As stated above, you proved that you're full of it when you threw Poland in to the mix.
Pretty much anyone on here that pays attention knows that Mooney's right on the cusp. No bonus points for that (even if you do cut Coach Bucci's grass)
The rest of your postings are just memories of an old never was, so enjoy your memories. and don't forget your medication -
soupcitysoldierlol your hilarious...once again i stand by my comments about mooney, bucci said its possible. so once again im saying that mooney has a chance to drop to d4. now to poland, i fortunately have the honor of being a teacher at poland hs, so i get a lil inside info every so often. hc told me they might drop, so im glad i can clear that all up for you guys. rocket once again who do you support????
-
soupcitysoldierrmolin whose your alma mater???
-
rmolin73Lowndes High School Valdosta, Georgia. In Polands case it sounds like wishful thinking on the coaches behalf. 50 boys is a lot to lose in 2 years.
-
sonnyblackNot too concerned about the offense. QB position should be a battle between Reyes (Jr to be) and the younger Hughes (soph to be). Everyone is talking about the backfield with Ja'les and Shawndale, but Charles Smith should be added into the mix, Zetts totally wasted him this year. The defense is where I see the most glaring problem, especially the secondary, which totally fell apart during the playoffs.
-
soupcitysoldieri agree...the defense has not improved much under this staff. we are still not physical and are still prone to giving up large amounts of points to good offensive teams. i think the defense MUST improve in order to take that big step forward.

Actually, you are absolutely clueless -
soupcitysoldierwho is your alma mater lol whats the big deal? if you dont wanna answer im not responding to you anymore. im ignoring you i want to talk campbell football. not lowellville football... rocket lol

cmhs_prideThis has been Hilarious
Listen fellas, all points well taken. But I am going to tell you something. As a Campbell guy I respect the history of your schools accomplishments. Mooney in my opinion is a state powerhouse. Always has been. Great players from Ted Bell to Bo Pelini to Dean Ciccoretti, Vince Marrow, John Repasky, Both the Mccarthy boys, Several of the Stoops boys, Braylon Heard, James Trafficant, John Scott (who was great in all three sports), Derrell Johnson, Vince Coleman, Eddie Thomas, The Vecchiones, and the list goes on and on. Legendary coach in Don Bucci. LEGENDARY. But I guess that doesn't matter right? I mean hey we are talking about the present. Who gives a damn about the past...I mean that is what you guys are saying. Don't live in the past, Don't live in the past.
Ursuline is a school I will admit straight up to you that I cannot stand. I mean I flat out cant stand the school. But I will respect the tradition. Great Players once again, Deollo Anderson, Trevor Stargel, Ferkula, Bunofsky, Beck, Detlich, Ellerbe, Karlovic, Prologo, Teague (Akese's Dad), Frost, Lynch, and a bunch of names that escape me. They have a great run going right now with Akese, Mr. Kempe, Jesse Curry and so on. But I guess i hope they enjoyed it because after this year nobody can talk about that great era because its in the past....right??
You see that is what I don't get. Don't tell me not to look at the rich history of Campbell football and for those who do not know it, please shut your damn mouth when you try to belittle it. Your older Mooney and Ursuline alum will tell you themselves to shut your mouths. If they were ever on the field against Campbell go ahead and ask them win or lose how they felt the next day. When it comes to some of the comments, many of you should check your mouth because at times it becomes your ass when you are talking.
Campbell huddlers, you guys as well need to let it go and get back to the topic. Why in the world are you continuing this argument. They have their opinion and you have yours. I mean you have some of these people bringing up the exchange students for cryin out loud. Talk ABOUT BITTER. Lets talk Campbell football fellas. Lets talk about 2011. Its exciting that the last two years we have made strides back in the right direction again. Looking forward to the next step in 2011. Hopefully this group stays together and plays together. Very promising future on the way...minus a few kids but thats life.
Sonny, I agree that Charles Smith will play a huge roll this year. He can be a beast and should have been utilized more especially in blow outs this year. I think its obviously all about the off season -
cmhs_prideThe guy from Georgia........Really, lmao.
Soupcitysoldier if I had to guess where Rockets 08 is from, its not lowellville.
Good Mooney buddy of mine Dean Congemi said to me that you can always tell a Mooney alum or player by how they address the Legend. Not from Mooney...it's either Don, Mr. Bucci....or just plain Bucci. Sometimes even "The Don".
If it is a Mooney Player or Alum............they refer to him As Coach Bucci regardless of the fact he does not coach anymore. So there you have it...he is a Mooney guy. In all honesty, who gives a damn. -
omemorialhighpride..."minus a few kids"? to what are you referring...anything specific...or just simple campbell turnover lol

cmhs_prideWell finally we can talk about the thread. How nice.
Obviously J'Ales Hughes is the big returner. He will be accompanied by Charles Smith who can be a beast if they utilize him and Delshawn Ray who is going to be very good. I assume the FB will be Clinckscale. I say all of this assuming these young men work hard in the offseason on the field, in the weightroom, and in the classroom. And ofcourse stay at Campbell which is not to start debate but state a simple fact. Sometimes it happens...what are ya going to do.
QB seems to be Reyes. Has athletic talent, don't know how he will respond at this level. Receivers seem to be slipping my mind in terms of names. I cannot remember their names at all. Number 6, 21, 24....help me out fellas. Upcoming talent is scary. I mean flat out scary from lower levels up. We did lose one already to Ursuline.....again, nothing new and not for debate. But he is one of many. The next five years can be very good. We shall see. -

