Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I haven't touched it since my last post -- so almost a month ago. I've been playing a ton of Rayman Origins (about an hour left to beat it tonight). Then I'm moving on to Dark Souls.

I'm ready for some Skyrim DLC, though.
Almost done. Getting tired with it, but with the number of hours I put into it, that's no surprise. 200 hours is just crazy for anything.

The Civil War, with the exception of Ulfric's occasional speech, was kinda boring. Most of the quests were just (1) go to fort and meet up with other Stormcloaks followed by (2) kill Imperial soldiers until game decides you've killed enough. Blah...

I'm going through the rest of the main quest now. On the way to Blackreach to get Elder Scroll right now.

    Understandable.

I got bored around 70-80 hours, so I can't imagine another 100+ hours on top of that.

I'm sure I'll be ready for more when the DLC comes out, just got burned out and am enjoying some other games in the meantime.

I'm finding enjoyment in just searching out stuff I haven't found yet. I think I'm up to level 54, 341 locations discovered. Level 100 enchanting, smithing, archery, sneak. Level ~90 one-handed, dish out around 160 damage per hit of my sword. Thinking of starting a new character soon though and trying to go through full mage (no weapons).

I'm at around 140 hours, still have main quest line to finsih, civil war and theives guild. Lvl 51 100 smithing and heavy armor, 1 handed 96, archery is what I'm working on right now currently at 64. Once I finish all the story lines I'll start a sneak archer I think. I'd like to get a character to level 81 just to do it.

Been a few weeks since I played... Picked up Gran Turismo 5 XL edition and have been mostly playing that, NBA 2K12, BF3, and Deus Ex..

Deus Ex is a great game...

Blackreach is immense. And looks good, too! Like a huge underground cave/city/etc. It also took a long time to go through, so I didn't finish the main quest last night. Now I'm getting ready to get into the dungeon that leads to where Alduin is hiding. So maybe tonight will be the end of days.

I just went to Blackreach last night, but I didn't fully explore it. I was crunched for time and wanted to finish the quest. Perhaps I'll go back, but fuck I dont want to go through that ruin again.

Apparently, there's a secret dragon in Blackreach. If you Unrelenting Force shout some orange globe above the Silent City part of it, that makes it appear. Sneaky...makes me kinda want to go back there now.

    Must. Go. Back. Find. Dragon.

    You ****...........

I made Alduin my bitch though. 100 sneak, speechcraft, 90+ in archery, im a thievin, arrow shootin sumbitch

Beat the main quest last night. Think I'll put it on hold for a bit (ie: a really long time), although I might hunt down the Blackreach dragon and finish Hermaeus Mora's daedric quest first. And maybe FINISH the thieves' guild, since I haven't returned the skeleton key to end that.
  • Commander of Awesome
Heard giving back the Skeleton Key isn't worth it. I think I will save before so, give it back for achievement, then reload thus keeping it.
  • Heretic
Yeah. That's why I waited until I'd done everything else I really wanted to do with my character before returning it. Because I can't imagine ANY reward I'd get that's better than never having to worry about lockpicks or using 15 of them to find the exact area I need to be for a master-level lock to open.

Meh at the point im at where I have so much gold from fencing and looting dungeons, i just have 300+ lockpicks on hand so it didnt kill me to give away the skeleton key.

Just started a new character today, argonian mage. I've not yet level 10 but I'm level 40 destruction. Haven't gone to see the Jarl of Whiterun, don't want to do anything dragon related until I'm pretty good at most all magic and enchanting. Have just been exploring seeing what I can do before dragons get in the way.

But let me tell you, getting the Elder Scroll at level 6 was a bitch. Falmer/Dwarven Centurions/Blackreach aren't easy at that level.

I'm really looking forward to starting a new character. I'm level 53 nord right now, and want to start a sneaking accher. I'm just about done with the theives guild, and have about to fight alduin and then the civil war. Also have the annoying elf blood quest to complete.

Once I've finished those I will start my new character. Getting tired of my character and feel like I'm grinding now. Really annoyed at the Smithing tree and having to go around the right side of the tree to get Daedric. They really shouldn't have connected the tree from Dragon to daedric because its misleading.

I finished everything I needed to on Friday. The blood quest is a bitch. According to the UESP wiki site, all the races are in that Alfland dungeon (Falmers to fight and apparently corpses of all the "mer" races)...or maybe there and Blackreach, because the Falmer have a bunch of servants in the Silent City buildings. I didn't know that. Got Falmer blood from a corpse there, but everything else came from other sources. Including running the roads until I found a Thalmor group (for high elf blood) and getting Bosmer blood from a random bandit. I think I got orc blood from one of a group of poachers in the middle of nowhere, too.

Destruction is good, but you usually need more to really dominte. I would make armor to save the %magicka spent on destruction. (you can get it to 100%) I would also utilize another field of magic. I used conjouration. It gives the enemy something to beat on while you kill it. I didnt dabble with alteration as an offensive magic skill, but I'm sure you can make that work too.

So far it has been working, I'm level 60 destruction and level 12 overall and using chain lightning kills most everything in one or two strikes. Nothing like going into a cave and taking out three bandits at once. I quick completed the College quests and Gauldur Amulet quests as well so I have the arch mage's robes, the amulet and morokei to boost my magicka.

BTW the second play through is great so far

You should be fine unitl/if you level up your other skills. I was leveling 7+ skills lockpick, sneak, one hand, light armor, destruction, alchemy, enchanting all at once, with speech and restoration just naturally going. This kept me going up levels pretty fast. I was at a 60 destruction when I was probably levels 20+.

You're making me anxious to start my next character. I wasted a lot of perks trying to keep a balanced player early before I discovered having a completed tree really is a waste. I even put some perks in conjuration which I never use.

Yeah no kidding, thanks for the heads up on using a wiki, I was thinking I'd have to just buckle down and spend two hours wandering around trying to find them. Might grab some beer and do that anyways though....

Yeah. I got VERY lucky that it didn't take long. The Falmer was in Alfland and if you kinda botch up the Windhelm murder mystery and have the court mage arrested, you get another chance where the killer will be found stalking a victim in the market part of town. He killed her before I got to him and the victim was a dark elf, so BOOM...another one down, since for some reason, her body never disappeared. And I just blundered across the other three one after the next walking from the overworld exit from Blackmarch (Temple of Mzark) down to the place you go to finish the Thieves Guild (Twilight Sephulchre or something like that).

Finished the blood quest last night. Went through Alfland dungeon again for the 3rd time, but because I had just went through it I only got 2 blood types there. It did allow me to go through Blackreach again, man that place is huge.

The blood type that took the longest was the high elf, thankfully with the new patch the Thalmor embassy was back open so I just there for the last blood type.

Which way did you guys go in the Civil War?
