Just because it doesn't reflect on his work ethic doesn't mean it's not a concern for NBA teams...Azubuike24;1459397 wrote: I guess if he's listening to the wrong people or if his "people" are pissing off NBA teams, that's one thing. Does that really reflect on his character or work ethic for a team?

Midstate01Also if you're picking someone at #1 because of work ethic. Then you're probably going about the process wrong. Work ethic is great but if that was the deciding factor, you'd probably take Victor.

ohiobucks1I swear to god if we pick Len I will be pissed. I am (probably) 100% wrong but somebody please show me a college center who had .4 steals per , and as shitty of stats as him who ended up being an all star. I don't think there have been any. I hate drafting people because they are big and more polished at 19. The most growth occurs in the NBA anyways. I want a kid who is going to become a force when he's 25. Screw the lets make the 8th seed and lose first round and ruin our rebuilding bc one player might be out til Christmas and the other isn't. I know its hard to teach size, but it's hard to teach somebody to average 4 blocks per game too. It's also hard to teach a big man to have softer hands and to average 2.5 steals a game. We need Noel. We need a shot blocker who can guard the perimeter when KI and Dion get blown by (which happens a lot)

Lens stats are definitely mis leading. He had possibly one of the worse guards in the NCAA passing him the ball. Len also put up 23 points against Noel last year -

Which is definitely true. He's not in the running for #1 because of work ethic. However, work ethic and attitude can be a tiebreaking factor...and I don't get how those are knocks. If someone is hesitant to pick Noel because as of this week, he only weighs 220 lbs (legit concern, even after putting on some weight after losing some during the injury) and isn't anything but potential offensively, I'll buy that. Citing "character issues" is not only incorrect, but the opposite is true. People may say I'm biased as a UK fan, but as much as observers can really gauge this type of thing, I think it was backed up in his play on the court...Midstate01;1459429 wrote:Also if you're picking someone at #1 because of work ethic. I have maintained like many others though, if we're talking Ben McLemore, Nerlens Noel, Alex Len or Victor Oladipo as a NUMBER ONE PICK, it's a lose-lose situation for the team picking there unless they can manage to swing a beneficial trade. I can definitely see teams at 3-5 doing what it takes to get "their guy" to drop, considering the top 5 picks are all about even, and all have risks. If I'm a team like Washington at 3 who really wants a big man, I'm sure as hell doing what I can to make sure one is there at 3. -

Azubuike24Amazingly, only about 3 or 4 of the bottom 25 were more than scrubs in the league...and I'm counting like Todd Fuller and Ryan Hollins as 2 of the better ones...

I was going to post this. 4 guaranteed Hall of famers on the left. 0 on the right -
Azubuike24There's 6 other guys on the left (excluding the obvious HOF'ers DRob, Shaq, The Dream) in Brad Miller, Nazr Mohammed, Joakim Noah, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Monroe and Christian Laettner who are all good (a few could end up being very good/great).

MulvaI saw last week that we were offered Marion and 13 for the 2 second rounders and turned it down. Maybe that heated back up.

MulvaI found this looking for more on the Marion rumors. This had better not be fucking true.

BR1986FBHave been hearing Len will be the pick. Also, as mentioned, either Marion or Paul Pierce coming to Cleveland.
-
SportsAndLadyI doubt they take Len. Probably just some pre draft smoke screen.
It's Noel or McLemore. Or a trade. -

Mclemore after yesterday's work outs pretty much got dropped off their list. He wasn't putting forth s very good effort and I doubt that sits well with grant -

Sounds like thats how its been on all his workouts. Said he was heavy and didnt work very hard. -

That's what I heard too. Sounds like they like Len due to him having the best overall game of the big men. Actually heard him compared to a young (somewhat healthy) Zydrunas.Midstate01;1461511 wrote:Sounds like thats how its been on all his workouts. Said he was heavy and didnt work very hard. -

If he turns out to be a more athletic z then Len at the first pick is good enough for me. I think he's a little more physical than z was though
