I don't know enough about Stein's situation to know if I should have faith in him coming back healthy/strong. Pinkston might be serviceable at guard, but if you can bring in all-pro (Nicks) to replace him I make the upgrade anyway.BR1986FB;1034186 wrote:If Steinbach returns, I think they'd be OK at guard moving Pinkston to RG.
I'm OK with Gocong at OLB but Fujita has to go. Would also be fine with moving Sheldon Brown to safety to allow Ward to support the run. RDE is a must. Sheard seems to be the only one consistently bringing pressure. A nice corner opposite of Haden would be good but I think they are pretty high on Patterson & Skrine.
I'm OK with both Gocong and Fujita as depth guys, but neither should be starting at OLB in my opinion. Not good enough athletes. Can't cover for shit. They don't get to the QB very often and obviously our run D was pretty porous this year too.
I didn't see anything that gave me faith in Patterson this year. Skrine showed some flashes, but he strikes me as more of a nickle guy. That's probably the least pressing need of the positions I listed. A pass rushing end and playmakers at LB are obviously larger, and so is a safety with some ball skills IMO. -
IggyPride00They should have a boatload of money to spend in free agency, and I hope that unlike last year it gets spent.
Building through the draft is one thing, but it is naive to think you can outfit an entire roster entirely from draft picks while ignoring free agency. It would take us 5 years to ever accrue any depth and fill holes if we keep doing what we did last year.
I am also hoping that the Browns resist the urge to overspend on Flynn, who will undoubtedly be a hot name in QB needy circles. He would seem to be a natural fit because of the west coast offense, but after seeing Kolb this year fall on his face we can't commit serious resources on a stab in the dark like that unless it is at the top of the draft and you are pretty damn sure. -
Benny The JetWhat pick did they end up with?

Mulva1. Indianapolis Colts, 2-14
2. St. Louis Rams, 2-14
3. Minnesota Vikings, 3-13
4. Cleveland Browns, 4-12
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 4-12
6. Washington Redskins, 5-11
7. Jacksonville Jaguars, 5-11
8. Carolina Panthers, 6-10
9. Miami Dolphins, 6-10
10. Buffalo Bills, 6-10 -
IggyPride00RGIII should be in play possibly at 4, but St. Louis and Minny are both major potential trade back candidates since neither need QB's. If RGIII turns in an amazing workout and his stock shoots further through the roof, there could be a huge price paid to get up in front of Cleveland at 4.

MulvaI don't see any way St. Louis trades back and misses out on Kalil or Blackmon.
I would say there's at least a 50/50 chance that the Vikings trade back though. Washington, Miami, and Seattle could all be interested. -

If the rumor that Spags & the GM are out in STL is true, maybe they select RG3 themselves...move on from Bradford (not their guy)?Mulva;1034271 wrote:I don't see any way St. Louis trades back and misses out on Kalil or Blackmon.

good possibility, then theyd probably settle for our late first for bradford.BR1986FB;1034281 wrote:If the rumor that Spags & the GM are out in STL is true, maybe they select RG3 themselves...move on from Bradford (not their guy)? -

That is mostly what I am hearing. So if you have Luck, and RG3 gone at 1 and 2....what do you do with your 4th?BR1986FB;1034281 wrote:If the rumor that Spags & the GM are out in STL is true, maybe they select RG3 themselves...move on from Bradford (not their guy)? -

That's true. Hadn't considered the new regime thing. I still don't expect it to happen though.BR1986FB;1034281 wrote:If the rumor that Spags & the GM are out in STL is true, maybe they select RG3 themselves...move on from Bradford (not their guy)? -
wghfanStep 1... FIRE SHURMER!! This team will suck until they fire him. You have to get rid of this guy RIGHT NOW if you want to move forward.

OK. Then the Browns will continue to suck. Shurmur was a terriible hire to begin with.shook_17;1034303 wrote:lol shurmur isn't going any where -

we'll never move forward if we keep firing coaches year after year. shurmur will definitely be back next yearwghfan;1034301 wrote:Step 1... FIRE SHURMER!! This team will suck until they fire him. You have to get rid of this guy RIGHT NOW if you want to move forward. -

lol thanks for your valuable input. its his first year with a shitty qb, horrible talent. sure he looked in over his head but lets see what happens. holmgren is happy with him and isn't going any where. so go ahead and keep bitching about it. wasting your time. :thumbup:wghfan;1034309 wrote:OK. Move forward? LOL. Browns will be in park, and most likely in reverse with this guy.dazedconfused;1034310 wrote:we'll never move forward if we keep firing coaches year after year. shurmur will definitely be back next year -

The QB is not shitty, the coach is.shook_17;1034313 wrote:lol thanks for your valuable input. its his first year with a shitty qb, horrible talent. sure he looked in over his head but lets see what happens. holmgren is happy with him and isn't going any where. so go ahead and keep bitching about it. wasting your time. -

nobody is supporting Shurmur, but you might as well deal with the fact that he is going to be here for the foreseeable future.wghfan;1034319 wrote:Move forward? LOL. Browns will be in park, and most likely in reverse with this guy. -

Hopefully someone falls in love with Kalil/Claiborne/Blackmon and wants to trade up.wes_mantooth;1034293 wrote:That is mostly what I am hearing. So if you have Luck, and RG3 gone at 1 and 2....what do you do with your 4th?
This whole thing will be MUCH clearer in a little over 2 months when we know what they do in free agency. If they snag two WR's I think it's a safe bet that they will make a play for one of the top QB's. If they sign a Flynn or trade for a Kaepernick-type (name I've heard with Alex Smith breaking out finally), maybe grab one WR in FA they may address other needs.
I just don't see Heckert using a top 5 pick on a WR. -
wes_mantoothIf they sign Flynn, I may cry. It reminds me of the money Cassel made off of those few starts in NE

QB is shitty. Bottom 5 in the league, by FAR the worst in the division. They need weapons but even if they get weapons for McCoy it's like jacking off with a rubber on....waste of time.wghfan;1034323 wrote:The QB is not shitty, the coach is. -

Don't want him either. I think the Rooney's paid the Lions to lay down for Flynn today so Holmgren would "bite" and we'd be stuck in quarterback "purgatory."wes_mantooth;1034331 wrote:If they sign Flynn, I may cry. It reminds me of the money Cassel made off of those few starts in NE
