Trying to be logical and use reason with SnL is about as fruitful as doing the same with QO and Spock.

Not good today. 951 deaths. Hospitalizations are on the rise too.
I woul guess more people are wearing masks now than in March-April. Yet there's a spike trending higher than at that time. I don't think masks are all that relevant to altering how COVID behaves. I think this thing is going to run its course regardless of our actions. Like everyone, I hope it's soon.

Oh, I'm well aware of Dankhouse, it's my favorite brewery. I don't make a trip to Newark without at least one visit. I love their collab with Pretentious, so I'll be sure to stop by Pretentious on the way up.
Damn if your ever up there on a weekend let me know I’ll buy you a beer. It’s about a 30 minute drive but I use any excuse to get Dankhouse

As someone who went to OU, what is the root cause? I'd normally be thinking college kids partying all the time and keeping Court Street packed, but it's summer, so I wouldn't think the college numbers would be wrecking the place.
I went to OU as well. I would guess students got bored of being stuck at home and were able to go to their off campus housing and party without worrying about their parents health. If your under 30 and have no pre existing conditions your like 99.99999999% to survive so I probably would have took the risk to if I was a student and knew I wouldn’t hurt my parents.

Current plan is the 31st-1st, and then maybe the week of the 9th-15th.

No one is saying you shouldn’t have gone to the protest.
People are saying that doing so, then calling others that are doing, what you deem, risky behavior “MORONS AND IDIOTS” is completely hypocritical.
Not a single person is saying you were wrong or is blaming you for going to a protest. I said myself I would have gone to a protest if I knew 100% there was no chance for violence.
People are just calling out your hypocrisy afterwards.

My buddy goes to Athens once a month for work. He said he was pretty sure no one in Athens knew what Covid is.

I just got an email from the Miami county health board and they said that the CDC states that wearing a mask DOES NOT reduce the risk of transmission and if you are exposed to a active person that regardless of a mask being on or not, you are quarintined for the same amount of time.
So theres that.
Did they at least spell quarantined right?

So, are you lying or is the Miami County Health Board full of shit?

I think masks help, but certainly not as much as some posters wishfully think they do. If masks helped as much as some people believe they do, then reopening schools wouldn’t even be a debate.

Zuh? Things were trending down, then a ton of people took "things can reopen" to mean that all is well. From personal viewing, mask wearing has gone down a lot locally. Going back up now, but it def went down over the past couple months.

I'm sure masks count for something. I just don't believe they are the powerful force that can change the trajectory much. I'm all in favor of wearing them if it helps and I wear them wherever I am required.
