    We used to do that.

A couple things to keep in mind. There is no talent to the level of a Turner or Brenner on this team. Please stop with the we are not getting our playmakers the ball. We don't have playmakers. We are thin with football IQ an talent and that is a bad combination. Keep working and get better. Steal a few games and find a way to beat wooster.

And historically, our "dips" are much shorter than schools around us.

Says a lot that we've only had 6 losing seasons since 1960. That's 50+ years of football. Or an average of 1 losing season roughly every 9 years. Ask every other team in the county if they'd take 1-2 losing seasons per decade and see what they'd say.

And this year is far from a losing season, lot of football left to be played.

    Exactly!

Also, we all knew this season was going to be interesting because we lost so much to graduation....we are very blessed to be able to have a winning program that I know all of us are proud of.

Still sucks to lose! Gonna make my wife stay home this weekend and bring that cowbell down along the sideline!!! Somethings gotta change.
  • rrfan
    That is a start 5knots...

Good to see some of you making some sense now. Earlier when I was reading the posts, I couldn't believe my eyes. Saying things like we can't compete in the OCC, and can't even compete in the WCAL. Man, I know this year has been a little rough so far, but come on man, you guys are Orrville. There are teams in our conference and all over the state that realize what you guys do and accomplish on a regular basis. We may not say it all the time or even hardly ever (lol) but I know most of the fans at West Holmes totally respect Orrville and its tradition. I would take one losing season every 9 years in a heartbeat. You know some of the things we have suffered through. So right the ship, and go kick some tail like you always do. Heck, even when Orville isn't great you are always dangerous.

Thought you guys needed an outsiders perspective. Now, I am done and shall never again say positive things about Orrville.

You made my day Greatwhite!!! It really is good to hear an honest opinion of our program from someone that seems to GET IT! We are struggling and I am the first to tell ya that I am frustrated with the losses. I am the one that said we belong in the WCAL...I still don't think we belong in the OCC...but...thanks for the positive comments!
  • OQB
It is nice to hear outsider comments about our program....because we don't hear the positives like the post you just made.

Like I posted earlier, even the best of the best have these seasons come up and to have a losing season every 9 years really isn't that bad....even though right now it is very frustrating.

RTR: Get it back on track this week Riders!

Come on guys! I haven't heard the fat lady sing, so it is way to early to give it up already and what kind of Rider fan goes and watches Wooster?

I knew there was something we were missing all year! When the kids run out of the locker room there is NO cowbell. That's it. Lets go back and play the last 3 games with the cowbell and see if we arent 3-1 or 4-0! You can take the talent out of Orrville but man leave the Cowbell!!!

I hate to say this but I honestly believe this team will not win another game this year. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I will be. Possibly clear fork but I doubt it.

Good job Troll but nobody is biting on that bate.

We dont have playmakers? None? Wow! I totally disagree. This team isnt losing due to a lack of talent because we have had more talent then every team we played except Copley. Execution is where we lack. Kids may practice hard and look great but what happens on Friday nights is the real deal. The talent is there. The execution is mediocre at best and that starts at the top

Dude lighten up, it’s got to be work to be so negative all the time! Is there anybody out there you don’t hate?
  • Red Rider Nation
Sounds like you are the one that needs to lighten up. I was being serious about the cowbell. There has been something missing about the atmosphere and when 5knots wrote that it dawned on me thats what it is.
  • gowoo
Sounds like Bruce needs more Cowbell!

It sucks that we have nothing football realated to talk about and we are only in week 5.

Well, this team is now playing the "spoiler" role. Lets go steal a few games these next few weeks. I think we are going to find out the true character and heart of this team these next 3 weeks!

    Good Luck Riders!
So are you saying our kids are not as smart as kids from every other team we play. I say it is a coaching thing, the coach could teach signals . I do not think this staff is smart enough to install such a system. Great coach for life lessons, horrible for x's and o's. Every team we play knows exactly what we are going to do on offense. In the past we had superior athletes thats how we won, this year we do not . It is up to the coach to make changes and we all know he won`t do that.

If you truly were being sincere, I apologize
  • OQB
This same coaching staff used signals and wristbands before...do you honestly think that is the reason our offense isn't producing?
