Lets not get started again on how bad it was in a past life in Basketball...

    Good luck tonight Riders.
Where were you Friday night?! I certainly didn't hear you cheering for your team! Were you among the many that left after the 3rd quarter? Was that YOU shaking your head in disbelief!

The "past basketball life"? Let's wait and see how the present football life turns out!

Well I can see the great coaching staff that we have still hasn't taught these kids how to Tackle. We need a new offensive coach the current one should concentrate on basketball. Second and one and we throw forty yards down field. Third and one and we throw forty yards down field. All we needed was ONE lousy yard. Also our offensive line coach whoever he may be needs replaced. The line has been horrible the last five or so years. The left tackle is lost out there. Teach him how to pick up the end who is always killing our qb.
  • Troll King
For the people complaining about the center snapping bad again, have you thought that maybe just maybe he is tired because we run every single play out of the shotgun. Why in the Hell don't we bring our qb up under center. Defenses love this simple zone blocking. I guess the line coach can't teach blocking schemes. Again allot of this teams problems could be corrected by better coaching.

More than likely, No. 24 would have gotten that yard! Does he not trust him because he's a sophomore?

Trust had nothing to do with it, coach is just lost in his own little world. Also you are correct 24 would have got it.

Hats off to #24. He is the only kid that comes to play week after week. That kid should get more touches. Those words to Davault mean throw the ball more!
  • Series62
I think the reasoning is that because he's not an upperclassman, he has not "earned" the right to be leader on the field. And therefore, you can't be utilized despite how effective you might be. It was witnessed in four of the five games I've attended. It doesn't mean that the Riders would have won mind you, but it was better than what the coach was attempting to "philosophize".

You do know that it may well be silent the next four to five days as the "supporters" of the Red Riders will disappear like they did last week.

So, Troll King, Red Rider Nation, this is for you!

"Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
    Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter,
You piper, you prisoner, and shine!

    "Shiiine Onnn Youuu, Crazy Diamond!

    LOL!!!

Definitely improvements need made both with player's execution AND coaching....I think it is time to start building for the future and let these young guys get more opportunities. Looking down at the field and the players I was amazed how much we are outsized....this team is small in numbers and in physical size. I think we have finally met our match with the schedule we play and I really think it's time to look at a different conference.

You can't win them all, and I think this is a great opportunity to teach these kids about life and how to overcome challenges. We will see how these kids respond the second half of the season...will they fight back and not quit or will they give up and turn the pads in. These coaches know what RTR is about and will keep these kids working and fighting until the very last game.

Dude, pull up with the "teaching about life" stuff, it's high school football and they aren't doing that much teaching! It isn't life threatening or life changing, its a football game.

Most of the young men on the team won't see much playing time on the high school team let alone beyond high school and I'm sure most of their parents will prepare them for life and teach them to overcome challenges.

Coaches fault all the way I am sure you morons are correct. I see talent all over the field making tackles , catching the ball, blocking the opponents , making foolish penalties just as the coaches are instructing them and have been for the last 30 to 40 years. No chance that the talent level has dropped off, it's all the coaches fault, as the 3 wise guys have seen and spoken it must be so just as the wise ones in the past have known what lousy coaches we have always had. They claim to be fans yet they support only their own superior wisdom and know that the winning has always been because the talented players have over come the inferior coaches for over 30 years and made themselves into playoff teams only to be held back from winning championships every year but one. How can us true fans not have seen this, oh yes that's because we lack the wisdom of the 3 wise guys, shame , shame.

Can't win them all ? This team won't win at all until they install an offense that works. One that half the state doesn't already know. As far as the size goes, if these kids would all hit the weights instead of five or six individuals maybe they wouldn't look so small compared to other teams. There is a reason other teams look like men out there, it's called dedication in the weight room. Orrville never has size maybe it's just small people having small kids. Hit the weights boys ! Instead of buttons on the xbox.

overcoming life's challenges in the mean streets of Orrville. Your correct S62 it's only high school football. Some of these people sound so dramatic. They just won't admit that we have a staff that is not that good at teaching FOOTBALL !

Just asking a question, is the coaching staff different from 3-4 years ago?
  • Troll King
It doesn't matter what type of talent level we have. It matters what the coaches do with the talent they have, and that isn't much. Good coach's can win with mediocre talent, is obvious this staff can't.

you mean when we had all those division one kids and still couldn't win a state title. No it's the same one unfortunately.

I've never said that the poor play by the players is the coaches fault. I do agree that the play calling could be very much improved as well as the player utilization in some of those plays.

And when you really think about it, you and your extra supportive friends have blamed the coaches more so than us "three wise men", as you continually remind us how much the coach will have the team ready, how the team really respects him, how dedicated they are to him and the team, how he's teaching "life lessons", and on and on and on! That of course is when they are winning!

Now the team is losing! Now YOU, can bash the "kids"! Now YOU, can throw the "kids" under the bus! Is not this a reflection of leadership? Perhaps this is "how ready" the coach has this team!

How can you "true" fans not have seen this, oh yes that's because your head may be too far.....shame, shame, shame!
