Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Commander of AwesomeI played Oblivion in college as well, thankfully it was during summer classes. I would come home from work, turn the game on around 6 and say I'd play for an hour then get dinner. I would look up and it would be 9 just like that. Grab something to eat and then say alright I'll finish this real quick then turn it off. Next thing I know its almost 2 am lol. Swear that game made me time travel.

The talking dog is sweet! Most of the Daedra quests are. Peryite's has a tedious dungeon, but the "vision quest" you go on to learn about his mission for you is a nice trip. I think the only Daedra I didn't do was Mephala's because you need to get a clue from an innkeeper to talk to the Whiterun Jarl's son...and when I looked that up online, I'd already overthrown the dude, so I never bothered to see if I could still get the quest. Think that was the one CoA was talking about where you get the armor or sword that gets more powerful if you sacrifice a bunch of followers to it.sjmvsfscs08;1129681 wrote:I'm on a quest with a talking dog. This game = GOAT. Nothing really comes close. My mother is worried about my Architecture Calc class this quarter because of this game.....with good reason haha -

You can still do Mephala's quest if you've overthrown the Jarl of Whiterun in the civil war storyline. Look for him in a basement in Solitude.Heretic;1129999 wrote:The talking dog is sweet! sjmvsfscs08So I have like 15 quests open right now, and I'm going through them one by one to just eliminate the random ones before I add even more onto my list haha
So I was walking alon one quest, and found a cool Thalmor base. So I googled it to see what it really was (I was on a quest and didn't want to fuck it up righ then...) and it turns out it's the location of the end of another quest. I mean, I have to eventually have to rescue some woman's son from that place, but I have only just initiated the quest and don't really "know the location yet."
If I just ransack this place and find the boy, am I good to go? I don't really want to do the steps of the quest since I already know where he is and just stumbled upon it... -

I'm guessing that the guy won't be there until you start the quest. Usually, that's how games like this work. The area will be there, but important things like key people won't be there or won't be able to be interacted with until they're triggered.sjmvsfscs08;1130083 wrote:So I have like 15 quests open right now, and I'm going through them one by one to just eliminate the random ones before I add even more onto my list haha

But that might be wrong. I know I found certain key quest items in dungeons, but had no idea what they were for until finding the quest they were connected to. -
sjmvsfscs08I have started the quest, I just haven't gone through the bulletpoints like one normally would.

Commander of AwesomeI've noticed a few more kill moves since the update. I wish they'd hurry up with expansion packs. I hope they're as big as shivering isles and not fail packs like FO series. Only one of FO3's was worth it.

hoops23I honesty haven't played Skyrim in a couple months. I was pretty far with my original Nord character then my release day PS3 died.
Got a new PS3 and started a new Dark Elf character. Think I'll play some tonight. -
Commander of AwesomeI've been playing very slowly as of late. I turned it on for about 30 min last night, then I turned on the nba games. I plan on playing more tonight.
-
Commander of AwesomeStill plugging along. Probably close to 200 hours and I discovered a location I have never been to last night. Ansilvund Excavation, north of Riften. Pretty long mine with a decent boss fight at the end. Anyone hear anything on DLC?

I'll have to check and see if I did that place. After a while, all the vunds and vundes start merging together. As for the DLC...there may be an announcement of some kind tomorrow about that. Because I use Twitter to get Elder Scrolls updates!Commander of Awesome;1145101 wrote:Still plugging along. Probably close to 200 hours and I discovered a location I have never been to last night. Could we finally be getting an announcement? -
Commander of AwesomeNice, looking forward to it. Thanks for the heads up.
"We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support of the game. This week Todd informed me that the average Skyrim play time (across all three platforms) is 85 hours, and 30% of you have played more than 100 hours of the game. These are truly astounding numbers!"
I'm surprised its only 30% tbh. -
HereticIndeed. If only 30% are over 100, that makes my over-200 look even more geeky. Damn...

McFly1955Anybody download Dawnguard?
I just bought Saints Row The Third, and am just about to start it tonight/tomorrow, so I'm not in a rush to download Dawnguard.....but I'll probably end up downloading any day now anyways because I'm impatient.
Let me know how it is... -

Probably be a while for me. Right now, I'm going through the Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition and then I might play Red Dead Redemption. I'm basically using this post-Skyrim time to play all the huge "you will have no life for some time" titles I've missed over the last couple years. And then, I'll get the Skyrim DLC and start a new quest.McFly1955;1212279 wrote:Anybody download Dawnguard?

I did read online a guy's blog that does say if you have a powerful Skyrim character, you'll at least be way overpowered for the early stages of Dawnguard. -

Red Dead Redemption is in my top 5 games of this generation. The entire game was great and ending really took me by surprise. Love it.Heretic;1212302 wrote:Probably be a while for me. I'm finishing up the Mass Effect series... About halfway through the 3rd right now. ME2 was epic. ME3 has been as well, sadly I hear the ending really letdown the series.. Supposed to be releasing DLC to fix it though.
Ironically, I haven't beaten Skyrim yet. -
Commander of AwesomeDidn't realize the DLC was out. I actually played last night and returned the skeleton key, still missing an achievement for the theives guild though, not sure how to get it. My goal was to have all 1000 achievements by the time the DLC came out, looks like I failed.
-
I Wear PantsI'm gonna start playing again next week. Should be good.
-
Commander of AwesomePicked it up last night. So far so good. The cross bow is pretty cool, though its slower than a bow. Nice thing is that it shoots straight so you dont have to guess on the arc.
Dragon weapons are fucking boss, they're stronger than daedric weapons too which is nice, so finally have a use for your 70+ dragon bones.
Horse combat is pretty cool as well, its nice to ride through a crowd swinging your sword.
Only just started the missions, but so far so good. Overall a good DLC thus far, I'm looking forward to becoming a vampire lord. Anyone else pick it up yet? -

Yeah. I played it for a couple hours and it seemed sweet. Not much into it; like a couple quests for the ranch chick, a couple for the local sheriff, rescued the snake oil salesman and did a couple "?" quests...and a bandit hunt or two...and blew most of the earnings on getting assdrilled at poker -- maybe that "couple hours" was actually an entire afternoon and night...lol). It'll suck going from Fallout 3 to it, though, because of how different the controls for VATS in FO3 is compared to the slow-time shooting in Red Dead. I'll be hitting the wrong buttons constantly.hoops23;1212473 wrote:Red Dead Redemption is in my top 5 games of this generation. The entire game was great and ending really took me by surprise. After Mass Effect 3 goes down in price, I think I'll hit up all three back-to-back-to-back in short order to get the full effect of the trilogy. -

I put a TON of hours into RDR. By far my favorite R* game. I still play it til this day. The DLC for the Undead Nightmare is pretty awesome as well.Heretic;1215215 wrote:Yeah. Unfortunately, I couldn't play ME1 because I have a PS3, but I did start with ME2. The PS3 version of ME2 includes an opening sequence comic that goes through ME1 and allows you to make some of the key decisions from that game to shape your character. ME2 was a GREAT game. Also one of my favorites. ME3 has been a blast so far as well. The dialogue, story, graphics, gameplay, etc all are top notch. I've heard bad things about ME3's ending, so I'm scared to finish it in fear that it'll ruin the entire experience... Thankfully Bioware is releasing a free DLC this summer to add onto the ending.
