You did read KnOiTaLL's post right? 95% of the time it boils down to the kids executing and when they don't...do YOU encourage your son to do better or do you continually point the fingers at the coach? I think we all know the answer to that question....
Let it go my friend.
Going to the Volleyball game Tuesday ?
Go Bears ! -

His X's and O's have not changed much in those 7 or 8 years and that's what could use some help. In game management hasn't gotten better. Doesn't mean it can't get better. Might just be a slow learner.wcalfan;1521313 wrote:Hunter...for the final time...your arrogance comes out the more you post. There's hope for him, huh? Havin FunThe previous three or four pages are not worth the space or time to read let alone reply. Support the kids. Support the coaches. Support the school. Enjoy the games and shut up.
The girls play for a district volleyball final slot Tomorrow. The boys soccer plays for a district final slot tomorrow as well. Fridays football game with Dalton will be a great game. The boys and girls basketball teams will be title contenders and the wrestling team will probably win the WCAL again.
It is a great time to be a Bear Fan if you can put aside the whining and complaining -

Red RumHow bout them Huskies!!!
Will the 100+ yards of penalties they seem to accrue most games ever catch up with them?
When will Dalton mature?
The Dawgs have been young long enough. They seem to have more talent than victories.
Chippewa...
The next dynasty?...probably too soon for that question, but it's nice to see the Chipps competitive
Curse of the Godfather?
Smithville has had nothing but disappointment & drama since Schrock was sent packing. Any light at the end of the emerald tunnel?
Norwayne???
What happened to the dominance? What happened to the defense? What happened to the posters? -
BobcatI agree with the Waynedale thing. I understand that the fans are emtional about the team and thats great but Wow!
As far as Norwayne goes, they're right about where many thought they would be. The reality of it is that they lost a ton of very high end talent. I think the Bobcat coach may have made some comments that made people believe otherwise. With the injuries they've had there was no way they were going to be able to stop other team's offenses. The defense was suspect to begin with. We're all hoping they can turn it up and find a way to win the last 2 games -

This has nothing to do about the win lose. Has to do with get over it and move on. Support the kids and your team and move on. Trust me I know all about the waynedale beat downs. I was on those teams in the 90's. The Norwayne kids played hard and took there beatings. Fans will be fans it's just time for waynedale to stop crying and go support your team and move onjaco;1521301 wrote:Funny, I remember much "whining and crying" by Norwayne football players back in the day during the annual beat down by Waynedale. Someone refresh my memory what the all time head-to-head record is? -

Shouldn't lead to hurt feelz. People should buck up and have tougher skin than a lily.wcalfan;1519687 wrote:These are not fans we need more of...because then that leads to MANY hurt feelings and even people having to draft their own Manifesto. We need more fans who are passionate. Period. -

O-Trap"[...] when the administration at Rittman High learned about the content, the principal concluded that Andre 'wrote a mean and disrespectful poem about another student and our athletic director/head coach'."
Gee, I wonder who the other student was? -
iced earthCan not imagine this is going to turn out well for the Rittman city schools. No way this kid should be suspended. Rittman should probably back track in a hurry. If the coach wants to sit him now...that's the coaches decision. But a public school suspending a kid for this...seems like a big risk for the school to take. Did you see that lawyer foaming at the mouth?

FlashThis is called bullying. Bullying a fellow student is not taken lightly these days. ODE is emphasizing this point to school districts and they have educational programs for students and administrators to curb this type of activity. Juvenile mistake with a light penalty and lesson learned. That's the lesson from this.

It's as much a RESPONSE to bullying as it is bullying itself.Flash;1522179 wrote:This is called bullying. Bullying a fellow student is not taken lightly these days. Hurt feelz. -
FlashThis suspension was not from the coach is my understanding. It was from administration. The coach is the AD. Like the coach- don't like the coach. I'm not defending him. He bullied a fellow student. All administrators, teachers and students are warned about this and have in school programs to deter this type of behavior. The student is allowed to quit any sport at anytime if he wants to. If they don't like whats going on they can complain to the administration and it will be looked into. I may not like what's going on in a program but this is not the way to approach it.

Flash1 beast, Waynedale played good in volleyball tonight just couldn't quite get over the hump.

If expressing emotion regarding favoritism through poetry (even if it hurts someone's feelings) is bullying, then Pee Wee Herman is an NFL lineman.Flash;1522195 wrote:This suspension was not from the coach is my understanding. Were the Founders' statements about England bullying from them as well? -
Hunter86They're lucky the entire class didn't all hand in similar poems.
Bet the stuff really hits the fan when the lawsuit gets filed.
Political correctness is ruining our country. -

Thanks Flash! A few calls, hits et al the other way and Bears win that. Triway has a fine team. Coach Finn is annoying though. Thanks fotr the support from the Red Riders. lol I just wish you guys would've scooted over to let our fans sit at the end of the Dalton/Orrville game! lol Triway earned that game and Skeens is the real deal. Good Luck when you face them.Flash;1522196 wrote:1 beast, Waynedale played good in volleyball tonight just couldn't quite get over the hump. -
FlashYea , I'm one that didn't scoot over, but was saving a spot for the coach to scout. Waynedale may have had the better team. Skeens as an individual is outstanding though. Got to limit her serving opportunities and attack others on the team.
-
FlashCan't disagree about political correctness. But as an administrator and whats occurred at Rittman in the past you can't let this happen. I'm not disagreeing about the coach and how he's promoting his son, I'm just saying on principle you have to respond this way. The school may still lose this in court, but if the son decided to commit suicide over this stupid act, what would be said then about how this was handled. The administration would be blamed for not responding. Its a no win situation. Blamed for over reacting or blamed for not doing anything. I have no dog in this fight. Just a school board member that knows what its like to be in a pickle that wasn't your fault.

RedRider1Aren't poems supposed to rhyme. Failed the assignment too.
What a mess...lawsuit won't be fun. Supt of 3 districts means 3x the headaches.
Will teachers be given guidance on future assignments of an expressive nature?. If emotion is asked to be expressed and that expression could be called bullying (which I think it terribly overused, and masks true bullying), then the school needs to be proactive about not giving potential "bullying" or this kind of speech a place to fester.
