Waynedale Football?

Whew....are you done yet???eyes r burning;1367149 wrote:Not sure way you edited your post? But yes I was very serious, I'm telling you that Dale or Louie could and would bring this program back (and would not have let it get to it's current state).
It would be tough for one to pull double duty, but I'm 110% sure he could pull it off. I'm sure your asking yourself why I believe he could do it?
Because he is a LEADER, great LEADERS surround themselves with with talented people they trust, listen to and believe in!!!
Now I'm not saying we would of hung with the upper tier teams in the league, AN NO ONE expected Z's coached team too either! I know you will say we were out sized, non-athlete, junior high like crap, but can you honestly say 1-9 chipps, 2-8 Ritt, 3-7 ? Dat. had more size an talent the we did? I say No and I'm sure you will say Yes, so for the sake of argument lets say we were equal in size an talent.
Now by this point in the season I had seen enough, so I was just following the paper an getting second hand info from guys at work, these games were not even close, I would really like an explanation from a self-proclaimed expert as yourself about how we could not compete against the lowest tier teams?
Here are three possible things that could of happened.
1) Totally over matched, size and talent. (if this is the case football should be dropped an lets go play hiland and CC in soccer)
2) Terrible game plan (out coached)
3) The players could not will themselves to play for the current leadership, they wanted to practiced hard, but their MINDS just would not let them. They quit, not physically but mentally, this his hard to over come!
Now I'm sure you will say #1, which really tells me, the buy in we can expect in the years to come an the future looks mighty dark. But I will on the other hand go with #2,3.
Well I have to get to work an get my daily waynedale beat down from my co-workers (you know I had to wear blue & white for a week after the chipps game, not one of my higher points in my life)
Can I ask a favor of you today? I would like you to walk over to the library and do some research on a few things 1) constructive criticism, 2) Leadership, 3) Erosion. Hopefully you can let me know your views on these 3 things an we can discuss them at a later time. One other thing I would like you to think about, a great football player does not automatically make you a great leader, an leader are born not made. You look at a a lot of great coaches, must barely played, but what they can do is lead people, not by force but because they want to follow then, it's a gift.
Got to roll!!!!
Again, your first few sentences just prove to me your ignorance about the entire situation at Waynedale. You just keep feeding me with the proof I need to show your lack of relevant facts.
I do have you figured out now. Your "jaunt" isn't quite as short as your fence-hugging buddy "0-21" but yours is still a hop, skip and a jump away. Why don't you just head over before you go to work one day and catch Coach Z at lunch and let him know your thoughts OR maybe you have done that already (deja vu?!?!?!) I bet when you wore that blue and white to work it felt good since those were your high school colors, didn't it?
"General" you honestly need to rid yourself of your opinion that I am at the school...I am no where near that place on a daily basis.
Constructive criticism is a communication technique intended to identify and find solutions to problems in a positive way. Hmmmm...."Terrible game plan (out coached)" is POSITIVE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? And that is just one small example of all the negative vomit that has come out of your mouth on this forum. I can only imagine the things you have said to your sons over the years about their coaches. Just think how much more successful they COULD have been if you would have just accepted your role as a supportive parent. -
MOUNTAINBEAR. .you guys keep right on poking each other in the eye, even jmar, poking people in the eye. when I first came on here I certainly had on blinders. but I drive 300 miles to see the worst bears team in history, I look across the field at Jeromesville and see more students in the band then fans in the stands. I watch us lose to a smithville team that is far more inferior then smitty teams of past. And chipps, the chipps. Are you kidding me? THE CHIPPS! So a few said hey dummy listen up. So I did. So I am gonna return favor. Hey dummies listen up! Coddled kids, spoiled kids, you know it, thats jmars society issue. small kids, slow kids or the HORSES as the fan points to. Sure is issue. I came on and asked Where are all the farm boys? but here you go Beast, NEVER< NEVER< NO WAY! should the waynedale golden bears go 0-10. That is waynedale culture, and that is where the coach issue comes in. I also believe that I said the man can coach, but 0-10 is his, go 2-8 or 3-7 blame parents and athelets. Go 0-10 and sorry fan, horses or not, sorry jmar society or not, the coach has some issues, yes the parents have issues and the students have some issues, sorry beast! all I got left is. SAD!

