So, convalescent plasma reduces mortality 35%. I believe Remdesiver is 35-50%. And then some steroids help, too.
We should be getting down to a flu-like mortality rate of @ 0.1%. That may not be that re-assuring when flu already kills 30-60k every year, but at least something we can get back to normal with. Hopefully they knock it out of the park on the vaccines.
That is good news for sure. Another tool in the toolbox.
Overall, in other good news, the hospitalizations are down to 40k, around the early July levels.

Cleveland has extended the ban on tailgating in any city lot and prohibiting any private gathering of 10 or more outside of anyone’s house through September.

Saw that the Nino Vitale dude is on board with that. Which begs the question, how fucking insane are the people in his part of the state for him to have an elected office? Every time I see a comment by him, he comes off as a complete idiot who might be legit crazy.
I only know of a few people who like him and they're all pretty stupid.

50k in DC to March on Washington, but can’t vote in person or go to a sporting event. After the media complained that Trump had 1,200 at his speech last night. Can’t make it up.

Whiny people gonna whine!
Lol 1,200 people bad, 50k people good. Not whining, just pointing out the dumbassery and hypocrisy. Open it all up and quit bitching about either. But don’t pretend the coverage is anywhere near the same.

What percentage of people who die of all natural causes also have other health issues? Similar, I'd guess.
People sure seem to like to latch onto factoids to "prove" their positions correct.

Again... you don’t understand.
6% is people without comorbidities.
Overweight? Comorbidity. Asthma? Comorbidity. High blood pressure? Comorbidity. These aren’t people who on are deaths doorstep. These are people who would otherwise live for a much longer time had they not caught covid.
And I’m not sure it’s great to cheer for 9k people who were completely healthy and still died from this.

Some aren't on death's doorstep, but some are. And just because someone questions the risk of COVID to our society as a whole does not automatically mean they are somehow happy that anyone died from it. That's a big problem with this thing. Even though you may not agree, many people believe that while there are risks from COVID, they do not outweigh the costs of restricting schools, businesses, lives. That doesn't mean those same people don't recognize how horrible it is for anyone to die from this. Horrible as it is, risks surround us everyday.

What does that have anything to do with refuting the point that it’s only 6% of deaths due to covid. People are sharing this 100 times over bc they don’t understand wtf the cdc is saying.

When this is all said and done, do you all think we will stop celebrating people who are morbidly obese?
