WWEK 10: STRUTHERS (4-5) AT CAMPBELL MEMORIAL (7-2)
-
sooner1The Ryan era was a joke! Oldschool, I agree with you. The way the administration has treated some of the former alumni, you can see why they don't involved with the school. Some guys have to coach all over Ohio but can't coach at the alma mater because of politics. This is going to be my first time watching the Campbell/ Struthers game since 1987!
-
oldschoolreddevI agree sooner. That 1987 game was a pretty good one. I believe a young Campbell team was up at the half to a loaded Struthers squad that played Mooney in the regional final that year. Some hard hitting football back then. I expect the same this week.
-
QuakerOatsCampbell to win it, 35 - 14.

omemorialhighusually people dont like taking steps back in their careers...USUALLY.

So Bayuk and his staff didn't take a huge step backwards when they went to Campbell? Sometimes, you have to go backwards, in order to move forward.omemorialhigh;947160 wrote:usually people dont like taking steps back in their careers...USUALLY.
Just saying...
I doubt it'll happen. I really want to be wrong, but I'm not getting my hopes up. -
omemorialhighif he leaves its only because its his alma mater....not because its a better opportunity. if he leaves it will be pretty crappy after this administration trusted him to take over after bayuk and he bartered so hard for the job. hes done his job wonderfully, but if he turns his back on these people and goes to struthers it would be an ultimate slap in the face. dont forget his son and father are cmhs grads...and his son absolutely loves being a Devil. i just dont see it...could be wrong.
-
omemorialhighIm not trying to stir the pot...but lets be honest Struthers is not a good football program if you look at the whole body of work. Im sorry I cant say that. Campbell may not be one either in your opinion, but Struthers just isnt somewhere Id say is a good football program. They have a handful of good years. Honestly. Its a step down. Especially with Struthers moving to the big tier in D3. Lets say they win 5 games this year with this schedule, what do you think they will do with similar talent with next years schedule???? Its AT LEAST a 5 year project to even talk about playoffs. Step down plain and simple. If Sikora leaves, he leaves...but hed be a fool to leave for Struthers.

LineBackerUNo matter of the outcome of the game tmrw you will see Sikora coaching at struthers next year along with zetts... fact
-
reddevil90Look guys wish all you want. If it happens it happens. Does not mean that you will have success like Campbell did. Campbell had the talent every year!! But never had a coach to bring the talent out. If they go then they go. Good luck. But i would think the staff would not abandon the kids. All the kids coming up like the staff and many times said they cant wait to get up to varsity. And the coaching staff have said many times openly they are stoked about the talent coming up;.. Plus i still have not heard that those rumors going on in struthers are true... Didn't Asher sign a two year contract?
-
BigDean1Did any of you ever think that this Sikora / Zetts to Struthers rumor may be just a clever ploy fabricated by someone to get the Campbell players to read into this crap....... and to believe it? These are young kids. They are gullible. Many of them will believe anything that is printed about them. Instead of talking about what we can expect to see in this game we've got people posting about these rumors as if they are more important than what lies ahead for Campbell Memorial's football team tomorrow night. Believe me, the kids and coaches read this forum. And the last thing these kids need right now is another distraction. It seems that each and every thread pertaining to the Campbell games this season has included some gossip about things totally unrelated to the games. Campbell players..............don't believe this garbage about your coaches. Just focus on the task at hand. Beat Struthers.

All fine and dandy... but omemorialhigh is the one who started the rumor on here that Sikora was already approached about coaching at Struthers next year. It wasn't Spread, or Ohio, or me, or anyone else... it was one of your own.BigDean1;947688 wrote:Did any of you ever think that this Sikora / Zetts to Struthers rumor may be just a clever ploy fabricated by someone to get the Campbell players to read into this crap....... and to believe it? Your move... -
cmhs_prideWhat are we doing..... Playing checkers? "Your Move" ?? Lol
Anyway, in the moment which is what we are, we both have coaching staffs in place that will coach our kids tonight. To talk about whetheror not one or the other is leaving or staying or whatever.... Save it. There is a game tonight. Has Struthers' season been that bad that you guys can't talk about the upcoming game at all and all focus is on how or when or why the opposing teams coach will leave, could leave, should leave??
Talk about the damn game already. We have a cold one tonight and the field is not exactly Stellar. Who does that favor in all of your opinions. -
cmhs_pridePersonally in this war..... I don't know what if anything favors one or the other given the way this battle has played out time and time again.
-
sonnyblackspread,
campbell was most definitely a step back from hubbard when bayuk and company arrived, couldn't get any lower than where we were at. now it's a different story, i think sikora is in it for the long haul, too much talent coming up to leave now. -
oldschoolreddevI hope that the field isn't too bad tonight. I see an all out war. I can't wait. Good Luck Red Devils!

Just making a point. It was first stated by omemorialhigh. Therefore any chatter about it following is fair game. You can't sit there and tell me that we're making it all up though, when it wasn't us who started it.
What do you want to know? Everything has already been said.
You guys have said several times that the coaches read these forums. Why would I, or anyone else post anything that could be used against us later?
Starting offense...
LT: #75 Curtis Wagner 6'2" 325 JR

HB: #44 Dave Stewart 6' 217 JR... Stewart has practiced all week and will play tonight.

You really won't get much more out of me, than what I've already posted... -
cmhs_prideNo Kudos to me.....no clue which movie its from.
I know where the comments originated about coaching moves, and I see we all had our two cents worth. As far as the coaches reading this stuff.....I would assume for pure entertainment. I doubt they will be coming after anybody and suing them for falsely accusing them of talking to other teams......so why wouldnt you or anyone else just throw that out there for the hell of it?
Looks like you guys have some size on that line. Should be interesting in the trenches.
Dave Stewart....any relation to Rich and Donny? -
cmhs_pride
Like I told you and Bigdean for a couple years now.........its up to these kids whether or not they want to maKE their mark for the next decade. Possible third straight year into the playoffs without putting the cart before the horse. Key word is possible. Two straight AAC titles...a playoff win...and quote me....our best team has yet to arrive. They are on their way though. Coach Sikora knows it, we know it.....and all these kids have to do is stick with the game plan, and success will continue to follow.sonnyblack;947931 wrote:spread,

OhioRecords are thrown out tonight, SOS is thrown out, its all about pride and heart and whoever bring that wins the game Better Struthers teams have lost to weaker Campbell teams IMO 2010 is the last time, but this should be a war excited for tonight!

Anyone know what movie that was from? Hint... Denzel Washington said it, and he won an Oscar for his role in that film.cmhs_pride;948258 wrote:No Kudos to me.....no clue which movie its from.

No no no... I know the coaches probably read this stuff and get a good chuckle out of some of the ridiculous stuff we all post. Hi Coach Zetts! *waives hello*
I'll give an example. My Freshman year, the QB wore #24. Before the Canfield game, some guys went on JJHuddle and started a thread about Struthers vs Canfield Freshman Football. They went on about how they always started off every game with a sweep to #24, that always netted them good yardage. My 8th grade year, the 7th grade RB wore #24 and he played with the A team. Anyways... Canfield read this, and thought it was the same RB. We lined a WR up at QB, moved the QB to RB, and ran a HB Pass on the very first play. Canfield bit hard on the fake, and #24 hit the TE in stride for a TD, and no one touched him.
Funny thing is... it was the last game of the year. If Canfield had watched 2 seconds of film on Struthers, they would've known something was up.
Get my drift? I'm not gonna give away any tendencies, or anything like that. You guys figure it out.
I'm not sure about Stewart. I've only chatted with him a few times, and each conversation was brief and to the point. -
