rrfanI have not seen Rittman play at all this year, but is the coach the problem? I know the son on the team thing is a bad situation but historically except for a year or two Rittman is usually fight to stay out of the basement. Right?
I may be wrong... -
Havin Fun
You are right rrfan. Other than the one year (2010?) they had Bauman and a strong senior class, Rittman has been a cellar dweller. Not sure why though as they have some nice athletes?rrfan;1516537 wrote:I have not seen Rittman play at all this year, but is the coach the problem? O-TrapI just want to take this moment to say that when the Rittman announcer says "Indians," it sounds like he's saying "idiots."

BRF^^^I heard that that guy got offered a D-1 announcer's job.

This was not entertaining, but I'll take the win. -

They might not be real good....but they are far from awful....you could find 5 year stretches in the late 70's and early 80's where Hillsdale got outscored 2500 to 12. That was awful! LoL!dontcare;1516623 wrote:Yup -
Buckz#1Anyone that listened to or watched the Waynedale-Chippewa game just witnessed the worst officiating ever in a high school football game!

O-TrapWhat was the Chippewa, Norwayne scores?
Any other scores around the league? -
dontcareChipps 28-24 over Waynedale
Norwayne 54-14 over Dalton -
Havin FunThree penalties of fourth down punts to give the Chipps first downs and keep drives alive. That decided the game.

I agree with Old Rider. Smithville and Dalton will be the teams to beat in 2 years. Dalton has a strong freshmen and 8th grade class coming up which i believe the current freshmen won the county last year in 8th grade. Smithville has a great freshmen and sophomore class currently.I dont think Smithville has lost a freshmen game in the past 2 years. Not exactly sure what waynedale has in the future.Havin Fun;1516524 wrote:Man I just don't see it. Waynedale I can see due to a strong group of sophomores and solid jr high teams. Smithville is young as well, jr high program is weak isn't it? I think Dalton struggles with numbers for several years to come. Chippewa is the one I think will be a contender for the next 5 years for sure. Solid from 10'th grade down. -
Havin FunWaynedales sophomore class is all starting varsity, many as freshman. Sounds like these three may well be contending? You never know. I would sure add Chippewa to that list. They have number, size and a sophomore QB who has played well.

Tough loss for the Bears but they will rebound. I sat in the stands last night (last time I ever do that) and was EMBARRASSED by the behavior of a couple of them. Unfortunately, it ruined the atmosphere for a lot of our fans. I really wasn't surprised at who one of them was because he has done the same thing when he spews his vomit on this forum. The other arm-chair quarterback....well, let's just say....it was a family affair.Havin Fun;1516652 wrote:Three penalties of fourth down punts to give the Chipps first downs and keep drives alive. And the downward spiral begins....... -
Havin FunI have to admit when the Bears had second and 2 inside the Chipp 30 with 3 minutes to go, the run seemed like the only way to go. Chippewwa did put 8 guys in the box and I am sure the coach thought he could move down inside the 10 with a quick pass. It didn't work but so what? Neither did a lot of other plays all night. The coach called the great play fake on the punt right?? The kids still did not not get the first down on third and fourth down running the ball.
The offsides calls were the real problem and that was all on the players. Teams shift all the time and you cannot cross the line of scrimmage like we did on 3 fourth downs.
As for obnoxious fans, the only people who can hear them are the ones sitting near them. No one on the field can. Every team/community has them.
This team is filled with great kids who are working hard each day. We should be proud of the great turnaround from last season. If someone had said the Bears would finish 5-5, 6-4 or 7-3 everyone I know would have said that would be great but probably not possible.

Not so sure a freshman teams results mean anything? If a freshman has talent, would they not be playing on the varisty or jv team? Waynedale started 3 or 4 freshman on varsity last year. Put them down on a freshman team and they would change any outcome. Same with Breitenstine who was the Chipps starting QB as a freshman.Buckeyefan34;1516673 wrote:I agree with Old Rider. You are dead wrong on this one. They were so loud that players and coaches could hear them on the field. I know what you are going to say now...they shouldn't be listening to them. The coaches can tune them out but the players???? That's a different story. We are talking about teenagers here. There minds are everywhere. I bet if you ask a few of them, they will tell you what they heard. In fact, one of the know-it-alls has a son on the team...I wonder how he feels this morning after hearing the things that were being said? PLUS, let's just say that the fans are the only ones who can hear them. Does that make it ok? How about the fact that some of those fans are close family members of our coaching staff. That's ok? OR that some of those fans are young children that are hearing the foul language that these guys used. That's ok? Seriously???
I have said this on here many times...the only way we get his thing completely turned around is when we get buy in from players AND parents. Even if the parents don't directly say anything to their sons...kids are smart enough to know what is going on.
It just really is a shame because there could be great things on the horizon....
Also...there was an "0-21" siting last night....man I have missed that guy!!! "Well" all I need now is to see the "general" and my weekend will be complete. -
Buckz#1As much as I hate to say this, I agree with wcalfan. Those 2 fans were an embarrassment! Everyone in the stadium could hear them! If that was me, my wife would of drug me out by my man parts! And yes the boys could hear them because it was the 1st thing my daughters boyfriend said when they got to the house.
As for the game, if Antjuan wants to stand and watch the game he should really do it from the sidelines and not the field! -
Havin FunI am not condoning these obnoxious fans at all! I am just saying their actions demonstrate what fools they are and like it or not, every community has them and most people know they complain even when you win. The key is never to join in with them. Let them be miserable.
And there were plenty of mistakes on the field. There always are with kids. -
O-TrapI don't remember ever hearing anything from fans, whether supportive or antagonistic.
If a player's head is in the game, he shouldn't be affected.
Still doesn't mean fans shouldn't be ashamed of themselves if they act as it sounds.
But also, we've all lost our cool before, so perhaps some understanding is in order as well. -

This has now happened THREE times this year with the one person in particular which means it isn't a one time thing...you want to guess what three games it was??? You guessed it...the three we lost. When we are winning, we don't hear a thing from him. Soooo...the "understanding" thing no longer applies here.O-Trap;1516755 wrote:I don't remember ever hearing anything from fans, whether supportive or antagonistic.

It is just a sad situation. -

Slick RickJust be happy you are not in Rittman's shoes. I hear it has gotten ugly there. Also i hear that Mr Dennis will be stepping down Tuesday as head coach after he faces the booster club and then the school board. I don't know the whole situation but i hear its about money among other things. But i also hear that he is going to be the Track coach. Hopefully he doesn't ruin that program like he did the football one.
