2013 Wayne County Athletic League Football

There is nothing wrong with having high expectations from both the kids and the coaches. Those high expectations over the years is why Waynedale football has been very successful. I am very impressed with the turnaround the Bears have made after the first ever 0 win season last year. But that being said I haven't seen many games over the last several season where the talent level was equal, and we came out on the winning side.

I understand a fan/parents frustration when things don't go good for their team.

They know the team is capable of doing well, but a bad (judgement) call by a referee, or maybe an improper choice of play calling keeps the team from realizing their potential in a given situation.

It's part of the game & a good team puts themselves in a position to win where one bad call won't decide the outcome of the game.

I do support every fans right to cheer on "their" team, as loud and passionate as they wish.

(Ever see a major pro or college game lately with the message boards urging the fans louder ? Only every game.)

If it's too loud in the stands for some people, they don't have to stay there.

Now on to Northwestern tonite to rough up the huskies.

    Go Bears !
AGAIN, you are missing the point. I am not, AT ALL, saying that fans shouldn't cheer on their team. I have NEVER seen a message board urging their fans to say..."That's on YOU coach!" or "What the $^#* kind of play calling is that?"

Here are some definitions of the word CHEER:
    1) shout for joy or in praise or encouragement
    2) give comfort or support to.
    3) a shout of encouragement, praise, or joy
    4) cheerfulness, optimism, or confidence

The people in the stands weren't uncomfortable because of the NOISE LEVEL, it was because of the WORDS that were being used. Also, the players on the sideline that heard the words being said wouldn't have noticed them if those certain people were actually CHEERING.

You know you talked about the refs making a bad call or the coach calling the wrong play...what about if the players don't do THEIR JOB? What if they block the wrong person or run the wrong route or jump off-sides? You know those things do happen as well...however, you would never mention that because according to you it is ALWAYS the coach's fault.

Finally, you say that a "good team puts themselves in a position to win"...I assume when you say "team" you are including the coaching staff as well, right? Although I highly doubt you would EVER give our coach's any credit.

    Holy PMS Batman !

You must be either directly related to or even possibly may be my ex-wife.

She (and/or you) was the only one I know that could take anything I said & pull words out to make it out to be 180 degrees from what I said or meant.

Did I say it was the coaches fault ?

(Though I did say it was the teams issue & indirectly you instantly took it as a slam on the coach).

Coach "Z" is actually making progress this year & the Bears are showing great improvements.

Disapline problems aren't an issue this year, was it a dramatic turnaround in coaching, all the replacement parents that were brought in, or the new random drug testing policy for student atheletes ?

Did you miss my line about not condoning profanity ?

(Plus I never said anything about negative cheering being encouraged, just cheering & being loud for the team.)

Yes the kids make mistakes: they are kids after all.

I actually like some of our coaches & give them credit for doing a great job.

But like most Americans I'm allowed my choices to form my own opinions/ likes / dislikes as are you.

And you know what they say about opinions: they're like .........s every one has one.

Including this Forum which seems to bring them out of the wood work.

    GO BEARS !

Random drug test? They do that now at Waynedale? wow!

It's a requirement for student athletes, as well as for any student that drives to school there.

They can't random test the entire student body by current law, but any elective event being athletics or driving that occurs on school property is subject to the testing & those students involved must sign a waiver allowing the test to be allowed to play and or drive.

I really think it's a good thing. The Bears (and other teams in the league) have had substance abuse issues in the past & it's good to get ahead of any potential problems that could have lifelong implications.

    LOL...No mention of a coach, a player, the band...etc.

The picture is self explanatory....SPORTS FANS..."It takes ALL types".

You are so delusional that your own jibberish turns everything into a hatefest! Good grief Charlie Brown!

You argue with EVERYONE that doesn't share your views. It started with Bear fans and has rolled into Smithville, Rittman and Orrville posters as well! I'm beginning to think that YOU Think YOU are the "Messiah".

I suppose it's a good thing...don't know if we could of ever put a team on the field when we were in school if they did this! And most of us turned out just fine! lol!

Who the heck are the 2 idiots doing the locallivesports Hillsdale/Rittman game.....wow

Coach is making progress for you, huh? Well I am so glad that he has done that for you. Again, I will ask...what is your coaching background....and AGAIN I will say that Little League doesn't count.

I will help you out here...it wasn't a dramatic turnaround in coaching. He is still the same coach with the same philosophy. He just has a group of kids that have started to buy in and that's half the battle. It is so obvious that you don't like Coach Z and that is ok. Believe me, he can still sleep at night knowing that he has yet to get your approval.

Out of the wood work, huh? Yes, you are correct!!!

LOL...Exactly! They are sports fans, as the picture demonstrates! I have no idea why you tried to put a "coach dig" spin on it...(well, I do have an idea.) As far as support...My goodness! The crowd was ELECTRIC tonight. All 8-10 people that cheered....sometimes. I sat silently, as I didn't want scolded by OL' Dad! BTW...It was good seeing you tonight, as I was "keeping an eye on the fence" (so to speak), We made eye contact and you melted!

Buckz#1? I hope the guy you attacked in post #669? lived up to your expectations tonight. He didnt seem to be "standing and watching", as you so elegantly stated. I'm happy you are dissatisfied with fans but have the "man parts" to attack a "kid" by name on an open forum.

And WCALFAN... Im happy that you defend the coach, but dont have the "man parts" to defend a player! (mentioned above post #669)

I also hope you "sleep well tonight". You are quite the warrior!

AGAIN, you have no clue who I am and I love it. If we did make the so called eye contact, where was I at on Friday night?

You keep mentioning post #669, like it is some type of "tell-all" post. It is actually a good post because it tells the truth. Now, I don't agree with naming the player but have you actually watched our games? That post is pretty much spot on. Sometimes the truth hurts but we need to hear it....

I have and will continually to say on here that the coaches do the majority, but NOT ALL, of their coaching during the week preparing the players for game nights. Once the lights come on and the game starts, the players must perform. I know that adjustments need to be made and our coaches do that. But it will ALWAYS come down to the players executing. This really isn't rocket science but again...the truth shall set you free.

I hate to bring it back up but look back at the Chippewa game. We jumped off-sides THREE times on 4th down. Don't you think after the first time the coaches (and for that matter the ENTIRE sidelines) made sure to remind the players not to do it again???? Guess who jumped off-sides the third time?!?!?!?!?!? A senior captain!!! Is that the coaches fault? Come on you should know better than this...no matter how anyone tries to spin it...it will ALWAYS boil down to PLAYER EXECUTION. No matter what sport you are talking about....it will ALWAYS come down to that!!!!!!!

Hunter12.... Listen, it is so obvious your feelings towards Coach Z but that is ok because he doesn't need your approval but I leave you with this....just think how much more successful your son COULD HAVE BEEN (because time has almost run out) over the years if you would have just acted more positive towards his coaches...........................................:confused::confused:
