What ive been doing is just disenchanting everything i can(no matter how much its worth, gold isnt really a factor) and enchanting all the rings and other items i get with random enchants and use up whatever trash soul gems i get and save the grand and black ones for things i actually need 2 enchant.Hb31187;1044522 wrote:Got my smithing up to 100.
Ive heard on here that enchanting is the way to go with armor and with weapons, but im so fucking lost when it comes to that concept.(like i said, ima noob) -
OneBuckeye^ You are right. I have been buying every soul gem in sight and making hide clothing and buying cheap clothes to enchant. You need to make sure to have a weapon with soul trap on it so you are collecting every soul possible.

Black Star is the way to go. All humans give grand souls, while very few monsters do (maybe highest level Draugr, the toughest Falmer if you're at a very high level and mammoths...as well as a couple unique boss encounters), so you're guaranteed of having a good refill for a weapon if you have the Black Star.Commander of Awesome;1044629 wrote:Finally did the Daedric Star mission last night and chose to go Black Star route. Hope I chose the correct path, which one did you guys go with? Haven't applied it to a weapon yet. Also finally got around to finding ther blades place, through Auldin's Wall. I've been holding off on doing it so I'd have the two followers but I'm near maxed out character and found them to be in the way more than I like having them around. Plus they really cramped my upgrade sneaking campaign. -
OneBuckeyeNot to mention the glitch that lets the black star catch black and white souls.
-
Commander of AwesomeWhat's this glitch and how do I use it?
-
OneBuckeye
check out the USEP wiki pages. I don't think you need to do anything, if you catch a white grand sould it will go into the black star. Simple as that.Commander of Awesome;1045005 wrote:What's this glitch and how do I use it? -
Commander of AwesomeFinished up Dark Brotherhood tonight, disappointed over all in the quest line. Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion was incredible, this didn't live up to it. Hardly any secret killing contracts, no imagination etc... The story line was dumb as well, Astrid conspires behind your back twice? Come one thats weak.
Now he wants me to go spend money in Riften to spruce up the new sanctuary. Also sounds like you can still get missions from the nightmother. Hopefully these are better.
Probably going to work on Companions then move on to Mages before finishing Thieves guild. -
I Wear PantsI'm just starting to get my smithing up now. So many iron daggers.
-
Commander of AwesomeOne of these nights I'm going to have to motor through enchanting the way I did with smithing to get it up to level 100.

Yeah, me too...It is definitely a more time consuming process than smithing....Commander of Awesome;1049083 wrote:One of these nights I'm going to have to motor through enchanting the way I did with smithing to get it up to level 100.
I got enchanting up to the mid-70s or so, and haven't worked on it since.... -

It is not even close to being that easy. I have been focusing on it the last couple of sessions and went up 10 points by exhausting all soul gems. (I had a lot). I replenished my stock but haven't cleared out any dungeons lately to refill. Definately more time consuming. I then ran into the issue of having nothing to enchant. So then I made hide armor and bought and stole clothes. Still very annoying. I'm at 80 ish right now.Commander of Awesome;1049083 wrote:One of these nights I'm going to have to motor through enchanting the way I did with smithing to get it up to level 100.
How many jobs do you need to do for delvin and vex before the fence gold is up to 4k? -
RotinajIve been working on enchanting a little everyday for the last week and a half. Its up 2 like 95. I have a shit ton of gems but keep running out of things 2 enchant. Ill probably just pick up everything possible in the next cave i go into. Hopefully that is enough. As soon as i get my ench 2 100 ill probably start doing the main questline(have only done like 10) or the civil war thing.

You should do the main quest before the civil war becauseRotinaj;1049140 wrote:Ive been working on enchanting a little everyday for the last week and a half. Its up 2 like 95. My enchanting has been rising faster than my smithing. Maybe it's because I'm enchanting all of these iron daggers before I sell them.McFly1955;1049100 wrote:Yeah, me too...It is definitely a more time consuming process than smithing....

