Yes, I brought it up. I'm not embarrassed about going and I've never claimed to be perfect. After putting myself at risk, I isolated in order to keep my community safe. That's been my goal this entire time, and I do the best I can. If others would do the best they could, we'd be a lot closer to ending this shit. Being anti-mask is not doing the best you can. Feel free to call me a hypocrite. My feelings aren't hurt.

I don’t think you’re embarrassed or your feelings are hurt. Your not in S&L’s crew of one. I actually agree with most of your post, but my point is if you’re going to lecture others about not doing everything you can to prevent the spread, but then put yourself in a position that does the exact opposite, then you’re going to get shit for it. Whether you believe you did everything possible to be safe, you did put yourself and others in a compromising position at a large gathering. No other way to hack it.

I would say the same shit if you went to a Browns championship parade.  If that happens though, I’m going and I don’t care if we all get coronavirus.

Edit: Justin can we get that multi-quote feature back?  It would also probably bring Otrap back.

I live in Birmingham, AL (Jefferson County).  Masks have been mandated for the county and it looks like most everyone is adhering.  The only exceptions I've personally seen are certain bars/restaurants that seem to be lax, but that's anecdotal.

I believe masks probably do help lessen the transmission.  But I don't believe lack of masks is solely accountable for the spikes.  I think the virus is going to go through the population in whatever way it's going to regardless of our efforts.  Taking precautions is important.  But my feeling is that there are way more complicated natural forces at work than just to explain this with mask vs. no mask.  This virus is like a hurricane - it's going to do its thing until it blows out.  It's been here for long enough now that people are at wit's end with it and frustrated.  Human nature wants to assign  blame.  However in this case, I don't think there's a bad guy.  It's just a shitty thing that will unfortunately be with us until it's not.

The updates I made to fix performance issues makes it a lot harder to implement a multi-quote feature if the posts you're trying to quote are on different pages. If they're on the same page, it's not terribly difficult. I'd have to put a decent amount of thought and effort into solving the multi-page issue.

I think we can all agree (besides Spock) that this might be the dumbest shit ever. Anti-maskers are now purchasing masks that don’t actually do anything to protect the spread. Idiots are going out of their way to find masks that aren’t helpful as an f you, I guess?

Anti-vaxers wish they had thought of that!

I wear my mask when I’m out and make sure to social distance as much as possible. At the same time I’m still going on with my life visiting breweries (mostly staying on patios) and restaurants. If we all stay in our houses with the doors closed there won’t be to many restaurants, bars, and breweries that survive. Just this week a Columbus brewery posted a plea for people to come in or order some beers for delivery because they are struggling and need help to survive.

Which brewery? I may try to stop by on my way to Newark in two weeks.

Funny that Kane was the lone dissenting vote against a mask mandate in Knox County, TN a few weeks ago.

Pretentious Barrel House. They posted the plea on their Facebook page. They are a sour brewer so if you are into barrel aged sours they have some good stuff. Also make sure to stop by Dankhouse in Newark one of the best breweries in Ohio.

You said this a couple weeks ago:

"Anyone paying attention and can understand statistics knows that the rise in cases is based on two factors: more tests and the protests."

So yeah, you were saying all not that long ago.

My post there did not say all were due to protests.

I'm thinking it through. People who don't wear masks are morons. Especially the "muh rights" crowd.

Statistically or risk wise, then by your own logic, people who go to protests are also morons.

Oh, I'm well aware of Dankhouse, it's my favorite brewery. I don't make a trip to Newark without at least one visit. I love their collab with Pretentious, so I'll be sure to stop by Pretentious on the way up.

Perhaps you missed the part where I also stated it was outdoors, I stayed distant from the people I did not go with, and I stayed home for over a week after the protest. I did my best to keep myself and others safe during and afterward. If you're going to do something risky, take precautions during and after. This isn't difficult. I'm not going to bars or going on vacations and then going out into my community sans mask and acting like everything is normal.

If y'all think that makes me a hypocrite, that's fine. I participated in something important to me, and tried to do it as safely as possible. If getting a drink at a crowded bar is that important to someone, then sure, I guess they should go ahead and do it. None of that changes the fact that whining about a piece of fabric over your face is stupid.

No one is saying you shouldn’t have gone to the protest.

People are saying that doing so, then calling others that are doing, what you deem, risky behavior “MORONS AND IDIOTS” is completely hypocritical.

Not a single person is saying you were wrong or is blaming you for going to a protest. I said myself I would have gone to a protest if I knew 100% there was no chance for violence.

People are just calling out your hypocrisy afterwards.

Not surprised the dipshit crew (like that, icl, and jmog) have somehow turned this into an anti protestors convo and calling people hypocritical.

“Everyone should where (for jmog) masks in public”  is all that’s been preached on here today. Yet somehow we’re talking about BLM, antifa, fab going to a protest, and thinking that saying that phrase means you’re a morally superior hero.

The dipshit crew should actually work in politics, because that’s exactly how it goes: we’ve got nothing, so let’s change the conversation and turn it around on our opponents.

I just got an email from the Miami county health board and they said that the CDC states that wearing a mask DOES NOT reduce the risk of transmission and if you are exposed to a active person that regardless of a mask being on or not, you are quarintined for the same amount of time.

So theres that.
