Anonymous stories are not all created equal. Jeff Goldberg and Woodward are pretty damn credible.  

I think this all matters as it is just more shit and evidence that Trump is an asshole and is only in it for himself. I think the voters are tired of his actions and statements.

I am not sure the public needs any more convincing that Trump is an asshole. That was established well before 2016. I do know though  your last paragraph pretty much lines up with the media playbook for the last 4 years, and thus why they will throw shit at a wall (credible or not to see if it sticks). This is most likely why you will take the story without even any ounce of skepticism. You’re the media’s best type of consumer. At least Woodward has recordings and the quotes are somewhat fresh.  I wish my papers in college were held to the same standard as our journalists with phantom 2 year old anonymous sources providing gossip/hearsay.  I would have spent a fourth of the time writing those papers. I wish, like you  I could  believe that everything will go back to normal with the media, but I am not naive enough. History doesn’t end when Trump leaves the office. Nobody is going to forget that the media lost their credibility.

We are post Labor Day and Post Convention and the race is largely the same. Biden is still ahead by 7-9 points and about 1-3 points in the battleground states. Seems like most people's minds are set already and the debates may or may not move the needle much. If you look at 538 where they capture all the polls, Biden is up in most polls in all the battleground states, 

I highly doubt he wins them all, but that is still something. Biden is even up in AZ by 5-8 points, which is really something given how Trump campaigned in 2016. Trump will have to pull an even bigger upset than he did in 2016 if he does not close ground in all these battleground states. I do think the mail in voting aspect and how that may impact voter turnout is a huge factor in how this shakes down.

I was also playing around on 270 to win and even if Trump wins PA, OH, and FL, he can still lose the election if Biden takes MI, WI, the two Congressional districts and AZ.

Do I think all of the quotes in the Atlantic are real, no.  Do I think some are, more than likely as it fits the pattern of public statements the President has made over the years. 

On the media, I am just not as cynical as you are on this. I do read news articles with skepticism, but I do not dismiss the whole media as a result. There are good apples and bad ones, like most things in life. 

I do think voters are tired of Trump and his asshole nature. It seems like voters have grown tired of it and thought he would change and grow into the Presidency. Those voters are now breaking from Trump to Biden in those swing states like WI, PA, and AZ. That is why it is easy to dismiss each story on its own, but collectively, it is just evidence that Trump is still the same guy as he was in 2016.  Trump is his own worst enemy and it may cost him.

Yet, no one except the White House press people is denying the story. It is a lot of no comments. Jeff Goldberg does not just make up shit. The comments also make sense as they fall in line with comments Trump has made about McCain. The Woodward stuff is just the latest in a long line of bad quotes, so yeah it will go away, But will just be baked into all the other shit he says. 

The DHS stuff is just the continuation of the squashed intel report a few weeks ago and I wouldn't link them with all the other shit that is going on. 

The USPS controversy is still going on and Dejoy may have to resign for violating NC campaign law.. Gotta keep up man. 

Everybody is denying the story because it is complete bullshit.

But this bullshit is to be expected; there will be a hit job like this at least once a week until November 3rd --- we fully expect it; the left and their media allies are like clockwork - a well-choreographed hit piece, after hit piece.

Yep. Same old shit. Attack the source, deny deny deny , and then yell hoax or fake news. 

The only problem is, Trump has no credibility. He has no leadership ability because most do not trust him. He lies more than he tells the truth. Even his supporters can’t tell the difference and follow him like the retarded sheep that they are.

The rest of the pubes are as bad as the Muslims they claim they hate. They demonstrate this by not calling him out on his abhorrent behavior.

 Not saying that this is the exact situation in this board but I always laugh when people go back and forth on social media about whether or not someone said something and there is literally a recording. Seems to be happening more and more. 

THe media and their bias reporting to slant everything or run with unverified info is going to hurt them because they will get no "October surprise".

I still don't know what to make of that Atlantic story.  Trump has said a few awful things about people who served, but that was almost purely political (i.e. McCain).  To me, he seems to otherwise sort of idolize the military.

Yet the Atlantic story was confirmed by multiple outlets, including Fox.  Of course, it's the typical "unnamed sources" we've become all too familiar with in fake news.  At the same time, I'm not sure how current Admin officials and Trump supporters refuting it are any more credible.  And John Bolton seems to say whatever John Bolton thinks will help John Bolton.

A lot of fake news stories about Trump are believable because, well, almost anything about Trump is believable.  But this is one thing I really can't picture him saying.  At best (worst?) it was a bad joke in poor taste, which I could see.

That about sums up all the fake news stories about Trump the past 3.5 years - Trump haters swallow it hook, line and sinker because it's things haters think Trump would say or do.  I just saw another article today about Russia collusion saying, LOL, "it's still happening".

And, again, I've never understood why so much is made-up about Trump when there's more than enough verifiable shit he's said and done to be outraged over.

The Trump "parade" around 275 was insane.  I was only on 275 for 2 miles and it was after the parade was over. I probably saw 100 cars with Trump flags.
