Fuck Goodell

Do agree with this. He reduced an alleged rapists punishment from 6 to 4 games yet increases this on "she said, she said."

Did a bit of digging after I made my comment about Roethlisberger. Totally retract what I said. Dude flat out raped that girl in Georgia and tried a few more times at local bars in PA. So, I guess Jack the Raper (your boy) got off super light too.

So, since it was a settlement between the NFL and NFLPA, I'm guessing they split the difference between the original 6 and the full year it was rumored that Goodell wanted.

I'm wondering with the number of games if it was done to make sure he has accrued a season on his contract. Why "11?" Almost every suspension I've seen has been an even number. And the league with their "optics" are hilarious, bringing him back for "must see TV" in Houston. Can't lose that chance to cash in.

I agree with this punishment. Now it's time to unload some quality talent for JIMMY G!

Jimmy seems like he's got a lot of baggage and may be a locker room problem.

Sounds like the perfect situation. Back up the Brinks truck....again!

Have to find a way to get to 6-5 before he returns. Kind of funny his first game back is vs Houston.

Agreed. NFL with their "we care about women" fake optics. Meanwhile, "let's bring him back in his first game to the city where the accusations started. CHA-CHING !!!"

Goodell and the Shield are such a joke....as is the players union. They wanted to take away his power in these types of situations but ended up reverting the power back to him, in the end, in the new CBA. Too late for Browns fans but the NFLPA needs to fix that shit when they go to the table the next time. The whole Sue Robinson thing was a sham.

Will be VERY interested to see what Alvin Kamara gets.

They're not going after Grapes for an 11 game rental. Even if they did the price wouldn't be very high. He's a worse asset than Mayfield with his salary.

Is Garappolo really worth acquiring? Can’t Brissett keep them in playoff running for 11 games especially with all the other talent around him?

Edit: didn’t see BR’s last post confirming it’s not worth it

Gonna be a wild ride… again. Wasting more years of good players.

Also, my f Goodell statement was about just ignoring an independent arbitrator and doing his own thing. No opinions on Ben vs him. I do agree with BR that the nflpa needs to get him out of the process

I'm not sure Brissett can bridge the gap. He's solid but is he even better than Mayfield?

Keep hearing "just pound the rock with Chubb/Hunt and win with defense." That doesn't fly. Teams have been onto Stefanski's offense since week 1 of last year. Can't just line up and punch em' in the mouth and expect to win. Might get a few, against lesser teams, but it's not sustainable.

And I bit on a fake tweet earlier that said the Browns manhandled the Eagles in today's scrimmage. Scrimmage didn't happen until 2pm and I saw it this morning. Heard the Browns secondary got decimated by Devonta Smith. Browns had limited pass rush as Garrett's been out due to an ailing family member. Schwartz actually caught a pass, which was a plus.

I don't care about the money because Jimmy H. can throw away money, and I don't care about it. But how were we so stupid to give up 3 first round picks?

I don't consider her a reliable source, and apparently she's respected around the league, but MKC alluded to Haslam making this move to "please the fans." Steep price.

People are acting like Deshaun is aging. 3 firsts and that money is a steal if he returns as good as he was before. The Browns made a decision, and football wise it was a home run.

I can’t stand those that say it was a rushed and poor decision. On what grounds is getting someone with Watson’s numbers and age bad business?

The grounds that he already has missed a year and is now out another 11 games.

Not bad but I think the aging is more on the players on the team who are very good and it’s more of a “window” than an age thing.

Vick was older and his 2 years off was 2 years of his body not taking a beating.

Exactly. Chubb, Garrett, Ward, Teller, etc are all in their primes. Every year they don't have a functioning franchise QB, the clock ticks. Especially with Chubb. He's pretty special and I think we all know the shelf life on RB's is short.

If memory serves, while with SF, dude did hook up with a porn chick for a bit, so he could be a great role model for Watson in a "these chicks are used to seeing and getting dick" sort of way.

The biggest issue with bringing in Jimmy G is a potential locker room divide.

From what I've heard, teammates love him and will dive on the sword for him. I know Watson's their (front office/coaches) guy but if JG starts winning (games and the locker room) it could cause a problem when Watson's ready to come back.

I don't think JG would have an issue showcasing himself as a hired gun but, with the fact I'd bet not 100% of the team is "all in" on Watson after these accusations, there could be an issue with teammates wanting to roll with him (JG) instead of DW.

11 games was probably the most Watson would agree to so his contract year counts. I thinks it’s 6 games to count as a contract year
