Cleveland Cavaliers Offseason Thread 2013

Commander of AwesomeBe an interesting pick. I'm undecided on him. I'm mostly concerned with his disappearing act.

lhslep134COA I'm not as concerned with his lack of "takeover" mentality since we already have 2 of those Type A personalities (Kyrie, Dion) and maybe a third coming (Lebron ). We just need talent right now, and he's got some major talent. That being said, I'm okay if he's not the pick.

I would give them a hell yeah.Midstate01;1453995 wrote:@SamAmicoFSO: Cavs front office seriously dissecting possibility of drafting Ben McLemore with No. 1 pick, source says. -
Pick6Pretty sure the Cavs FO has said they are considering 4 or so guys with the #1 pick. All smoke.
Interesting that they arent leaking who they have worked out. -
ohiobucks1Sam Amico knows nothing.

Pick6
True. I'd say the best beat writer to go to for the Cavs is Lloyd at ABJ. I'd say the second is Windy even though he technically doesn't even cover us anymore lolohiobucks1;1454188 wrote:Sam Amico knows nothing. -

Sorry general. -
Crimson streakThe more I think about it I wouldn't mind Len with the number 1 pick. He doesn't have the upside of Noel but he has a very nice jumper and pretty damn good defensively. Basically he is a faster stronger and more athletic Z

Crimson streakAlso to add about Len. He pretty much abused Noel when they played Kentucky last year.
-
Pick6Len is 3x the injury concern as Noel. If history has taught us anything, its to stay far far away from big men associated with the words "stress fracture"
-
Laley23Len might be a good pro, but that risk isnt even worth contemplating about at #1.
-
mucalum49Wouldn't mind a way of trading down a few to get Porter and then move back up for Steve Adams.

Commander of AwesomeListening to Pluto podcast's and he says if draft were today Cavs won't draft Noel #1 overall. Too scared of growth plate issue and lack of offense. Says he thinks Ben McLemore would probably be the pick. S&L, I'm sure you've said your thoughts on him already, but would you mind discussing him a bit more since you're the resident Kansas fan?

Ben McLemore is really, really good. 2 seasons ago when he was a freshman and suspended for the season, self called him the Most talented player on the team. Thats with an 2 all americans (1 npoy candidate). He's raw though. He's an incredible jump shooter but had trouble getting to the rim despite his leaping ability. The guy is an incredible dunker, one of the best I've ever seen at the collegiate level. No exaggeration.
My biggest complaint about him is he doesn't seem to take over games. It's strange because he is claiming that it was the system that held him back. Self says he gave him every opportunity to take over but he sometimes wouldn't. I believe self. I could see him on the sidelines yelling for Ben to shoot more.
I think he'd be a great addition to a team, just not sure that team is Cleveland. It would essentially push waiters to the 6th man which I doubt he'd like. I'm thinking if they're not going with Noel, I'd rather they pick porter or McLemore. Either one is fine with me. -
SportsAndLadyAs for actual ability, he's a hell of a shooter. A high riser who will be a dunking highlight reel in Cleveland with kyrie tossing him lobs and assists. Excellent off the pull up. Sweet mid range game. Defense is to be desired. Aka, his defense is below average. I'm not sure how that will fit with mike brown.

mucalum49Bill Simmons tweeted that he thinks we'll swap picks with the Magic and get Moe Harkless in return. He was the 15th pick last year.

Especially a guy who really showed potential at the end of the year
