Had another great tasting last night. The Wife even got to go. Had my first Vicarias torpedo last night. It's not even in the market yet, but one of the owners gave me a sampler. I will be buying a box of these when they come out. They should be out in September and the kickoff party will be at Jungle Jim's. Bought another box of Leccia Whites.

The Wife won a sampler pack in the raffle. It was a good night.

There is not a part of this post that I don't approve.

Having a Drew Estates Java Mint right now according to my friends. Nice taste to it.

The Wife likes that one. She also likes cider too...Just kidding. ;) I've had the Mint before and it's a decent infused cigar. The Wife did have a regular Java a week ago at a tasting and enjoyed it. In fact I did find another on one in my stash for her, but she hasn't had it yet. She was liking the CAO Apple Pie at our last tasting.

Nice tasting again on Thursday. Tried the Avo Heritage. Nice smoke. Looking forward to trying the Zino Platinum LE 2013. No Woodford for me as I had to go to work right after the tasting.

My friends cigar company is off and running. His cigars are being made in the same factory where the Leccia Black is being produced. He showed me an unbanded cigar at the tasting and said it's Sam Leccia's next cigar that will be coming out. He said he probably got it before Sam as he just returned from the factory.

Oh damn. Did you smoke that sumbitch? I would have.

If you are talking about the future Sam stick then no. Jerry said he would give it to me but it was his last one.

I'm looking forward to buying a box of Jerry's blend. Sam tried it and said I've never blended a cigar that tasted that good. His should be out in the next few months. Kickoff party will be at Jungle Jim's... my bankruptcy case will follow a few months later.

Another great cigar tasting. Tonight feature was the Cain and Nub Studio Tobac Tour. I won a box of Cain Straight Ligero Habano 550's. The Wife also won 3 Nub Connecticuts. I had the Cain Straight Ligero Maduro as my first stick of the night. Really enjoyed that one and looking forward to trying the Habano...many of them.

As far as newer brands are concerned (I know it's not "new" in ownership, but you know what I mean), I am really a pretty big fan of Cain. Lucky man!

Another successful night at the tasting. Featured was the Sam Lotano, which I bought but didn't try. Successful because I won, well The Wife won with the money I gave her to buy more tickets, another Humidor. Bought some Sam Leccia Black Rothschild to put in it. It's a nice 150 holder. The picture of it is still in the box.

  • Curly J
    And here are the Sam's

    I think I have a chubby.

Now it's my turn to have a chubbie. Win a box tonight and it was my choice. By the picture you could figure out the featured cigar company tonight...disregard as tapatalk won't let me post it. I won a box of Macanudo 1968 Robusto. Didn't smoke this one tonight, but I'm guessing I will in the near future. Now I really need to condition my new humidor as both of my current ones are full.

One of my staple cigars. I always preferred the Gigante, but it's a damn-fine cigar, no matter how it's wrapped.
  • Curly J
Didn't win shit tonight, but its cool. Tonight it was Huge Cigars. I'm talking 75 and 80 ring gauge. Too large for me but I bought them. Maybe I can pass them off to someone.

Where the fuck do you win all these at?
  • O-Trap
Having a La Flor Dominicana Double Claro.

Fascinating cigar. First, the wrapper is basically green. Second, the smell of the tobacco is sweeter than a normal cigar, but the taste is bitter ... in a good way.

Going perfectly with my Mikkeller Beer Hop Breakfast Oatmeal Stout.

Jungle Jim's. Same place I buy my beer. They have a cigar tasting every week. I just buy a few raffle tickets and hope I win. They have 3 cigars for $15.00 so I just give them $20.00 and get 6 raffle tickets. The Wife might buy $5.00 more at some point. The number of boxes raffled off depends on the amount of tickets sold.

Next Thursday they will feature Camacho. The following Wednesday Cigar Aficionado will be there.

That cigar and beer sounds interesting.

My friends Cigars should be out in September. The sticks are done, they are just waiting on the boxes. I know the release party will be held at Jungle Jim's at a cigar event. Looking forward to that.

Just got some Perdomo Champagne Noir cigars in Maumee. Pretty damn good

If you find that cigar, GET IT. It might be my new favorite, and it's under $10.

I still prefer the natural, but this stick is some quality.

Oh you know I will. I actually looked for it Friday night. They carry that brand, but not that stick. The ones I've had from them before were a letdown, but that was years ago. Might need to revisit them.
  • O-Trap
    They'll be easy to spot.

Yep, they're that green. It's not the lighting. And truthfully, this is about lifesize for the ones I had.

They burn slow, though, if they've been kept well.