I see our infamous HS "Jr High basketball team" knocked off the #1 undefeated Varsity team in the WCAL tonite.wcalfan;1364925 wrote: Again, do we have any players that even come close to looking like Norwayne players?!?!?! I was at the bball game this past Friday @ Norwayne and again we looked like a junior high team compared to them...WAIT let me guess, it was the coach's fault we lost?!?!?!? Face it....this is just the way it is right now BUT that won't stop us from working hard.
Must have been the coaching that made the difference since we can't match up talent or size wise ? -

iced earthC'mon Hunter....small quick basketball teams beat bigger teams all the time at the high school and college level. Football is a whole different thingy! You can have all the quick little 155lb. athletes you want, but if they are playing center, guard, and tackle you LOSE!

How come we lost the BB game at Norwayne then if size doesn't matter ?iced earth;1369688 wrote:C'mon Hunter....small quick basketball teams beat bigger teams all the time at the high school and college level. My point in all this is if you can't change your size, than you need to find another way to win with what you have.
The BB team has found a way to do that. (Update: 2 nights in a row !) And 8 of their last 9 games.
Maybe we need to become a state powerhouse in soccer since we can't compete on the football stage. (Once we shut the football program down those kids still wanting to play will need something to do with their extra time, might as well be soccer players !)
We do have some athletes currently who know how to win, they just need to be focused in the right direction. -
eyes r burningRumor has it the class have given up on football, why is this Wcalfan????? You know the class everyone is talking about!!! Can you explain why? They must of just got lazy, or the parents must of turned bad is my guess, whats your thoughts MR. Football!!!
-
wcalfan
Not sure what you are talking about (as usual)? I haven't heard anything like that?!?!?! There are some kids that may not come out but they are not "impact" players and this happens each and every year at EVERY school. Nice try once again......keep up the bashing "General".eyes r burning;1375379 wrote:Rumor has it the class have given up on football, why is this Wcalfan????? Think I'm starting to see the problem, have you ever heard of late bloomers? Why not try an keep these non-impact players coming out, maybe a couple will develop into decent players, if this is the thinking of this program it's no wonder it's in the shape it is! Not sure but I don't think the rest of the leauge is made up of all impact players, what they do have is player buy in, ALL players, not your choosing few.wcalfan;1375426 wrote:Not sure what you are talking about (as usual)? Are you suggesting that Coach Z doesn't want to keep all of the players in the program? Seriously "General"? Do you REALLY believe that? You are talking about the same coach who likes the idea of "platooning" players or just having them play one side of the ball. Yea, that makes sense, he would want to run kids off and make his roster numbers smaller.eyes r burning;1375501 wrote:Think I'm starting to see the problem, have you ever heard of late bloomers? You haven't "hit" a darn thing here "General". I can honestly say though....now that your sons have graduated, it is sooooo nice not having to see you around on a regular basis. You NEGATIVE attitude makes people sick and we really are glad you are gone (for the most part). The intelligent fans in our community know what you are all about and you have absolutely NO CREDIBILITY with the people that matter. Live with that "General". Wait...have I hit something there?!?!?! "Well" let's see here "General"...I am not really sure how to respond to your post (much like all of your posts). My office is in my house, so my morning walk will have an audience of my dog and cat and they could care less what I say. You are REALLY reaching and it is soooo funny. It kills you and I love EVERY minute of it. Quit waisting your time and energy trying to figure it all out. Just do us all a favor and quit pretending that you are a Golden Bear fan.eyes r burning;1378130 wrote:You have been awful quiet my little fuzzy golden bear? You working on the plan for next year! Havin FunJust a note here. The Bears had the smaller line on both sides of the ball in every game they played last fall. Chippewa had much bigger kids. Rittman did as well. You can win in basketball being smaller and quicker. Small and quick will not open holes on the offensive line or be able to get off blocks and make tackles on the defensive line. Our football players have high school talent just not average or above average size.
