Given the fact that all total social programs combined cost the average tax payer a few dollars a year I don’t think it’s a huge issue

link?  We spend $5.8 billion a MONTH on just food stamps.  Doesnt sound like a few bucks.

Regardless, do you think a wall will stop the drugs moving into the country?  You made the point that 90% of the drugs come in over the border. So if the wall goes up, will that reduce the drugs coming in by 90% or something quite high like that?

Assuming Trump understands that basic supply and demand will hold true in the drug market with or without a wall, I believe then his reason for the wall is to keep dark skinned people out.  They are different, so they are evil and scary.  I have yet to see a compelling case as to why his motivation is anything other than this.

Confirmation bias, you refuse to entertain any other reason and just assume you are correct. Therefore, even with a logical reasoning behind a wall you will just blow it off as it doesn't fit your narrative.

LOL at you thinking illegals dont have a SSN.  My brother runs a large company in NC and he had 12 people with the same SSN.

Listing one for vocational reasons isn't exactly synonymous with public assistance, where a person's SSN is what SNAP benefits are actually tied to.

It's adorable that you think they're the same thing, though.

Just in social security for $100,000 salary.....social security is a "social program".  You are paying for other people to not work.  As for the rest of "social programs, Welfare and medicaid = over $700 billion:

yea just a few dollars as you said.  GTFOH.....we can spend $50 billion on a wall.  Funny how the left , who loves to spend others peoples money all of a sudden are choking on the D of fiscal responsibility.

In fairness to Spock, it IS possible for undocumented immigrants to still qualify for WIC in obviously particular situations, and those born in the US as children of undocumented immigrants qualify for Medicaid (though the parents cannot).

However, the amount of social program spending that goes to illegal immigrants is negligible compared to most of our other spending.

Everyone has confirmation bias - it’s part of the human condition.  I don’t refuse to entertain other reasons for a wall. I sad that I haven’t yet heard a compelling reason as to why it is happening.

You are somewhat naive...just because it is illegal for them to get a SS card or number, doesn't mean they don't do it/forge it.

7k out soon. This is Trump's war now. If Afghanistan falls, it is in him now.

The Syrian removal is more execution than anything. We are just leaving our allies high and dry there. The Kurds are fucked. Turkey is going to wipe them out now.

Also, it is a debate on whether ISIS is actually gone or not. I've read some well respected terrorism experts say this has vibes of the pullout in sections in Iraq that allowed ISIS to ultimately form some years ago.

I think the bigger deal is process and how Trump doesn't give a shit about allies or strategic thought.  That is most likely why Mattis decided to leave.

Your boy Bolton loves this post.

I read your links still looking for the part where they are getting food stamps or welfare. If anything it proves the point that illegals come here to work and contribute not get free welfare

no....someone is making a political point and talking about it in reference to someone being here illegally.  After you use that word.....you dont have a leg to stand on

His point was in comparison to the rest of the world.  You made a comparison to how the rest of the world treats "illegals."

However, functionally speaking, perhaps the problem lies not in the fact that people come over, but in how difficult and/or time-consuming the process is to become legal.

What if the process of becoming a legal, tax-paying citizen were streamlined?  Surely you wouldn't have a problem with that.  It would cut down on the number of "illegals," would it not?

You can certainly streamline the process but I'm not sure that would help the bigger picture. Europe is right now struggling with myriad issues after welcoming an influx of migrants and some refugees. Flooded job markets and housing is not the least of the problems. Granted, Europe does not have as much "open" land as the US does and that also compounds the conundrum.

They have more than allow for their space problems to be justified, though.  It's the fact that so many are insisting on staying so close to city centers.

As for the job market, it's not nearly as much of a problem if you consider that for every person added to the supply of workers, you're also adding to the demand for products and services.  With more labor comes more buyers.  Nuance aside, there are too many countries with a higher rate of immigrants than the US whose economies are doing quiet well as a result.

Now see, I've seen vids and reports saying the opposite lol! Tim Pool did some good work on this a year or two ago, along with other small indie journalists. It may be who/where/when, I don't know.
IMO both sides of the issue is worth considering and debating.

I saw one of those things that established a square footage necessity based on how densely people live, and it was particularly telling, especially when you started to compare the less-densely populated areas.

As I recall, if the world lived as densely as Manhattan (crowded, but still livable), you could essentially fit the world's population into New Zealand, which is, of course, established by just a math problem.

Now, obviously, most people probably don't want to live that densely, but if you space things out to something like people living as densely as they do in New Jersey, they could still fit into Russia, give or take.

Now, of course, this doesn't take into account the housing needs, but again, that establishes a demand that can be met by the increase in labor supply.

You are a big NATO guy.  So you know that we are in a mutual defense treaty with Turkey.
