Again, maybe the fact they just went straight to shooting him is why people are upset?
No taser, no nonlethal force, no other means, just deadly force.
The guy can be wrong, but also the people can be upset at the cop for using deadly force in a situation where deadly force does not seem warranted.

Does not seem warranted....That's the million dollar question. They supposedly had already tased him, and there was reportedly a warrant out for his arrest.
But we don't know what led up to that or why they were pointing a gun at him in the first place and what procedural errors may or may not have been made. I do know the police union has urged the public to withhold judgement, which is unusual given the video unless you know something. But with no body cams, if there is something exculpatory I don't know how you'll convince the public.
Of course, if he had been reaching for a gun it wouldn't really mater to the rioters, would it?
