I agree that's cool also. But we really should have the Logos. It would look so much more nicer. remember this is permanent. I say the Pitchfork with Devils under it. Its old school and unoffensive. its was on the helmets for almost 20 years. longest logo in school history.. last it was used was in 2004 or beginning of 05 then switching to the CM logo.. I want it to be stylish. There should be a vote for it at the meeting.oldschoolreddev;982120 wrote:I would be in favor of putting Memorial or Campbell in the end zones with a big M at the 50 yard line. That would be good enough for me. -

I see you're point completely. I'm speaking merely in reference to things like the 89 team reunion, the scooter dedication, those things were pushed to the side and then haphazardly thrown together at the last minute.BigDean1;982035 wrote:Not the schools. Campbell has beautiful schools and a beautiful stadium. Granted the stadium should have some evidence showcasing the history of the football program. We could see the first step in that process sometime next year. The city simply has never recovered from the loss of the steel mills, which gave Campbell so much revenue. Campbell needs sources of revenue or it may well never recover. It's a land locked city whose major source of revenues were the mills built along the river. I always wish nothing but the best for my alma mater and my hometown. Just my opinion.
We all had opinions on them at the time.
You all know, I want this done right as much as anyone. -

Regarding the schools, the only thing that will change the way things are done is younger people getting involved. Sometimes one has to do things on his own to get something done. A good example of that are the signs that will recognize the 1989 team. I believe those will be in place by next season. That idea came from a younger gentleman. There is also a younger gentlemen who is behind the inquiry into the turf installation at the stadium.RIP.Soroka.89;982542 wrote:I see you're point completely. I was at the game and talk to Scooters Daughter. She was just happy they dedicated that night to him!! And She wished the team would have put a little more into what she said should have been a blow out. Campbell use to put everything into a Friday night. the homecomings. dedications. EVERYTHING>!!!! But i have to go with Dean. For one it was the student body who organized and planed and executed all those things back then. the banners around the the football field that would say kill the cats . or hang the cardinals. r my favorite. WELCOME TO HELL!!!!!! Its today's student body that dont care. i think it died with OLD MEMORIAL!BigDean1;982828 wrote:Regarding the schools, the only thing that will change the way things are done is younger people getting involved. Im probably the biggest Fan of the old school football teams. and i'm also a fan of anyone who will talk about them. We all have to understand and especially me for once that its over. That long era is long gone. no more standing at the flag poll waiting for your name to be called by scooter. no more of the teams meeting at the center of the field to talk smack.<---------- that there pumpped me and my family up. Long gone are the Devil Jumping Jacks on the visiters field. to me the tadition is dead. and i seem to have a problem with letting go of what use to be,. Also if they just put a simple CM in the middle of the field than don put noting at all. we are more then justy CM we are RED DEVILS> Also thanks to the ones who got this all started. You are truly old school devils. -
reddevil90Has anymore been said about the turf??

takeakneeNot that I've heard but it was nice to see ShaqMac being courted by St Patrick's favorite team while lifting at the Y. I'll wait for spread to deny it cuz he's a pretty loyal guy but I was there.
For the record. He's going nowhere -

Unreal. He is dedicated. And with the problems hopefully gone. We should have a successful season.. A lot of talent is on its way. Just hope it stays around.takeaknee;1006770 wrote:Not that I've heard but it was nice to see ShaqMac being courted by St Patrick's favorite team while lifting at the Y. The two parochial powers do their very best to recruit each and every good player in the area. That will never change.omemorialhigh;1007596 wrote:id be shocked if thats the first time they talked to him... -

I was told by a couple of players that it's a done deal and the turf will be installed before the start of next season. What I want is some confirmation from someone other than players. I have not had that.reddevil90;1006069 wrote:Has anymore been said about the turf?? -

Yeah would be nice. Im mixed about turf. I always said Football is meant to be played on Grass. But wow it would really make Knapick field look awesome. And also should allow some div 4 5 and 6 playoff games in the area to be played there too.BigDean1;1007675 wrote:I was told by a couple of players that it's a done deal and the turf will be installed before the start of next season. Lol, no that probably happened. Can't deny it -
omemorialhighits the way of the world...what you gonna do. no use complaining about it. until the state does something about it alls fair in love and war. no use losing sleep over it. do your best considering the circumstances. ive always said this isnt what the true spirit of high school sports once was. in my time, it was my community up against your community. were better than you. now its my community against whoever you can get from the tri-county area. its not apples to apples. but no use crying that theyre recruiting our players...dont be naive to think that was the first time theyve tried. more often than not they will be successful.

sooner1It looks like Struthers new football coach will be the assistant football coach at Westminster College, friends with Struthers Superintendent. Is Zetts coaching at Campbell next year? He's been running Struther's weightroom!!
-
Diet CokeSince the end of the season it was posted Sikora, then Ungaro, and then Hoke was the "next head coach" at Struthers.
Now we have a new name. Wait a bit and Jim Tressel's name will be mentioned next week. -
omemorialhighshame on coach zetts if he plans on staying on at memorial. either way he cant be allowed back on the campbell sidelines...lets see how sikora handles this
-
sooner1It's a joke!
-
reddevil90Wow what the hell happen? what this about Zetts??? i never heard this..... And sikora Is campbells coach next year. Unless something drastic happens. crazy to leave the talent coming. and also the attitude this years team had is gone and will be long forgotten. You know what everyone here has did this same marry go round last year. it would have happen by now.

Zetts had better not be back on the sidelines for Campbell next season. If he is, it's more than a joke !!sooner1;1017692 wrote:It's a joke! -
BTrevDiet Coke... get your posts up before you decide to take cheap shots. No one said Ungaro was going to be the coach. Get over yourself. All that was said, was that he'd be a likely candidate. And everyone was saying that Hake would be the guy. The Campbell guys were the ones who started the Sikora to Struthers rumor.
The post above just says that it looks like an Assistant Coach at Westminster will get the job. No name was mentioned.
Wait until Tuesday. That's when we'll know for sure.
I knew Zetts was taking over the weight room a couple weeks ago. I kept quiet about it. Ask Spread. I PMed him about it on December 5th, when he took over. I found out about it on the 4th. I knew the Campbell guys would find out eventually, so I let them leak it onto the forum.
I'm not sure if he's actually in charge of the weight lifting program for the football team, or if he's just the Strength and Conditioning coach. Struthers does have a Strength and Conditioning class. They started it after the weight room facility was built, back in 2004. I had it when I was in school, when Dota was there. It's open to all students,
not just football players.
Maybe he's in charge of both? -

Why apply for a job, only to decline it when they offer it to you? -
sooner1The guy from Westminster and the guy from Streetsboro.