Let's not forget that Campbell will need some kids to step it up on the offensive line. Gone are Abron, Pagan, Martinez, Benedis, Guidos. John Sikora also played a key role from his fullback position opening up holes for Ja'les to run though. #21 is Anthony Rushton. #24 is Wigfall. # 6 is Letlow. Rushton is the only starter returning at wide receiver. Wigfall played some before he broke his arm late in the season. I don't believe Letlow played offense. Sikora and Benedis will be hard to replace on defense. Martinez was a solid defensive lineman who will graduate. Campbell had a good group of seniors providing leadership this past season.
We'll need to find a few seniors who can step up and become leaders in the locker room and on the field. The schedule has not changed much except for Salem being replaced by Ashtabula Edgewood. Edgewood is a definite step down from Salem. -
soupcity99Hopefully the red devils can get into the weightroom and and build off of last year!!

Gardens35Let's Go Devils is working hard, saw him ripping a solo of "Like a Hurricane" on a cardboard guitar outside Lincoln Knolls this afternoon. The frozen snot on his face was a bit disturbing, but I think he was smiling inside.
-
oldschoolreddevHeard Campbell lost the Phillips kid to Ursuline.
-
reddevil90I really don't care where the ones who choose to leave go.. If they leave so be it. People don't understand how much Campbell helped teams like Ursuline and Mooney hit the high they have. So your welcome. But Campbell will have to get bigger and stronger on defense. But i truly don't see that much of a change on how good the defense from last year. we can only hope we are about as good as we was this year. Offensively we need some help blocking and opening up for Ja'les and Shawndale and Smith. I'm thinking Smith and Shawndale Ray will split time next to Ja'les... Ja'les needs to get a few pounds under him and a little more speed. He is very fast but he didn't have that breakaway speed like Skevo would have had. i see and this all depends on how the defense shapes up.. We should go 7-3 fighting for a spot. And if the defense finds a way to be aggressive 8-2. But here is the big big X-Factor how good will the teams we play be. Here is the bottom line. we need to admit that this might be a rebuild season going anywhere from 6-4 to 8-2.
-
cmhs_prideBigdean, McQwilson (sp), Burnett, and Little are huge and are starters returning. They along with up and coming Kelly and a few others will play a huge role in the success of this team.
Here is the key factor hands down...Leadership. They either lead or become another could have been. Its up to them.
Oldschool, i hear everything and anything. Don't know what to believe. To be honest this grows old. Listen all of you young people have the right to choose. Do what you have to do. Free country. But here is the thing....leave...don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out...and don't come back. That is what is annoying. When this turns into a college signing day at the high school level. Tired of it.
Keep this in mind as well....not always the choice of the athlete...TRUST ME. -

Get it right...I was playin 'Runnin with the devil' lol -
lets_go_devilsI just hope these kids take that 'leadership torch' and run with it. Losing these seniors is definitely gonna hurt, but I wanna see these kids step up and say IT'S OUR TURN...LETS GET IT DONE.
-
soupcitysoldieri agree with lets go...i dont know if this kid is leaving and hate to really comment unless hes for sure gone. if its just a rumor and the kid ends up staying then we look stupid lol if the kids leaves it hurts...but i dont think hes going to play at ursuline behind 6'7" durkin!!! so its just a case of going somewhere to be a back up and not be a star. if your goal in life is to be a follower and not a leader then were just going to have to move on. if you want to be a star and tell your teammates ride my coat tails thats the type of kid that can lead us to the promised land. in a way i see the hughes boys in this light...they turned down ursuline and wanted to do it here. jales is probably one of the few if only campbell player to be all state first team as a junior...anyone can verify this? i also believe this hurts us, but we have to remember motrell is a freshman and WILL be the starter if he keeps his head on straight. ive seen him play basketball and its obvious the kid has special talents beyond what jales and lester had as freshman. but i dont know if the kids leaving...and that doesnt take into account that the kid can play running back. o well. im over it. until the state says something else...this will be high school football in ohio. and im sure you will slowly but surely see that public school fans will feel alienated and just stop following hs sports. this isnt college...and thats what its turn into. cmhs pride is right this is college style recruiting...

Pride, Burnett and Little played primarily on defense this past season, although Burnett played some offense to spell the other kids. Maybe those three can become two-way linemen and open holes on the offensive line too. I believe there are two kids named Kelly who are both 230 plus coming up as sophomores. McWilson really developed into a good offensive lineman this past season. He did that as a sophomore. Maybe the kids coming up can do the same. Campbell will have good size again. I believe either Brandon Reyes or Ja'les' younger brother will compete for the starting QB spot. Skill will not be as plentiful at the wide receiver positions. But maybe a couple of kids can step up there too. Sudakov will be a big plus in the kicking game. Senior leadership? I agree. Very, very important. We had a good core of seniors on the team this past season for the most part. We'll need that again.
