And beyond the new charity element, this year’s Gillette Fusion ProGlide Prelude to the Dream will be a team event. There will still be an individual race winner, but there will now be a race within the race, with the field broken up into four teams, each representing a children’s hospital:

    • Team Riley: Bowyer (captain), Ryan Newman, J. Gordon, Brian Vickers, A.J. Allmendinger, Kenny Wallace and Ron Capps.
    • Team Cincinnati: Kahne (captain), Logano, Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Bill Elliott and Cruz Pedregon.
    • Team Levine: Busch (captain), Johnson, Kenseth, David Reutimann, Dave Blaney and Marcos Ambrose.
    • Team St. Jude: Hamlin (captain), Edwards, Robby Gordon, Ken Schrader, Aric Almirola, Ricky Carmichael and Ray Evernham.

Each hospital will receive a donation, with the payout breakdown as follows:

    • Winning team receives 45 percent of net money raised.
    • Second-place team receives 25 percent of net money raised.
    • Third- and fourth-place teams each receive 15 percent of net money raised.

The lowest team score wins, and only the top-five drivers from each team will be scored. For example, if Team Riley has finishes of first, fourth, seventh, 11th and 18th, respectively, from its top-five drivers, its score will be 41. In the event of a tie, the sixth driver will be scored.

At least it's an Earnhardt driving it. Anyone else and I'd probably not like it as much.

Gonna be special because of being at this track. I was no fan of his dad, but always liked Jr. When Dale Jr. won the July race at Daytona after his dad died you could feel the spirit of Dale Sr. in the air. It was magical. Just as special was Jr's story when he burned his neck in the corvette. I saw the in car video and it was spooky.
I can see him in a few more years Cup racing an AC/Delco 3 for Childress, like his Busch series title winners.
It'll sell, and might be a good family team.

I have heard people speculate that this is the foot in the door of Jr stepping into Harvicks ride at RCR in 2011. Kahn taking Jr's spot at HMS, and MM staying at HMS.
  • Speedofsand
I don't think Hendrick wants to throw away Amp/Nat Guard $$$$$$$

Started out to be a dull ass race! Man, definitely not your typical Richmond. Kyle Busch had everyone lapped up to 8th position at one point in the race before the caution came out! Gordon, a bridesmaid once again! Just can't seem to finish! Let a good bit of the race, Kyle passes him on the restart with 6 to go and never looked back. Caution flag threw with 10 to go and Kyle came in and took 4 tires while Jeff stayed out. Fresh tires prevailed again. I believe, Kyle becomes the first driver to win from the pole at Richmond. Good to see the best car win for a change! Jr. with a solid 32nd finish. :p Went a lap down, then cut a tire. Just wasn't his night. Drops out of the chase in points, sitting at 13th, 7 points out. Can't say much either, Kurt finished 18th. Wasn't a good night for him either. Had a decent car, but got a lap down and just couldn't ever get it back. Drops a spot to 8th in the points. Jimmie Johnson wrecked again! WOOHOO! Unfortunately, it was at the finish line, so he still finished 10th. But loses the points lead to 3rd place finisher Kevin Harvick.
