn't in need of a change. (And quit blaming it all on the kids for once !)

Again...I'm not a fan of Z....but the talent pool of football players is as low as it ever has been. There was maybe 3 kids on the whole roster who would of even seen the field on a lot of Waynedale teams of the past 30 yrs.

And it doesn't look like it's going to get any better anytime soon.
  • MOUNTAINBEAR
good coach or bad, poor parenting and soft kids,,,,,,,,,0 - 10 is still 0 - 10 should never be that bad. but come fall be right back "on the fence"

My oh my….where do I start? That’s what I love about these “forums”….having the chance to show how bad people look when they open their mouths .

”The coach and AD have to own this reality”. Do you really think that they have not had conversations about this past season. I think we all know that our AD is as competitive as anyone and I am pretty sure he has let it known that we can’t go through that again. However, what about the other stakeholders? The kids, parents, and fans? Like we have said on here in the past…it takes EVERYONE to get on the same page in order to remedy the situation. What are WE going to do to make sure it doesn’t happen again? Better yet, what can YOU do to help? You think you are helping by posting on here?

“Waynedale athletics really seems a trainwreck right now” Really? Let’s see….the wrestling team is the defending state champs and have a good chance at repeating. The softball team gave away the league last year and have a good group of young talent for the future. The volleyball team just won a school record of 20 matches and had no seniors. Both basketball teams are playing pretty well right now and we seem to always finish in the top half in the all-sports standings. Hmmmm…a trainwreck huh?

You don’t need to worry about “the AD’s son being involved in the mix” anymore. Rumor has it, he is done with football. I don’t blame him either after hearing and seeing the things people say about him and his family. I have actually heard his dad say that he doesn’t want to put his son through that for another 3 more years. What a SAD situation some of you people have created. You must be really proud of yourselves.

However, I saved the best for last…”And then there’s the bizarre fact that the school system permitted its AD to become a head coach”. THINK before you talk. Smithville’s AD is the head golf and girls basketball coach, Norwayne's AD is the head boys basketball coach, Rittman’s AD is the head football coach and Hillsdale’s former AD, who is now a principal in the school system is the head football coach. Plus, Dalton’s AD coaches multiple 9[SUP]th[/SUP] grade teams. Outside of the WCAL, Triway’s AD is the head baseball coach, Orrville’s AD is the head tennis coach, and Central Christian’s AD is the head baseball coach and asst basketball coach. At Waynedale, the last three AD’s before Reibe were head coaches at the high school as well. In today’s educational settings, this is VERY common. Head coaches need to be in the buildings. They can’t just create new positions to bring in coaches. I bet if they did that, YOU would be the first person to complain about them spending your tax payer dollars. So I guess all of those other schools are “not normal” huh?

Eyes...this isn't "late breaking news". Reibe made it known from the beginning that he would probably be done when his son graduates. One of the reasons he decided to take the job was the fact he could coach his son. Would you blame any other dad in that situation? And I don't think he has let that cloud his judgment with the current team. His son is playing on the freshman team and a couple of quarters a night JV. Has he seen any varsity time yet?
