  I was waiting for this. He got hurt in game 3 and followed it up with his best game of the series. How do you explain the 3 games when he was healthy?
  
  There really isn't an argument here. He didn't play well against Miami because they played to his weaknesses. If you want to say he's top 5 that's a matter of opinion. But he didn't play well against Miami.

  I think the point that people are trying to make is that you cant label a player because of one good or bad series.
  
  Look at the series that Hedo had against the Cavs a few years ago, he was awesome that series.....does that make him an all-star?

  I understand that. But all I said was Miami was able to expose Rondo's weaknesses in the playlets by making it a half court game and daring him to shoot. I don't know why anyone would be up in arms about that. I never said he was bad I'm just not as high on him as others.

  I wouldn't take Rondo over Paul, Deron, Rose, WB, or even Steve Nash at this point who averaged 5 more points and had more APG than Rondo this year. Rondo is 100% garbage on offense. He's great on defense, rebounding, and passing, but his inability to score on anything besides layups makes him worthless unless he's surrounded by 3 possible Hall of Famers.
  
  So yeah, I wouldn't have Rondo in my top 5 for PGs either. Maybe 6th. You need to be able to score in the NBA.
  
  And don't give me this excuse that Rondo's elbow was the reason he couldn't score. Literally the exact same injury happened to Manu BEFORE the series and he still scored 20 per game against the Grizzlies.

  How can somebody say that Rondos offense is shit when the guy averages close to 10 dimes a game? He may not be the best outside shooter but thats not his game, hes a facilitator. There is more to offense than scoring. He runs that offense and he runs it pretty damn well.
  
  I'm not going to put him in my top 5 but the guy is a damn good PG

  I agree with this. Guy isn't as big of an offensive liability as people make him out to be. He does a great job of delivering the ball and running an offense. He just isn't really a threat to shoot.

  Which cost them in the postseason. The Heat gave Rondo 15 foot jumpers all day knowing he wasn't going to score from them. The Heat were good enough to force Rondo to beat them, and he simply couldn't because he can't.
  
  If Rondo can learn to knock down that jumper, IMO he challenges for top 3 PG status.

  agree. he had his fair share of 20-30 point games this year if im not mistaken. Got to have some kind of offensive game to do that. Obviously he is going to be an offensive liability when he is playing with one arm though. duh!

  Oh ya, and when I think of a point guard.. I dont think of the Derek Rose's, Westbrook's, or Deron Williams' of the world. I think more of Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and Rondo. Point guards are supposed to get their teammates involved, not be the leading scorer or shoot 20-25 times a game. Even though it is starting to evolve..

  Exactly. When I think PG I think "facilitator" who is dishing out a boatload of assists. I'm not sure that Kyrie Irving will be that facilitator early on in his career. I think Byron Scott can help make him into one but I think Irving will be a "score first" type of PG.

  Deron Williams is actually a pretty damn good facilitator.

  Keep up with the discussion. He wasn't highly effective prior to the injury and I originally brought him up in regards to the Miami series. AGAIN, I like him. Just don't think he's top 5. I have no problem with someone who does though.

  The Cavs need him to be a scorer first and facilitator second. That's why I like him for the Cavs so much.

  Agree on that because I highly doubt they'll have a lot of viable scoring options for him to dish to.

  Nash and Kidd CAN hit jumpers, and that's why they're both better than Rondo all around.
  
  So don't place Rondo in the same category as Nash and Kidd as distributors if part of the other 2's ability to distribute comes from the fact defenses have to account for their scoring ability, when defenses don't have to worry about Rondo scoring.

  I know its difficult for an imbred extended stay communtiy college "grad" such as yourself to fathom (see dictionary for definitiion) but I actually have a phenomenal memory and recall you posting the pictures giddy (lol get it, play on gibby) about it. I also thought it was funny that you were able to recognize him based on the jumbo tron image from LJ's avatar. Just demonostrates your unhealthy/creepy obsession with Gibby that you're following him around taking pictures of him. Not suprising thoguh from a spineless creep such as yourself.