Enchanting levels faster than smithing, but the materials for enchant can be harder to get as it requires the person to fill soul gems.I Wear Pants;1049364 wrote:My enchanting has been rising faster than my smithing. Maybe it's because I'm enchanting all of these iron daggers before I sell them.
When you enchant your daggers make sure you use "banish." -
gorocks99I have about 100 filled soul gems as I have a soul trap-enchated bow but my enchanting isn't great (I think it's around level 40?) so it's time to go to town on enchanting daggers.
-
2quik4uYou can always go to merchants and buy the gems from them already filled. After buying your soul gems from the merchant, save your game, then hit the merchant until you get a bounty or kill them, then load your saved game and the merchants stock will be refilled. You can do this an infinite amount of times.

I just have to finish Hail Sithis. So far, the guilds and stuff have been a bit weaker than in Oblivion, while everything else has been better.Commander of Awesome;1048762 wrote:Finished up Dark Brotherhood tonight, disappointed over all in the quest line. Probably going to work on Companions then move on to Mages before finishing Thieves guild.
The Companions was basically six quests where the plot made this huge jump between/during each one with no real build. And the occasional random "go here and kill this" deal tossed in to flesh things out. Haven't really gotten far enough into the Mage or Thieves (basically doing minor random quests to unlock the city quests to give the guild influence in other cities...of which I did Windheim's last night) to judge their stories. -

McFly1955After 72 hours, I just finished up the main quest and am going to take a little Skryim break for awhile....
Gonna get back into some Battlefield 3 and pick up Batman and Uncharted soon.
I don't know how much of Skyrim I've actually completed...I feel like I did a lot, but I know there is a ton more to do..
Quests completed - 49
Misc objectives - 74
main quests - 18
Did the thieves, companions, and mages guilds
Still have to do the civil war, half of the daedric quests, and the dark brotherhood...
I did the same thin with Oblivion...Played the crap out of it for a few months for 60 hours or so, then didn't play for a few months, then played another 20 hours or so.... -
Commander of AwesomeI was doing a Companions quest last night (almost at the end) and in route to a location I ran into a guy that said he taked to me when I was doing the "hangover" quest. Says that Sam and I told him to go into a bandit camp and we'd pay him $10k gold. I told him to shove off. To which he was non too pleased. Pretty cool little random encounter they threw into the game I thought.

The great thing about that is just how funnily it tied into the main quest. You can persuade him down to something like 750 gold, so I did that, figuring it'd be a cool magic hat. No...it's just a regular hat. No armor rating, no enchantments, no nothing. Which is fitting for a quest where you pick up random junk in a church, recover a goat, recover a wedding ring, etc.Commander of Awesome;1054318 wrote:I was doing a Companions quest last night (almost at the end) and in route to a location I ran into a guy that said he taked to me when I was doing the "hangover" quest. Yeah it was pretty funny how they worked it in. I told him to piss off to which he didn't appreciate. Perhaps I should have just given the bum his seven fiddy.Heretic;1054637 wrote:The great thing about that is just how funnily it tied into the main quest. Finished the Companions last night and I'm still not sure what they hell they were all about. Ok their Werewolves, given the gift/curse by witches. That's all fine and dandy but the leader guy said it was a curse and wanted out of it. I didn't get why. I don't seem to show any negative effects the way being a vampire does. Did I miss something?
On to the Mages. -

The "curse" part of it was b/c he couldn't get into Sovngarde being a werewolf, I think.Commander of Awesome;1055509 wrote:Yeah it was pretty funny how they worked it in. I told him to piss off to which he didn't appreciate. Perhaps I should have just given the bum his seven fiddy.

Yeah. As a Nord, he wanted to go to Sovngarde to be with all his Nord ancestors in post-death-hero-land. But as a werewolf, he was fated to spend his afterlife with the Daedric Prince Hircine on his plain hunting forever. As he got older, he regretted that choice.gorocks99;1055535 wrote:The "curse" part of it was b/c he couldn't get into Sovngarde being a werewolf, I think.
My character doesn't. He married crazy werewolf chick Aela The Fucking Huntress and, after saving the world, we're mauling everyone in it!
