Blaming everything on the "woke mob" is just a cop out these days. It's played.

My "outrage" starts and ends with the NFL/Goodell's WILDLY inconsistent punishments regarding players acting out of line. There is absolutely no standard.

Can you elaborate on the bolded?

Sure. There have been several attorneys who have chimed in on this. Not going to see stuff like that on ESPN, etc. The belief is that this has been a shakedown by Tony Buzbee.

I'm also interested in the bolded. Didn't realize I was apart of the woke crowd gobbling up outrage that bias media is feeding me.

If you're laying your honest cards on the table, call it what it really is like others have. He plays for the Browns, so you're going to find a way to be cool with what he did and "Eh who cares not like the NFL is that moral anyways." If he played for the Ravens, we'd already have a nickname for him and be complaining about the six games. But its the Browns and he makes us better so oh well.

Im ok admitting he’s a sleaze bag, and ok with him on the team if it means wins. I don’t think it’s difficult to admit. It’s no different than bengals fans turning a blind eye to Mixon being a piece of shit and Steelers fans turning a blind eye on rapistberger being a piece of shit. These are just two examples of many all over the NFL.

What I won’t do is go through the mental gymnastics that Steelers fans went thru for nearly 20 years to defend rapistberger. I would have given them credit if they were willing to admit he is a piece of shit, but they are fine with the wins he brought.

I think it's probably most telling that Roger's idea of justice tends to put heavier or, at minimum, comparable punishments on minor league stuff where the only real harm is "optics" (ie: Josh Gordon with weed; Calvin Ridley with placing a tiny bet -- by NFL salary standards; for him, I'd guess $1500 would be like us putting a couple bucks on a bet -- on his team while on some sort of "non-football illness" list and not a factor in the game; Tom Brady with really shaky evidence concerning football manipulation) than it does on actual wrong-doing, where guys like Greg Hardy or Ray Rice can have serious allegations of being a piece of shit, but little or nothing happens unless some sort of major proof of those allegations gets released.

As for this case, I'm just enjoying how at least part of a certain fanbase went from "Rapistberger" and "where there's smoke, there's fire" to "they want money" and "woke mob/media bias" and "everyone has bad people on their team, so why not us?" when one of their guys got a bunch of allegations against him. It's nice to finally have verification that for all these years, it all was nothing more than faux outrage based on losing 95% of the time to their rival.

It’s just exhausting and all caused by the star player being creepy.

I do agree Goodell is going to push some more basically just to appease those that are still outraged.

Early on it was said the Texans helped with this? Are they getting punished at all?

Texans settled pretty quickly.

Steelers fans still going through mental gymnastics for rapistberger after a decade. It took most browns fans no more than a month to label deshaun for what he is.

Inb4 casual fan Gut comes in to explain why rapistberger is a good guy.

Watson is a sleazy/shady character most likely and even if it was one, it was too many.

My issue is all of these optics about 24-26+ "victims." I call bullshit. There may be 2 or 3 (again, too many) but the rest of them are looking to hop aboard the gravy train. Some of them did porn, etc.

No defense for what he did but most of these "victims" are part of a money grab.

Play with your weiner with shady people….you get shady results.

When he does comeback it’ll exhaust the entire league again for that week.

Unless he does something big and meaningful (as a person) as long as he’s in the league they’ll wear him out with these talks as thing ms go nowadays.

I’m surprised Mixon doesn’t get it more but time does fade these things a bit….but my god actual video of him destroying that girl in the face and people buying his jersey. That’s crazy to me.

The Watson thing is so stupid because he should've just went the Charlie Sheen route and got a prostitute and had them sign an NDA. Dude must have had a weird fetish with masseuses. I know that may sound blunt but he would've known what he was getting.

One of my all-time favorite baseball players was Andruw Jones and if he wasn’t in CF redefining the position….he was in the strip club living that life. Must’ve had good food their too because he likely ate his way out of the HOF.

Despicable lifestyle in my eyes but in the field as a defensive player he’s probably my all-time favorite.

For those guys who don't want to get tied down, it's probably a cheaper lifestyle. Again (blunt) but Sheen said "it's cheaper for them to go home" or something to that effect. For these rich athletes/celebs, Sheen is likely right with divorce rates.

Hey, I'm not among the crowd yelling for multi-year suspensions and whatever for Watson. I'm at least trying to avoid the hypocrisy of saying "unproven allegations are only unproven allegations" for my guy, while trying to pile on when it happens to another team's guy.

And "mental gymnastics"? Heh, I'm just enjoying how "most Browns fans" will be putting the "Watson's a creep" vibe way on the back burner as soon as he wins a couple key games for the team and already are trying to blunt the whole "our QB is a creeper" deal with "everyone else has bad guys" and "it's all about teh wokeness" comments. Shit, if anything, I wish the whole woke stuff had been a thing back in the day. In retrospect, just dropping "K, woke lib!" in response to every "Rapistberger" would have been more fun than anything I actually did say.

I'm friends and family with a LOT of Cleveland fans. The hypocrisy is obvious. Just win baby!

I think it's no secret that I can't stand Lebron James and think he's a hypocritical, racist POS but when he returned I didn't stop rooting for a team I'd followed since the mid 70's.

Not thrilled that the Browns current QB is a creepy. That's happened and can't be taken back so that stigma will stick with him.

Not going to stop rooting for the Browns though. Players come and players go. Always the name on the front, not the back. Just like I know there were a lot of Steeler fans that didn't like Roethlisberger representing their team but didn't drop them after years of fandom.

His penalty was decided by a former federal appeals judge.  So I assume she has a reasonable basis for her decision.

Which is where Goodell comes in and his comment's valid. If Goodell changes this he's basically saying "thanks for your time but I know more about the legal process and punishment than you do."

Goodell's been a clown in doling out punishment. One year for Ridley? Seriously? And some of these guys get popped for PED's which are in OTC supplements. It's one thing to be injecting cypionate (or another testosterone form) but completely different to get popped for something that was in your protein powder. Then you have guys like previously mentioned (AB, Harty, etc) getting slaps for very egregious acts. He's ALL over the place.

The Ridley one really sticks out....so absurd. That's 1 game, MAYBE 3.

At the end of the day if the roles are reversed for the next ten years (browns fans enjoying wins with a piece of shit QB and Steelers fans in mediocre limbo), we know which would be your preference.   So yeah, based on a sample size of how Steelers fans have acted over a decade, their shit falls on deaf ears.

LeBron being a POS seems far fetched. He’s not very smart or very mature but POS doesn’t feel like the best descriptor

He's an idiot. He refers to NBA owners with their "slave" mentality yet he's firmly in bed with Nike and their slave-like sweatshops overseas. And there's nobody that can convince me he's not a racist. Sure, he does good for his hometown community (bravo) but is also known for being a supercheap to wait staff, etc.

Welp, no shocker here in that the NFL appealed it and it's now in Goodell's hands.

I expect them to give him an indefinite suspension, the NFLPA to take it to federal court, get an injunction, and Watson to play in week 1, and going forward, until it's resolved.

And this is going to get REAL ugly. So ugly that Robert Kraft may not WANT to own a team after the NFLPA gets done with him.

Lol, that's GODell in a nutshell. Have an independent judge hear the case, wait for her verdict and then decide that she didn't do things exactly like he would have, so it's up to him to take over the proceedings, so things happen the way he wants.
