The ones that are not, are the ones the WE NEED to get into the weightroom and summer position camp workouts so that they know what their doing in week one rather than still learning in week 5!

I know I am beating a dead horse in saying this, but kids are different. Not many are willing to put in that extra work it takes to go from average to good and from good to great! Coach D gives these kids all the opportunities in the world, but it is ultimately up to the kids to decide whether they want to be real good or just settle for mediocre.

Look at the facilities we have here in Orrville...how does that not motivate a kid??? Blows my mind! Talk to any former player and ask them if they would have loved to have had the facilities and resources these kids have at their fingertips now...
Fair enough! I have to take your word for it as you are closer to the program then I am. Hopefully you can understand that all I judge this program on is the product I see out on the field come Friday night. Wins and losses is not the end result for me however when I start to see kids walking on and off the field and continuing to do so with nothing said to them thats what I see. You see what you see and I see what I see and we may differ with opinions but it doesnt make me or Series or Troll bad people it is just our opinions and just because they dont match everyone else's we are assumed idiots. Doesnt bother me however I go about my business

I too think harbor will be gone before too awful long . I do not think they are better this year than last year however . I just can't see them staying at the top for very long unless they have a huge amount of talent coming up .

I don't think we differ too much in our own opinions! I agree with much of what you say and I see all those little things as well and it has been very frustrating to watch. As a matter of fact I have agreed with many things that you, Troll, and Series have said...I just try not to put it in writing because I have a connection to the program!

All that aside...Lets Go Riders! This town is still behind you 100%
  • RedRider1
As long as the frustration comes from wanting this program to be the best...for the kids' sake...that I have no problem with...I see plenty of that here..and the coach said himself he's fine with that. He's a big boy and probably knew long ago that there'd always be detractors no matter what.

RRN I know you well enough to know that your frustration is rooted there. I think we need to strive to be respectful when expressing our frustrations, but at least it's passionate.

Changes don't happen overnight...new offenses can't be installed in a week...personnel changes just don't magically happen. I think the changes that have been made after week 6 have showed themselves on defense and at the end of last weeks game we saw a spark on offense. Hope to see that roll over into tonight.

    What a tough loss.

I think I was most upset about the INT in the first quarter when we were up 7-0 and, IMO, should have just kept the ball on the ground. CF got their first score after that. What a year.

Well, now we move on to week 10 and BEAT WOOSTER!
  • RedRider1
Tough to watch the seniors make that final walk down the field. Saw a kid with lots of tears not wanting to walk off the field...could only hug his dad...who was also a Red Rider.

That's RTR...keep that in mind before the inevitable bashing begins. Kids are busting their butts...and not giving up.

5 turnovers & 100 yards in penalties killed us. We hurt ourself on offense & defense with those.

you mean you were not upset about the what four or five unsportsmanlike penalties we had tonight. the second one in a row directly led to a clearfork touchdown.

This football team and coaches should be ashamed of the way they played tonight. I have never seen so many personal fouls, unsportsmanlike penalties in the 40+ years I've followed this team. I've been and always will be an Red Rider fan but tonight was to much to bear. All those faithful Riders fans there tonight setting in the cold rain and wind for this team and they play like that. I hope the players all look in the mirror tonight and say I wish I'd played better for my town. Sorry very frustrated with the lack of any real progress this season.

What I was describing was the first thing that I believe changed the momentum of the game.

Here's one for you then: I am unhappy about ALL the penalties.

Instead of trying to lay into me, why don't you just say that what upset YOU the most were the unsportsmanlike penalties?
  • Troll King
There's no problem with the coaching on this team. when you have as many unsportsmanlike penalties as Orrville has that is a direct reflection of the coach . It's called discipline and there is none on this team , and guess whose responsibility that is ? Yeah the coach . I did predict Orrville would lose but I did not think that they would help the cause with stupid penalties . Once again they should have kept the ball on the ground . I know , I know, I'm just seeing things .What I seen tonight did not really happen .

Glad i missed this. Losing is one thing but this is unacceptable! When will penalties like these ever improve??? I am sure there is a good answer for all 5!
  • Red Rider Nation
Troll I have to tell you i went to the Norwayne game tonight and although we agree most of the time I have to disagree that this team is not as good as last year. Well coached, no helmets off the entire game, execute on a good gameplan and hardly any penalties. Nice for a change!!!

Careful here. These are strong opinions and you will get shunned by the Orrville faithful!

This has been an ongoing issue since Devault took over. There is no excuse for them and unfortunately as long as he is coach they will continue. Just an absolute embarrassment last night. They hit a new low last night , I'm sorry but this coach has to go . Now that there is no more D1 talent and none on the way this is what we have to look forward too.
