This would be a HUGE mistake by a VERY stubborn regime. I was touting Hardesty for awhile but I don't think you can rely on him. I know they say it takes a second year after that type of knee injury to fully recover/get the speed back but I'm skeptical on him.

^^^ i agree. i liked hardesty coming out of college but the last two years he has let me down. i just wouldn't be surprised if they let hillis walk and go into next year with those two.

I understand the Boom Herron comment, I just don't think Richardson will be as good as AP. If they can trade down to 7 and take him, THEN you might be getting some value but he's not worth a top 5 pick. As has been mentioned..."dime a dozen" position.

Well I mean that's the whole thing..barring teams just not that interested in RG3, I see this team trading back a couple spots and I see richardson falling to the 7-10 range. At that spot, I think ti's almost a given they take him, especially after acquiring a draft pick

RB position just isnt that important anymore.

bingo. we can trade down to ten or so and still get him if they have a hard on for him.
  • BR1986FB
Still a ways to go. Still have the Combine where many will rise & fall. Will be VERY interesting to see what, if anything, they do in free agency.

What really pisses me off is this constant double speak. A few weeks ago Heckert says "we'll be active in free agency." Then this end of the year address makes it sound like they may not. Frustrating....

I think Richardson will be good, but not nearly as explosive as AP.

Especially in this offense. Even when it's obvious that running the ball will be the way to success, Shurmur still insists on airing it out. Very pass happy...the whole regime.

    truth.

Not very many featured backs anymore and if steinbach is back....you can plug in Hillis or Jackson and be fine. There are so many more pressing needs than RB

    I agree

but if they trade back, and get him around the 10th pick, I see that as a win for us. Top 5 talent, at the 10th pick

yeah, I would probably be ok with that....but then I would insist on a WR at Atl's pick

Its not like any of the saints RBs are all pro..but their passing offense is so good their RBs produce. That's how the Browns need to think--just mimic the saints lol

Exactly. Look at Green Bay and New England too. Running back by committee. No standout feature back but they sure pass it a helluva lot.

    First round WRs are overrated.

    Signed,

The browns the past 10 years.

    Ha idiots!

    Signed,

The Detroit Lions (one half away from 2nd round of the playoffs)

I don't think that Heckert thinks that 1st round WR's are overrated as he has taken them in the past. Now "top 5 WR's" may be a different story (overrated).

only took them four selections to get it right ;)

Yeah, I forgot we have drew brees and aaron rodgers back there as our qb. Let's just get rb's by committee to help this offense!

in that case we better get rg3 :)

There are so many holes that I guess you draft best player available and address the other holes with free agency.

I can see the first part of that happening but after that recent presser I'm expecting them to bring in a bunch of John Greco's and Usama Young's in free agency.

I never believe anything in these offseason pressers. they are just lip service and they are not going to show their cards or strategy before the draft.

I think that they should take a look at LaMichael James in the 2nd or 3rd round...Very fast and will make an immediate playmaker on the team. He can come in and be a PR or KR man if they dont put Cribbs back there. I also like VT RB David Wilson too...Not a huge back, but he runs pretty decent and breaks tackles.

you can only have so much depth with those turds. this is what pisses me off about these guys. you can get one or two starters in free agency it doesn't hurt.
