I have A few too many as you can see from my pic...never mind as this New Tapatalk won't let me add a picture. SHITTY App. -

Had one the other night, as well. The classic Anniversary Series is a regular go-to for me, but the Noir held its own.Classyposter58;1623804 wrote:Got a Perdomo Champagne Noir in Maumee. Pretty good stuff -
Curly JIt's been a while since anything was posted on this thread. I just heard that General Cigars has bough Torano Family Cigar. Kinda sad since I know the National Sales Manager for Torano and they are not retaining the sales portion of the company. They still don't know what's up with the Leccia Cigars as they were distributed by Torano.
I'm still doing the Thursday cigar events. I was lucky enough to meet Matt Booth of Room 101 cigars and James Brown of Black Label Trading (BLTC). Both were very cool and have some nice Blends. Me and my buddy both one boxes of BLTC Morphine. They were the final prizes of the night and we won back to back sitting by each other.
Tonight is Oliva Tobacco. The rep is actually bringing back the Studio Tobac Tour, which Oliva has discontinued. Not sure how he's pulling it of but whatever. I'm not a huge Oliva fan, but this sales rep is pretty cool guy.
I find myself smoking more of the smaller brands as of late. -
Curly JSo What does everyone think about Swisher buying Drew Estates ???

I'm not actually surprised. Drew Estates has a pretty paltry line of decent cigars if we go by how much they sell each year. The company's cash cows are Acid and Java, which are really nothing to speak of, so it actually makes sense as a business deal.Curly J;1666406 wrote:So What does everyone think about Swisher buying Drew Estates ??? -

A friend of mine told me this was going to happen a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering long term what will happen to Liga and Undercrown.O-Trap;1666414 wrote:I'm not actually surprised. Looks like General acquired Leccia Tobacco. They will be re-branding His cigars. He will be working with Michael Gianini with the Foundry Brand. He got to keep his name and signature as that was not part of the deal. (Smart move) -

Liga and Undercrown will probably be lower quality than they are currently ... best case.Curly J;1666419 wrote:A friend of mine told me this was going to happen a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering long term what will happen to Liga and Undercrown.

This is assuming they're indeed buying them for the Acid and Java brands, which I think they are.
I agree on Leccia. He's built a good reputation for himself, and it's wisest for him to be the brain behind his brand. -
Curly JSam is a great guy. I met him a couple of times. He worked closely with my friend's cigar line Vicarias. He was even at the kick off party for them. He said he had to be there because he had a hand in it.
General only bought his blends. Let's hope they don't mess with them.
I finally tried the DE Kentucky Fire Cured. I think it was overdone. Too much smoke flavor...not suprising. I prefer Sam's KFC to Drew's. -
Classyposter58The new Perdomo Double Aged Vintage are excellent. Damn the guy in Maumee cut me a deal on them and they are smooth and flavorful
