Reds Offseason Thread---New Manager, changes etc

Cool, I just bought 4 in the Sun/Moon Deck for our company so that's probably where I'll end up. Glad I saw your post, I was supposed to do that yesterday, haha.

Reds win the opener vs the Indians.
I had just gotten to the point where I was happy for the Indians when they played well and then realized today they signed that absolute garbage piece of shit Nyjer Morgan. I only hate Ryan Braun more in all of baseball.

Have a retired teaching friend with her family in Reds camp and she posted on FB about how they had a great time and every Reds player was willing and gracious to sign autographs and take pictures.....except for Votto.

She also said that Billy Hamilton was out on the field over and hour after all the other Reds left and he spent most of the time working on baserunning

Just sayin.....this woman is a huge Reds fan and a very reasonable person. I've never seen her put anything negative on FB. I understand you can't satisfy everyone but coming from her surprised me.

Which is strange since Votto has said the image people get of him isn't fair, and he wants people to know the real him.

This. I think it was FSO that wrote an article just a few days ago about this.

Maybe the real him is just a gigantic asshole and he was worried people just thought he was reserved and kind of quiet.

Anyone know if diamond club seats ever get below face?
I know of someone who has them for the season and is selling alot that they dont use for $218/each.
Just wondering if they ever come up cheaper than that.

I guess I dont mind Votto and how he acts. I know it is the price of fame, but man I would think it is annoying as hell to have people yelling your name and wanting pics/autographs all the time.

I am the type of person who likes to do what I do, and dont care to get recognized or anything like that. If I was a famous player I would probably be more like Votto. People take him as being borish and an asshole, I just see him as a person who shines away from the attention and limelight and just wants to play ball.

A lot of it has to do with where and how he was raised. The guy is never going to be Mr. Personality. He's never going to be a great interview. It is what it is...

    Therefore, as always....CANADA SUCKS.

I know he has had anxiety issues in the past, maybe that plays a part in it.

Saw that Neftali Soto was going to start working at catcher.

He laid down a perfectly placed bunt in the top of the 1st yesterday. As soon as he got it down, there was no doubt that they weren't going to be able to make the play. A nice slow ball just past the mound on the first base side. Drew the first baseman off the bag and it was a foot race between Hamilton and the second baseman to get to the bag. He was safe by about 3 steps.

Gotcha...the "lol" threw me off, and I didn't know if he was being serious or sarcastic.

I don't give a shit if he has some beef with the Cinci media. Probably some butthurtness on both sides. The thing is none of those media douches help the Reds win games and BP does. I think ill side w Phillips.
  • Midstate01
My problem is he wants to use 1 stat to define him...yet if anyone uses any other stat then they are attacking him. It's bullshit. ..

He used D and RBI in that article. He also hit like .320 w risp. People who are ripping him for his performance last year can GFT.
  • Terry_Tate
BP just looks like a bitch with comments like that. He might be offended by it but show them up by having a .350 OBP, not just spouting off about 100 RBIs. He had Choo and Votto ahead of him, hell Stubbs may have hit 100 with those 2 in front of him.

And I'm realistic, I know Stubbs wouldn't have because he'd have struck out 300 times.
  • Rotinaj
Only 300? You mean at least tree fiddy?
