Orrville Red Rider Football 2012

Troll KingThanks rrfan for if nothing else showing the great rrider1 that some people do remember miniscule little things that his greatness may have missed.
-
OQBGlad we're all getting along!!
GO RIDERS -
Old RiderTroll & Series...not sure why all the negative comments towards RR1. If the two of you only knew how much time and effort that he puts in to covering ALL of Red Rider athletics with his blog (which most schools have nothing that compare to what RR1's blog is about and the information available there). He is also writing for the OrrViews, was on the turf committee, is active in the booster club, and also runs the animated screen of the scoreboard on Friday nights....thats all by choice and NO compensation!
Forgot to mention...also has three little one's at home!
I appreciate all that he does and enjoy reading everyone of his articles and posts to his blog! Keep up the hard work RR1...it is greatly appreciated by (ALMOST ALL) Red Rider fans!!! -
RedRider1Thanks OR...at the next clique meeting, I owe you a drink.

old rider, you obviously missed the negativism towards TK and myself as some of the rr1 "fans" are wont to do. I don't need to know nor be concerned with the amount of time and effort that he puts towards his hobby, passion and/or career. Those are "his" choices, compensation or not. If he didn't do them, with the exception of his blog, (perhaps), those positions are replaceable.Old Rider;1258824 wrote:Troll & Series...not sure why all the negative comments towards RR1. So, he has 3 small children, he is neither the first or only person with a family obligation of three children or more that yet still served themselves through their interests and hobbies.
Your "hoorahs" would lead some to believe that he's a public servant putting his life in harm's way. -
RedRider1See everyone at the game...GO RIDERS!!

Exactly the kind of response I would expect from you. You nailed it! Who are the "some" that would be lead to believe that he is a "public servant"? You mentioned it, so I am assuming you think that. 99.9% of the people that read my post would not draw those conclusions! You are an interesting individual....wow!Series62;1258906 wrote:old rider, you obviously missed the negativism towards TK and myself as some of the rr1 "fans" are wont to do. If someone would like to write about the football team for Orrviews, I'd give them that job today. No one has asked.Series62;1258906 wrote:Those are "his" choices, compensation or not. If he didn't do them, with the exception of his blog, (perhaps), those positions are replaceable.
If someone would like to run the scoreboard, they can. I've asked for people to learn it along with me...no one has taken me up on it.
Websites are free to create...if someone wants to do one, they'd be more than welcome...no one has.
You are right...they are my choices. I CHOOSE to be involved, not to serve myself but to serve others. How you could perceive volunteerism as self-serving speaks to your view of the world.
I guess it's just easier to be bitter and question how others are doing things rather than stepping up and getting in the game. -

What he does is not a necessary service, and in that work, I know he is not a public servant. By your post, you are the "some"!Old Rider;1258914 wrote:Exactly the kind of response I would expect from you. You nailed it! Red Rider RazzleHey RR1, if you are serious about others learning to run the scoreboard, I would love to learn it. Let's have a good game tonight Riders. It's should be a great game.

By your first three statements, therein is the proof of the relevancy of those activities to others.RedRider1;1258920 wrote:If someone would like to write about the football team for Orrviews, I'd give them that job today. No one has asked.

Your volunteerism in that which you "choose" to do are the things you "want" to do. None of those are required "public services". Should you become unable prior to game-time, I'm confident someone could operate the scoreboard and the animations. And if not, I've been in Orrville for 19 years, 18 w/out scoreboard animations, the game will go on!
How you percieve your self-serving hobbies of volunteerism as a public service speaks to your view of the world.
Bitter? Never! Nor have I questioned how or what you're doing! "Step up and get in the game", of high school athletic nostalgia!
Really!? -

Whoa...That might not bode well for the anti-dummy "Lynching" people during Wooster week.RedRider1;1258703 wrote:It's all good...really..I believe you & appreciate the explanation.
keep the Lynch Streak going. . -
Troll KingWell at the half Triway 29 Orrville 14. First thing I want to say is Fox 8 curse is alive and well. Second thing is our coach is calling the dumbest game ever. We are running at will on them and coach keeps throwing go figure. Lastly we have no qb. Triway has a sophomore playing that looks like a senior.

I agree. I don't understand it.Troll King;1259029 wrote:We are running at will on them .

RedRider1137 yds rushing in the 3rd quarter alone. At the point we had nearly 250 yds rushing.
I'll never question the Fox8 curse again.
Field looked great & pregame was awesome but we were flat after that. Fans & players.
Bad passes, lots of drops & bad snaps. Just a very disjointed game & effort. Defense hung around but couldn't get the big play & stop when they needed.
Whole team looked bad. And tip your hat to Triway. They out executed us & just outplayed us.
We lost by 9, but it felt like 30.
Funny how the optics change when you win versus when you lose. -
Mr. 300Nice win Triway.
-
OQBLots of things to work on this week in practice. We got out played in every phase of the game. All the credit goes to Triway.
You can't win them all...but this one really stings. -

So, rr1, will Fox8 not be invited to any more celebratory sports shendigs?RedRider1;1259075 wrote:137 yds rushing in the 3rd quarter alone. At the point we had nearly 250 yds rushing.

Normally, with comments such as those (^^^), would cause you and yours to accuse some of throwing the team under the bus and that you are being negative. It seems you simply wrote your version of what happened in the game.
Just because it isn't pleasant does not make it negative. -
BRFWhat a debacle.
I agree with everything you said, RR1. I can't think of anything more to add to it.
EXCEPT....... A few words on the pre-game:
1. The guy that parachuted the flag in is a former student of mine and I had a nice chat with him.
2. The young man who sang America the Beautiful....very nice of him to share his talent with the crowd. Never once did I think he was doing it to stroke his own ego.
Also, bowling sucks. -
Red Rider RazzleCongrats to Triway, they came in with a game plan and executed it and won. This was not a fluke win for them, they kicked Orrvilles butt. They out-played us, out-coached us, and the worst one in my book, they out-conditioned us. It seemed that a Rider was cramping up on every other play late in the game. Time for Orrville to rise back up and get back to work.
Again, congratulations to Triway. -

No one predicted this one. Total shocker. I guess that's why they play the game.Red Rider Razzle;1259099 wrote:Congrats to Triway, they came in with a game plan and executed it and won. Red Riders need to re-group.
