  You can have that web cast just like Norwayne has just go to Locallivesports.com and get a someone who wants to broadcast it. They want to get all local schools in area involved. It's archived so can listen after game also.

  Watched first half of JV game against Lexington. Looked good - (Orr) 24 to (Lex) 0 when I left at half time.

  If we get that on-line radio thing going, I nominate riders1 to be the announcer. He would be really good and he goes to all the games.

  Here are our numbers of players playing at each level:
  
  80 boys playing in the peewee league
  30 boys playing in 7th grade
  17 boys playing in 8th grade
  18 boys playing for freshman
  38 JV/Varsity players
  
  
  Old Rider...How was your view of the game last week down there on the sidelines? What were your thoughts on that game, I came away not impressed with either team.

  We probably would not compete well there either. We would not beat Norwayne, Hillsdale, Northwestern. Add that to losses by Copley and Triway and we end up in the same boat. We need to revamp our offense and figure out a way these next 4 weeks to keep other teams' offense off the field or we will get run over by these next 4. If you think its been bad so far if we copntinue to play like this we will be blown out. Lexington in my opinion was the worst team we played so far. I thought not even as good as NW. No reason for losing 30-8 against them. For D2 they didnt have size or speed. Put Zook back at RB and mix up some plays and get some first downs and make it respectable. If not we will lose as bad as Rittman did last week to Norwayne!

  I did not attend the Lex game...However, I was on the sidelines at the Woo - Ashland game. I was not impressed with Wooster, Ashland will be a tough one!
  
  As far as the Riders...I think its very obvious that Monheim, Brenner, and Turner made the other guys around them look better. Great players make average players look good and that was the case last year. Someone needs to step up and be a playmaker, but we also need to design an offense that puts our playmakers in a position to do what they do best...an we don't do that.
  
  Our offense seems so watered down and simple that it must be pretty easy to gameplan against us. I don't want to sound as though I am bashing the offense, because our defense isn't getting it done either. Big plays have killed us and they always happen at critical times (before half, first play of a half, etc.).
  
  We are a D5 team playing schools much bigger than us and that needs to change. We cannot compete in the OCC. We had some good teams just recently that never won a league title. I know...it prepares us for the playoffs, but you have to win games to make the playoffs and this league is not one where an average Orrville team is gonna win games. We need a really good team to even compete in this league...an average team won't get it done!

  2 Clearfork scout guys sat right behind me at the Lex game and several times they referenced Orrville's offense as very simple and easy to defend. Agree 100%. It doesnt take long to figure our 5 plays out on film.

  Finally someone is agreeing with what I've been saying for years. We need to change our offense. We have the pieces in place to run the option. It would work with short at qb , I know he's small but it would work. Maybe our coaching staff doesn't know how to install it. Devault seems unwilling to change anything. A good coach wins by adapting to the type of players he has. Devault never changes despite not having the offense to score points regularly. He should build the offense around the type of players he has, not forcing them to run the same formations and plays over and over again. A good coach can win with mediocre talent, we will see how good Devault is this season. I honestly do not think we will win another game this year. Possibly clearfork but I don't think that will happen either.

  You want to go to an option offense with a 120lb quarter back? Great idea. Maybe the real problem is not the coaches it is the players! They are what they are. There is no game changers on this team and the O-line is bad.
  
  Old Rider- Have the team put on there big boy pants and get there job done. I don't want to be in the WCAL or any of that other crap. If you see some of these kids (some of) the day after the game you would have thought they won. Get your butt in the weight room do some real work and get better. You can not trot out on the field on Friday night and win becasue you are the Riders. That is earned and it always has been.

  This seems like a sour year for sure (at least so far). Old Rider you may have a point but even when we couldn't get in a conference we always played bigger schools. Sometimes it really helped and some years it hurt but it always seemed to even out over time.
  
  Players, playmakers, and teams seem to move in cycles sometimes in small towns like ours. Perhaps this is a year where we are gonna have to really fight to win 4 or 5 games. Really doesn't mean we have bad kids, lazy kids or poor coaching... They just may not be good enough this year? I find humility in living outside the community and seeing it from a distance now. What I mean is we have become so accustom to winning in Orrville that our vision can get blurred to the lessons these young men are (should be) learning on the field. Looks like it could be a tough year for the Red Riders. My hope is they stay the course and keep putting in the effort on Friday night. Sometimes in life you can put all you have into something and it just doesn't always work out. Good luck Riders!

  The problem is we run a "zone blocking" scheme. We don't cut block, pull, or angle hardly at all anymore. And yes...we may not win another game this year!

  Thats just it...we have a handful of kids that have put in that extra time and others that go through the motions. It is definatley EARNED!

  I think you're describing every football program I've seen this year! You have a handful of kids who are "hardcore" and then a bunch who enjoy wearing jerseys and hanging out with their buddies on Friday night. Which ever may be the case, though, I'd always urge people to not take their frustrations out on the kids. They aren't pros. Nobody takes the field intending on making mistakes. I respect any boy who goes through August two-a-days instead of choosing to sit on his butt at home playing xbox. And believe me, there are plenty of those.

  Yep. This is the down side of a tradition rich program. You want to achieve as much as every team before you...and sometimes its just not in the cards....but that doesn't point to a lack of effort.
  
  I dont like losing anymore than the next fan, but keep it in perspective. There's nothing that any of us can yell from the cheap seats on Friday nights that will change anything.
  
  Next Booster club meeting is October 1st (Monday) at the high school. Coach Davault attends every one of those and I'm sure would appreciate questions and feedback...positive or negative.

  I just think we need to create an offense around our strengths and not to exploit our weaknesses. We have run the same offense for the last 7 years and it does NOT work. We ran the same offense with a bunch of talent that we do this year with less talent. Short can do some great things just like Turner last year but we cannot find a way to get playmakers the ball. I just dont get it. And please please please for heaven's sake get rid of running plays in and out with the kids. Use signals like every other high school team in America.

  I would like to see us signal plays in as well, but you need kids with some sort of a football IQ to do that and were thin there. We did incorporate the wrist band system, but I have not seen us use it much.
  
  Well, this team is now playing the "spoiler" role. Lets go steal a few games these next few weeks. I think we are going to find out the true character and heart of this team these next 3 weeks!
