Not positive but could be confirmed ...........- [h=1]Searched by name, by title and every other thing I could think of. No Dennis listed as Athlete of the Year in the Post.

BobcatHe wasnt even in the the voting for The Daily Record Male Athlete of the Year. Jon Zimmerly won that. No mention of Dennis anywhere
Since we're on the subject of D1's Scouting Ohio profile, his 40 time has been discussed a lot at the early Norwayne games this year. The word I've heard at least 3 times from 3 different people is that one of our former players fathers was on the field at a Bowling Green combine where Dennis reported that he ran a 4.49 - 40 time. This guy supposedly saw the time sheets because he was with a friend of his that is a high school coach. He told some of his buddies that Dennis ran a 4.94 at that camp....not 4.49. Dennis' dad has quoted that 4.49 several times to the newspaper. I don't know this guy personally and I've never heard him say it but I wouldn't doubt it at all. It sounds like everything these people report is not the truth -

Old RiderDad using his title as "head coach" to get his sons name out there is nothing new to football across the country as we all know. However, it seems to me he is just setting his son up for failure on the football field. He will be timed in the 40 at Akron, he will be running routes against kids that are legit D1-2 talent, he will be getting hit by D1 DB's, and I would certainly hope someone on Bowdens staff will recognize that he can't play at that level and rescind the scholarship so that Dennis can move on to a Malone, Bluffton, or Muskingum where he belongs! Wake up Dad and quit living your past thru your son today!

WCALfootballfanAgreed, making more sense as you look into it. You think the recruiter would do more work upfront.

Havin FunI recall Pitman and O-Trap saying I was dead wrong about CVCA being an average team and that Norwayne's loss to them didn't mean anything? Well Norwayne has problems and CVCA is average at 3-3. The signs were there that Norwayne was not going to be the team of the past couple years.
I figured Chippewa would win a few games but they are looking fantastic.
Big game with Smithville vs Rittman. I would think if Smithville just runs the ball, Rittman will not be able to stop them. I say we end up with two 1-9 teams in the league this year. -
pdracerRittman coaches can't seem to make any adjustments. Yes they have lost a number of starters to injuries but when your unable to make any adjustments at half, or even from watching films, your going to have issues. Hope it goes well for the indians but...
If they lose this one, the parents will want Dennis' head on a platter! -
pdracerCan anyone tell me the last time that Smithville went 0-10?

Never. (I dont think) Six 1 win seasons prior to 1980, WCAL 0-5-2(1977), 0-7 (1967).....I dont think ever 0-10.pdracer;1515826 wrote:Can anyone tell me the last time that Smithville went 0-10? -
Dr. KnOiTaLL
According to a team website: http://smithvillefootball.tripod.com/id15.html it appears that there has never been a 0-win season dating back to the 50's.pdracer;1515826 wrote:Can anyone tell me the last time that Smithville went 0-10? -
BobcatThere probably won't be one this season either. Have you guys seen Rittman play?

That is so true Racer. i thought as a coach it is your job to make adjustments. His son is also awful but he will prolly get the job next. Lets hope not because one Dennis is enough. His head has been on the platter all season. Lets see if he steps down. There is no doubt Smithville and Mr Bauman will run all over Rittman.
Should the Rittmanites start a chant of fire Dennis at the game? According to him the third year is when he turns everything around. -

Actually the cupboard is bare in Norwayne's 8th grade. As I type Dalton is beating them 24-0 at the half.rrfan;1514211 wrote:Did you or did you not have your 7th and 8th grade teams go undefeated last year? Point is that there is a lot of talent there. -
Old RiderGive it 2-3 more years and we will see Smithville, Dalton, and Waynedale right back on top!

O-Trap
I still submit that CVCA is better than 3-3. Heck, they just lost a very close one to 6-0 Indian Valley. I admit, they are not playing as well as they were supposed to, but they're still better than your "average" team.Havin Fun;1515763 wrote:I recall Pitman and O-Trap saying I was dead wrong about CVCA being an average team and that Norwayne's loss to them didn't mean anything? Yeah, as Dr. K said, I think the closest they've gotten was 1-9, which they did three times: 1967, 1969, and 1978 (Schrock's second year as head coach).pdracer;1515826 wrote:Can anyone tell me the last time that Smithville went 0-10? -

Last years Bears record 0-10 was the 1st winless season in school history. Pleased with the turn around and back to winning.99bobcatdb;1515957 wrote:Wow that is pretty impressive.

I agree!! I was at this game watching my bobcats and the second half waynedale looked VERY good1_beast;1516202 wrote:Last years Bears record 0-10 was the 1st winless season in school history. Pleased with the turn around and back to winning.
I told my buddy who I was watching the game with just wait waynedale will be battling for the wcal crown next session -

Hard to say. I know Dalton has a solid freshman class, although not real bug numbers. I think the 8th grade in undefeated to this point, but the 7th grade has only one or two wins(I think over smithville). I don't believe the smithies have much in the middle school grades. Waynedale I am not sure on.Old Rider;1516130 wrote:Give it 2-3 more years and we will see Smithville, Dalton, and Waynedale right back on top! -

Man I just don't see it. Waynedale I can see due to a strong group of sophomores and solid jr high teams. Smithville is young as well, jr high program is weak isn't it? I think Dalton struggles with numbers for several years to come. Chippewa is the one I think will be a contender for the next 5 years for sure. Solid from 10'th grade down.Old Rider;1516130 wrote:Give it 2-3 more years and we will see Smithville, Dalton, and Waynedale right back on top! -
Havin Fun"Battle for the Basement this year?"
No doubt. Rittman would have been a sure 0-10 team if they had not gotten a jr. high level team on the schedule in GCC. They will finish 0-7 in the league for sure unless Smithville tries to get fancy and abandon the running game.
