Division IV Region 14

As long as they keep it going...I will keep coming back!

    GO RED RIDERS!
  • riders1
Mooney DIII and Watterson DIII and Toledo Rogers DII were off this week, Upper Scioto Valley DVI had a game this week. Wonder why no one scheduled Mooney, Watterson, or Rogers, but USV was picked up? Why didn't Mooney and Watterson play each other?
  • OQB
They have been playing each other the past few years, maybe their contract ran out, and Watterson was tired of losing to them.
  • Rocketsfan
There was talk of Genoa possibly playing Rogers but they picked up USV instead. Not sure why.
  • riders1
Probably would have been to hard to score 50 against a DII school and the JV's and freshmen might not get to play :)

Guess I tossed that beach ball up to you riders1 and you smacked it out of the park.

All in fun, what else is there until Friday night?

Off topic but we can talk about how great Oak Harbor is doing so far this season !

Joe eitel is updated so I have something to do now :)

Oak Harbor is having an excellent season... They have a lot of senior leaders who want to be remember for a lot more than what Oak Harbors had to offer the last two seaons. OH is my pick to win the SBC. That Clyde/OH game should be a great atmosphere and a lot of hard hitting. Steve Young that is capable of making plays to a few fast WR's as well as plays with his feet when pushed outta the pocket. Coach May has those boys headed in the right direction!

    No kidding....

Riders at #2 just like I figured.

If Clear Fork beats Wooster, they jump Orrville for #2...even if Orrville's 2nd level points from Triway and Northwest come through.

Orrville & Genoa would be in a dead-heat for 3rd or 4th if that happens.

Amazing how Lake is 4-1....but doesn't have a single 2nd level point. Talk about a weak schedule.

Their week 1-3 opponents are a combined 1-14....that wont help. But that just means they'll be a real tough 4 or 5 seed.

EC will stay at 1, then Orrville 2, Genoa 3, CF 4, Galion 5, OG 6.
RR1 I think you missed that Galion lost so they moved down to 9 not up, CF and Genoa 3 & 4 , OG 5, and the purple scum 6 :)

    Up to # 8 this week :)
  • RedRider1
I must have....swore I saw they won, but that wasn't the case.

Riders need NW to beat Canton South....Triway to beat Indian Valley and Lex to beat Madison. Even if all that happens, and CF beats Wooster, we still might get jumped.

Not counting on Senior beating Ashland.

That's what my Excel workbook is for, RR1. I'll get the results in this week and get you some scenarios. But I wouldn't worry about jumping anyone right now. After week 8, before the last 2 weeks, is when I'd start looking at where people might fall. But if you're worried about ranks after week 6, I'll try to get you some scenarios if you haven't done them in the workbook already. As long as you beat who you're supposed to beat, you're going to host a game, so I wouldn't be too worried. I'm guessing you could lose to Clear Fork and Ashland and still host.

We are "purple scum" now? :-(

Where does the "supposed to beat" meter fall in terms of Orrville vs. Wooster and Orrville vs. Clear Fork? Right now, both of those games are a tossup.

In my personal opinion, I put Orrville as the favorite over Wooster and the home team the favorite in Clear Fork/Orrville... so that'd be Orrville. But you're right, there are some very tough, close-to-call games the rest of the season. That's why I think worrying about R14 placement right now is a waste of time. Lots of OCC games to go with bunches of possible scenarios.

As always, maybe after week 7 but definitely after week 8 has been completed, I will put some scenarios up with final point totals and projected rankings. That's when it gets fun!

I see Orrville #1, EC 2, Genoa 3, CF 4, OG 5, and triway 6 after week 6 games. I don't see CF beating Wooster.

Triway needs to beat Manchester period to have a legit shot.

    This is fun!

I wouldn't say that. With us sitting at the #6 spot right now and having some very winnable games from here on out, we can definitely make it with an 8-2 record. Before this week, we had a 76% chance to make the playoffs at 8 wins. That was before Galion, Huron, Van Wert, and Bucyrus all lost. I can only imagine our percentages just skyrocketed. Keep an eye out for Drew Pasteur's next update at http://www.fantastic50.net/index.php?pr=Ohio_Region_14

Tusky Valley is another must game, because the last 2 games will give few points.

I totally agree. Triway must beat all the teams they're expected to beat. Tusky is a very good team, so that could be a toss-up... but most people would pick us to win as of right now, IMO, so I'm counting that as a "should win" for now. If we lose to Manchester, we can't afford to lose any of the other games. If we beat Manchester, all is good in the world. But if we lose to Manchester AND slip in another game, I hope that "other game" isn't Tusky. We can't lose to both Manchester AND Tusky and still expect to make it to week 11.

I am looking at the Manchester game for more than Just the points on the line. Being able to win AT Manchester will give the Titans some extra swagger.

Great point. If we can beat Manchester @ Manchester, that would be a statement game for us as a team and a program. If we happen to pull it off, we could have a chance at a home game, IMO, as long as we do in fact win out.
